A recent post about experience with Global Entry on Arrival at SFO was moved to the following thread:

Just received my conditional approval. I'm scheduled for this Thursday at Tucson. Looks wide open; I could have had an appt the next day.

SLC dates 30 Oct and in Nov
As of last night, 10/27 SLC CBP office is wide open for appointments on 10/30 Monday. There are a couple of additional days in Nov.
I know because my GF initially got an appointment in April 2018 (!!!) but snagged a resched on Monday. Jim |
The temporary NY Penn Station location appears to be back for dates in January. My girlfriend was able to grab a date in the middle of the month and it was wide open for dates and times.
Makes me a little nervous as there is no announcement from CBP or United (assuming this is working the same as the summer), but the website allowed her to sign up online. There were only appointments for January available. |
does anyone know what the wait times are for SFO?

For those of you trying to get interviews at LAX, try checking for appointments on Friday morning. Not sure if it was a one-off but it appears LAX opens up weekend appointments sporadically (LAX Global Entry office hours are publicly listed as Mon-Fri). I wanted to share my experience this past weekend.
My original appointment was 1/31. I randomly checked on Friday 1/26 around 10am PST and saw that a couple of appointments became available on Saturday 1/27. Since my previous Saturday appointment was cancelled due to gov't shutdown, I was a bit weary to give up my upcoming appointment on the off-chance that it was a glitch in the system. While mulling it over, I also noticed that Sunday appointments at LAX opened up completely for 1/28. I thought it was a bit strange but bit the bullet and grabbed a spot for 11am Saturday. I wanted to make sure that my appointment was completely legit and not the result of a system glitch so I emailed the LAX GE Enrollment Center and surprisingly got a response confirming my appointment was valid. I went in Saturday, interviewed, and received my approval email by the time I exited the parking garage. I was in and out of LAX in less than 20min, relieved I no longer had to drive to LAX midweek during rush hour for my original time slot. Curious if anyone else got lucky and scored a last minute weekend appointment at LAX, or if someone can report back after checking this Friday. |
Drive to CLT for GE interview or fly to JFK etc. Travel in December.
My partner wants both of us to get Global Entry before trip to South America in December. (RDU-IAH-SCL, EZE-IAH-RDU) I can't decide if it make sense to go to Charlotte, as we are in RDU or whether it would be easier to fly into a place like JFK? Is it likely or possible we could get interviews on the same day and/or time?
Not sure which wiki I should look at first. I have done some reading and have a general idea how GE works. |

It is best for you to make two appointments with Global Entry Charlotte office, preferably one after the other on the same day. Dec is 9 months from now, you should have no problem getting two appointments between now and then.

https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/show...ferrerid=22732 https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/show...ferrerid=22732 There's one important thing to remember, though, since it sounds like you might choose to wait a while to schedule your interviews. Be sure to use the online system to schedule interview appointments, whether or not you plan to go to them, within 30 (or is it 60?) days of when you receive your pre-approval notice. I might be wrong about the length of time, but if you do not make appointments within a certain period of time after you receive your pre-approval notices, then your applications will be canceled, and both of you will have to start the entire application process all over again. The 30 (60?) days does not apply to the interview date itself, but to using the online system to schedule a date for the interview. It can be anywhere at anytime; just reschedule it when you have a better idea of where and when you want to do your interviews. |

Not only is this a good idea in its own right, but I think that 1KChinito is also alluding to the fact that there's a decent, though not guaranteed, chance that both of you will be seen together if you show up at the first of the two appointments.

Immediately after GOES transitioned to TTP, the TTP system had language that the 120 day limit would be enforced. However, that wording has been eliminated from the only place it existed, on the user dashboard. (I need to post an updated screenshot showing that they've removed the 120 day language from the 'dashboard' portion of the website.) It was always curious that there was no other mention of the 120 day limit in the FAQ, the CBP INFO center questions and answers, or elsewhere on the site. The elimination of the 120 day language seems consistent with my concern that it was added by someone who did not vet it with everyone else. At this point, only the 365 day overall limit from conditional approval to interview (and perhaps submission of documents requested at the interview) seems to exist. |
My family recently completed the application and interview process in less than 3 weeks from date of application to receiving cards in the mail. We interviewed at the Atlanta Customs office (not airport terminal location) and although it showed no appointments until about 6 weeks out, I checked periodically throughout the day for a couple of days and on a Thursday a full day of appointments opened up the the immediately following Sunday. We were able to book four appointments over two time slots and the interview process was quick and simple.

I had my interview at Bowling Green NY a few weeks ago. I just logged on to try to schedule my wife's interview and the website indicates that no interviews are available at Bowling Green at all. Is that location closing down? Or is this a temporary website thing? Does anyone know?
|
According to the CBP website that enrollment center is open "by appointment only."
I have not seen that disclaimer for any other location. If I were in your shoes, I'd call and ask (212-344-2296). |

Yes thanks - I noticed today that there was a block open during just one week in late May, and I was able to schedule my wife. Now those slots are gone. I'm hoping to do my kids in June, and so it seems they are just releasing the spots little by little. Weird because when I booked my own appointment just a couple months ago I had a lot more choice.

This has almost certainly been answered elsewhere but I don't know what to search for. When selecting a time on the GE Appointment Scheduler, all of the time slot buttons are disabled, despite having "3 available" etc. beneath them. Does anyone know what's up with this?

Interview schedules artificially limited?!?!
I live 3 hours from DEN and was hoping to schedule my interview at a time that I was traveling through DEN. I would prefer not to have to make a separate trip. But the global traveler website seems to put blinders on the user. If I select a date, there's nothing available in DEN. If I take the opposite approach and just look at DEN, it only quotes the next available date. It does not give you any later dates. But I want to see the earliest available date to see if it matches up with one of my planned trips.
Am I the only one to notice this? Have others found ways around this? It seems bazaar to me to make it this impractical to schedule. Unless I'm missing something, I guess I'll just keep checking back periodically. But this is so hit-or-mis, I'm assuming that me getting an interview within a year without having to make a separate trip is pretty low priority. |
Does anyone have idea on how far are the interviews for SEA?
|
Fwiw ORD was easy to schedule. By easy I mean there is a lot of availability even a few days before wanting to schedule.
I found other locations in the midwest very difficult. For example, Cincinnati & St. Louis were weeks (if not months) out. My wife scheduled a week or so ago for Peoria (there was a slot for early May), but we happened to check Indianapolis yesterday morning about 5 am. Unbelievable (to me) and there was one slot available - she was able to get in yesterday. CBP was doing a "mobile enrollment" there. The next available dates are May 3-4. The office they used was located on the baggage claim level in the back next to the United baggage claim office - between baggage claim 1 & 2. If you are near Indy, keep checking every day, including the day of the event. You might be able to do a walk in. We got there about 45 min early (no one else waiting) and she was interviewed within a few minutes. Very laid back. Great officers. Appointment times
Is there a way to look up the next available appointment for a specific Global Entry interview location? I'm considering CLT, JFK, IAD.
EDIT: OK I found the schedule page by Googling. I just can't seem to find that same page on the Global Entry website. |

I was looking at the schedule before applying. I can select a day but I can't select a time. Is this because I haven't registered yet and completed the application? It does say X appointments available.
|
I'm having trouble finding an appointment in San Diego or Las Vegas for August. There's plenty of options in June but literally not a single slot after that for... well as long as the calendar goes. Clearly they haven't loaded the slots yet but do they always do this on such short notice? |
I just received my conditional approval (Thanks FT 😉). Hoowever I went to schedule an interview and it only listed CA, and locations in TX (way too far from me). How do I schedule an appointment to the location closest to me (VA)? Thanks. |

I don’t know why it didn’t show up searching « next available ». |
Does MKE ever have open interview slots? |

This is maybe a stupid question, but... Can I schedule an interview for CLT then switch to JFK (or other) if I see availability? Or am I limited to rescheduling at the same location? CLT seems to have very little availability.

Since that location is only open 9:00AM - 4:00PM, Monday - Friday, you need to check frequently for cancellations.

I check daily. I'd really like to get this done over the summer -- it's for my 13-year-old daughter. Any thoughts on getting something scheduled there or even somewhere not much further away?

You can reschedule at any available location in the system. Good luck and let us know what you end up with.

They've opened up appointments now. Open from 6/28 through at least the end of July. I scheduled one. Thanks.
Drive there: 1 hour, 22 minutes Appointment from the time we signed in through the time we got back in the car to head home: 6 minutes. Drive home: 1 hour 22 minutes While she didn't get an approval email before we got in the car like I did when I went, by the time we got home the account was marked approved. |
Applied 6/1, conditional approval on 6/23, and the first available appointment at LAX was 7/24. I've been checking pretty regularly for earlier appointments to open up, and I got one today. I checked before I left for work and they were into August, but when I checked after I got in they had one for this evening and I snagged it. Traffic was light so I arrived about 45 minutes early, had to wait about 10 minutes before they called me, and then was done in about 3 minutes. No questions, he just looked like he was flipping through the application, said it's all in order, took my picture and prints and read me the "this doesn't give you any special rights, just cuts in line" spiel. It took me longer to get coffee across from their office than to get through. Approval hasn't come through yet "takes up to about a week, and just depends on when your prints clear".
Well worth it to check back frequently for appointments to open up. If I lived closer to LAX or the Long Beach port I could have gotten a morning appointment earlier - they seem to open up more. |
Calendar?
I recall in the past there was a calendar where you could see how far out/in appointments were booking. Can't seem to find it now... Specifically looking if anyone has experience at Memphis?? |
<deleted>
i had this same problem finding the schedule. I found it with a Google search "global entry schedule". Maybe this link will work? https://ttp.cbp.dhs.gov/schedulerui/...%2F&service=up |
RIC has very spotty availability; I think it's listed as a seasonal facility. I managed to get a mid-August appointment (about 7 weeks out from approval), but when I looked later on for potential earlier dates, everything was filled up. IAD has some pretty quick availability right now, about a week out.
