RIC has very spotty availability; I think it's listed as a seasonal facility. I managed to get a mid-August appointment (about 7 weeks out from approval), but when I looked later on for potential earlier dates, everything was filled up. IAD has some pretty quick availability right now, about a week out.

If you're willing to drive as far as IAD, the Washington, DC, Enrollment Center at the Ronald Reagan Building is within similar driving distance and the reported walk-in interview success rate there is 100% (check the wiki in this thread).

Thanks for the heads up. I went that route today, was in and out of the office in 35 minutes, with only 5 of that for the interview. Already received approval notice by the time I got home.
Thanks |

Glad it worked out for you. Mind sharing what time you got there, in order that I can add that datapoint to the wiki in the Walk-In Interviews thread?
Thanks It should be noted that when I got there, there was only one person ahead of me; by the time I left, there were 20 in there. Obviously, they took the appointments first as they showed up. I'd say more than half of the folks there were walk-ins. And, just for grins, the hardest question I got in the interview was "who's going to start at quarterback at Alabama this year" -- I had on a Bama shirt, and the officer was an LSU alum. |
No GE interview appointments available at RIC - what's the scoop?
Hi all,
I'm in the process of applying for GE for myself and my family. We've all been conditionally approved, but when I go to try to schedule an interview at RIC they show no available appointments through June of 2019 (when we would need the GE for a family trip to HKG). I can't seem to find anything that would indicate that the RIC enrollment center is anything but normally operating. Does anyone here have any info? Should I just plan on making the trek up to the enrollment center at IAD? |

Change enrollment center to Washington-Dulles International Airport as you mentioned 3. Do a walk in at Ronald Reagan building in D.C. at 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. Reported success rate is 100%. Good luck. Please come back and update us. |

Take a look at JAGorham's post from last month, it probably answers your question.

Thanks - I see in this thread now that I'm not the only one with this experience. We have family in Northern VA anyways, so we'll just head up to IAD next time we're up that way.

Wow, I must have totally missed that somewhere along the lines. Thanks for the heads up, I'd be pretty miffed to lose $400 in GE application fees.

Moderator's Note: Topic Drift
Folks,
Please let's back on topic. That is appointments availability for Global Entry final approval interviews. Please discuss the time limits to log onto the the TTP website and schedule an interview in the thread referenced above by 1KChinito. For indexing and future search purposes, off-topic posts have been moved. TWA884 Travel Safety/Security co-moderator |
I was curios to see what openings there were for JFK; the calendar shows EVERY* day for the next TWO months (even today) has openings.^ [When I renewed in 2014, there were only a few open dates.]
*Labor Day, Sept. 3, was blocked. |
Fairbanks interview availability in September
My partner was trying to schedule an interview in Fairbanks when we visit in September, but the system is showing nothing after August 31 (before that it's wide open). Does the enrollment center at FAI close after August? Or is it just that they haven't updated the availability yet?

TWA884 and 1KChinito, thank you for your replies. I noticed that ANC was listed as the only option for AK, but FAI does show up in the scheduler and is wide open. I will try calling them Monday.
Update: sent an email to the address listed on the CBP website. Now seeing availability in FAI for the rest of the year. |
I'm getting very frustrated trying to get an appointment for my wife and me after finally getting conditional approval. Online, the Denver site (the only one remotely close to home) shows " " No appointments available for this location" . I tried calling, but all you get is a recording. I emailed my concern, but I just get back canned responses saying that if I can't get an apporintment in the desired time frame to try to call the EC. It's a never-ending circle.

I drove from Raleigh to Charlotte. Maybe you could plan a vacation somewhere and do your interview there?

Have you tried cancellations while Denver enrollment center is open yet? It pays to try repeatedly throughout the day, especially when that office is open. They are open 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday - Friday (Closed Federal Holidays)

We’re happy about it because the Houston interviews would’ve required a special 2+ hour round trip and now we just need to leave for the Seattle airport a half hour early. |
There seems to be a wide range of open interviews slots. Are those real or is it just empty because of the government shutdown?
Anyone try scheduling an interview recently? |

Anyone try scheduling an interview recently? They don't even let you update documents let alone enrollment interviews. Even the "on arrival" interview and document update is not available. |

Sorry, San Jose area, Silicon Valley... Even though it states San Francisco, its really in Santa Clara.
Here's the link that discusses this: https://travelshows.com/shows/san-fr...tance-program/ Global Entry: There are 21 slots on Sat, 3/23 from 12-445p and on 31 slots on Sun, 11am-330pm in 15 min interview increments. Passport Acceptance: (you can apply for a passport at the show too) Safe travels! |
Do certain centers not allow an interview to be booked more than 3 months ahead? For example, at Orlando and Tampa there are no appointments available to be booked after the end of May 2019. I’ve looked everywhere online and can’t find information about this. |

Centers usually publish availability three months in advance. If you are looking for something beyond current availability, just wait until end of this month or beginning of April. Most people seek soonest availability. If this is your initial Global Entry application and your birthday is coming up soon, schedule your interview a day after your birthday. You shall receive a bonus of 364 days.

Thank you very much for your response - I really appreciate it. Our aim at the moment is to complete Enrollment on Arrival when we arrive in Atlanta (we are UK citizens) but our flight arrives at 20:10 and apparently EoA only goes until 21:00. We are going to be in the USA for a month on vacation so will also have an interview scheduled as a backup in case we can’t complete EoA at Atlanta. Fingers crossed our conditional approval comes through in time - we travel at the end of July. without an appointment if Enrollment on Arrival is not available at ATL when you arrive. Wish you good luck. |
FWIW: Availability at JFK AND EWR is WIDE OPEN.
I remember when I applied 4 years ago that I had to wait a month to get a spot. My GF applied this week and basically she can pick any date/time as soon as today if she really wanted... |
BOS is running out of interview slots. Only a couple of days left in August. They have yet to open up September.

After constantly checking, a spot opened up in Charlotte (yay!) - how do I continually check to see if other spots open up? Do I click on the 'reschedule' button and just look - I don't want to lose my spot, but just want to check to see if other spots become available. TIA
