Is there a limit to how many times one can reschedule?
I initially found an appointment in SAT, but today something opened up in AUS and rescheduled immediately considering it is a shorter drive from DFW.
not to mention, the one i gave up now shows available in SAT, on 01/28.

You can reschedule interview appointments as often as you wish.

If any one is interested in getting an interview in Warwick, RI, I will be cancelling two appointments in March which I made for my wife and daughter. We were able to do walk ins there today. I just want to be sure to get the approvals before cancelling.

shimps1 Jan 23, 2020 8:21 pm

Man, if you are located in the Midwest this process is a huge mess. I am in Des Moines, and I have to drive a minimum of 4 hours to the nearest interview location, and the soonest available is mid-March.

My navigation app shows an approximately 200 mile journey from downtown Des Moines to MCI. (I drove 210 miles to ABQ for my interview, so I feel your pain.) But it’s not surprising that there are relatively few CBP officers (they do the interviews) stationed in the middle of the country.

Unfortunately, "No appointments are available at this location" for MCI.

TravelinSperry Jan 30, 2020 4:53 pm

Miami Int'l had plenty of availability only 2 weeks out when I scheduled it in early January. And it's winter everywhere else in the nation. So come visit beautiful Miami and clear out your appt asap.

maninblack Jan 30, 2020 5:18 pm

We tell people to check availability in the early morning, or Friday late evening when the system updates. I have no idea how accurate that 2nd part is, as it may just be a rumor started a while back by our GE team Supervisor.

Did you end up canceling those March appointments in RI? I just got CA this morning and the earliest interview I could schedule is at the end of July. :-(

Suffolk93 Feb 2, 2020 6:45 am

They were cancelled already, I didn't realize that they just automatically cancel them if you have a walk in interview. But Warwick does walk in interviews after 4 during the week, the officer had mentioned to call after 12 to see if they are doing them. But when I called it only went to voicemail so we just showed up and there was only one person ahead of us. He did stay until 5 and took a couple after us. Good luck

I did see your post about walk-ins in another thread afterwards. I'll definitely give that a shot. Thanks for the info.

Update: I showed up around 4PM yesterday and was able to get a walk-in interview. That makes it less than a week from application to interview. I'm very pleased with that considering what I've read from others on this forum.

Was looking for an earlier appointment in Newark for the past few weeks. This morning a whole slew of dates and times opened up for February and March!

I think the proximity to NY caused the opening of appointments in Newark as the NY state residents have lost their ability to use these services.

After multiple re-schedulings, I can confirm the Boston GE office was open for our appt on Sunday 2/9. We arrived at 1:45 for a 2:15 appt to an empty office, and they saw us immediately.

We didn’t see any attempted walk-ins while there, but may be a worth a shot if one has extra time on their hands.

Cant schedule a interview into late march?

I signed up for global entry as my precheck expires later this year and figured id take advantage of my CSR card benefits. The problem i am facing now is not knowing global entry interviews were to be done at airport locations. I was thinking they would have local offices like how it went with precheck. Whatever, i travel often for work so figured id try to schedule it on a monday or friday (typical travel days) but i dont see a date until late march and into April. Is this a common issue when applying for Global entry?

Houston, TX

UKtravelbear Feb 13, 2020 2:30 pm

You don’t mention a location.

all CE interview locations - both for scheduled and enrolment on arrival - are listed in their separate categories- on the website. Most are at airport but some major cities have locations actually in the city - Chicago and Manhattan -come immediately to my mind though that latter may soon change!

note enrolment on arrival is only for those arriving off international flights.

the key to getting an interview a lot of regular checking of available appointments as people cancel and more get released.

Traveler Program Enrollment Centers suspend operations due to COVID-19 outbreak

From the DHS Trusted Traveler Programs website:

Effective March 19, 2020, out of an abundance of caution and in the interest of minimizing exposure and controlling the spread of the Novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Outbreak, all US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trusted Traveler Program Enrollment Centers will suspend operations until at least May 1, 2020. This temporary closure includes all public access to Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, and FAST enrollment locations. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience through this process.

Please note that according to our resident CBP officer, maninblack, Entry on Arrival is still available.

ccna101 Mar 21, 2020 11:08 pm

Just for clarification, Entry on Arrival is still available and you can access with just valid BP (including domestic US fly) ? Hope there are one for IAD or SFO which is my next trip.

Entry on Arrival is available only when arriving on international flights. It is NOT accessible when flying domestically within the US.

I just started my renewal process - just thinking I'd book an appointment for this fall or even early 2021 if necessary. But I got this message...no appointments at all. Does that mean this isn't an actual interview location for GE?

When I first signed up for GE, I did it at JFK booking the appointment 3 or 4 days in advance when I knew I had a flight through there. MCI wasn't even a choice back then. But now, I figured I'd at least be able to get an interview in the fall...

fredman Mar 27, 2020 1:53 am

I may be one of the last persons to get my GE interview, about a week ago.
It was a true PITA to even get an interview scheduled, here is how I did it:

What I have found is, good luck being able to schedule an interview on their online website, they all say 'none available'.
What they want you to do is TRY to schedule an interview on a return trip at one of the major airports, but good luck with that, too.
What has happened (they say) is that they have sent a ton of their agents that normally do the screening interviews to the border
to help there (starting in the summer of 2019). I have been trying to schedule an interview in Dallas, Denver, St Louis, Minneapolis,
and there are no available times (as of 4 weeks ago). I called the Kansas City office direct for 2 months, and finally got an interview
scheduled - they had ONE slot, and I took it.
What they also told me is they open up slots on the 1st and the 15th of each month, and they fill almost immediately.

So there you go, look on the mornings of the 1st, or the 15th and 16th...

Hi all,

Apologies if this isn't in the right place. I'm looking at applying for Global Entry in the hopes that travel to the US from the UK will be allowed in mid November, however I'm coming stuck with finding an answer regarding TSA Precheck... I am looking to complete my Interview, should I pass initial passing of checks, upon arrival at JFK, this will grant me GE however I am not sure if TSA Precheck interviews are conducted at the same time or if you pass GE interview are you automattically enrolled into TSA Pre? I asked this to the TSA via email however they were rather unhelpful in that they just told me the benefits of TSA Pre... I can read :P so I knew those already, the question I was asking didn't get answered.

If any here could offer guidance it will be greatly appreciated. Again apologies if I should have posted this elsewhere!.

Thanks

A Global Entry membership includes TSA Precheck (for eligible travelers). If you are eligible, you will get TSA Precheck upon approval of your application. Importantly, there is no such thing as a separate TSA Precheck interview step. You get TSA Precheck automatically with an approved Global Entry membership, if you are eligible.

Okay thanks, so just to clarify, if I apply for GE and I pass pre aprroval and then visit EoA at JFK for my interview, once that is complete I will be given my KTN? so I could in theory add that to my return booking from CLT to JFK and then JFK to LHR and go through TSA Precheck?

I fly out (hopefully) on the 22nd November from LHR to JFK then fly from JFK to CLT the next morning, I know as i'll have already checked-in for this flight I won't have my KTN to use, however for my return flights on the 16th December I should have them by then?

Thanks again for the help

Thanks for the info! Just one more question as i'm not sure who to believe :D I tend to go with CBP as its their TTP however I have seen on GOV.UK that I need to have my Interview within 6 months of recieving my conditional approval, yet on the CBP website its 365 days from approval... Do I go with my instinct and say 365 days or think 6 months?

Thanks

Cool! if i'm planning on Enrolling on Arrival at JFK do I still need to book an interview? I heard that you must schedule an interview within 30 days of confirmation and have it within now 485 days of that approval?

Would I have to schedule an interview for the 10th December for example then when I land at JFK on the 22nd November tell them I had an appointment booked but here I am now? Basically I don't want to lose the $100 on the presumption that I can just show up to EoA without booming an appointment and them cancelling my application.

That is outdated information. Currently, there is no requirement or deadline to schedule an enrollment interview. The interview, however, must be completed within 485 days or 16 months of receiving the conditional approval, it is not necessary to schedule an interview in order to have an enrollment interview upon arrival in the US (or at a participating pre-clearance location). Please refer to the Global Entry Enrollment on Arrival thread for additional information on that process.

For indexing and future search purposes, please continue discussing the deadline to complete the GE enrollment process in the thread referenced above by @1KChinito, [Updated] Deadlines to Complete Enrollment Interviews Extended due to COVID-19.

Thank you,

Global entry interview Canada?

I am trying to schedule a global entry in Seattle, but there are never appointments. I see some available in Vancouver, can I interview in Canada? We That would be next closest other than Portland, which also has no dates. I was confused as to why I could pick a Canadian option. One is at the airport and the other seems to be an off site location in BC close by.

You can select any location on this list: https://ttp.cbp.dhs.gov/schedulerui/...cation?vo=true.

Blaine usually has numerous availability.

Global entry interview sites

Hi! I was thrilled to see that they extended the time to have your GE interview, but I have a question. I live in the middle of the country and the closest sites listing availability are 12+ hours away, so at this point I will have to fly somewhere to interview. I live a few hours away from MCI and STL but there in no availability listed. Does anyone know if more sites Across the country will open up as we move past the July 6th date or will the availability of centers doing interviews stay as is? Probably a stupid question but I am contemplating booking a flight so I can interview and I would love to know if I just wait a bit there might be something closer:)

More availability will show up after enrollment centers are open.

Checking several times a day at your preferred enrollment center/s will net you an appointment after enrollment centers are open. Cancellation occurs frequently.

Good luck.

Husband forgot his GE was expiring 9/20/19 so didn't apply for renewal prior to expiration. Apply for renewal on 9/24/19 and just today finally got conditional approval and will need an interview. We are in Bay Area and I am not seeing any appointments even starting this fall at SFO. Guess we will just keep checking.

Good luck with that. One of my guys applied in January or February, got conditional approval in March, had an interview appt scheduled in Austin and had that cancelled due to COVID-19 shutdowns. He's in the same boat now, as is an ever growing queue of people who've had their appointments cancelled. Hope you can find one soon, now that things are starting to open back up.

All offices are closed until at least July 6th

You can't make any interview appointments that I know of.

SFO had one slot open when I looked on June 1 for Sept. SFO slots have always been difficult to secure so if you can travel outside of the region, it will be easier.
