My business partner got conditionally approved after his multiple appeals, and he needs to schedule an interview.
Does anyone experience with a Zoom remote interview or interview at LAX?
Are both options available soon? How about walking-ins at LAX?

As far as I know and from everything that I have read in the Trusted Travelers forum, remote interviews are available only for renewal applications when new photos and fingerprints do not need to be taken.

Please refer to the following thread:As far as walk-in interviews, we have a thread on that topic. I don't recall any recent reports of success in getting those.

Long story short he had NEXUS (PASSID) before, so it looks he can pick a remote interview.

NEXUS and Global Entry are two different programs. Unless your business partner has Global Entry before, otherwise it will be a new application, not a renewal. Thus remote interview is not available to him/her.

That's interesting... He never had GE membership before. He had NEXUS membership before that came with GE benefit...
He just showed me that definitely he applied for GE membership this time not NEXUS, and he is able to pick a remote interview. There is no remote interview available at the moment, though

Per

remote interview timeslots appear periodically - just keep checking and you'll likely find a time that works.

Thanks for the tip. I randomly looked this am and it seems the appts opened up after Feb 15. I was able to book 4 slots less than a week from our trip.

Somehow I missed this the day I posted OR I could get 4 appts but thanks.

Anyway I hope this new info helps others out. JFK is open after Feb 15! And by open, I mean the Appointment slots are fully open!

AlanA Jan 31, 2022 8:21 am

How far ahead are slots available?

looking for November in Orlando, but coming up as no slots

GE first time interview

Apologies admin, if this is not in the right topics, please move if incorrect.

I have conditional approval (UK Citizen) and will try for AOE, but trying to book an interview as a backup
looking for MCO in November, but when trying to get a date, only MIA shows for that time in Florida.
am I looking too early?

It's probably way too early. Some enrollment centers post available appointment times earlier than others. I am surprised that MIA is already showing appointment availability for November. Just keep checking.

FYI, a bunch of Zoom interviews popped up for today, 7th.
fixed typo.

Just did mine over zoom, took maybe around 4 mins in total. Offered to discuss the benefits of global entry but i declined as i was renewing.
Showed Passport picture page on the webcam and associated documents. Verified the numbers as well to see if they tally with that already in the database.
Just received the approval email

NJexpat Mar 23, 2022 5:42 am

For those in NY/NJ/CT area that don't want to wait until July for an interview....... try the Champlain Border office. OK a bit of a drive, but they have lots of slots.

collegesista Mar 29, 2022 3:55 pm

There was a lot of availability in late May/June when I checked on Sunday but it filled up fast

amejr999 Apr 24, 2022 11:12 am

Some same-day Zoom interviews available now.

Global Entry Initial Interview

Looking for tips on getting the initial interview for my daughter.

I have had GE for years and the new system is swamped - can't find any interview nearby for months - most places are saying
"No appointments available at this location" or are 2023 dates.

She is close to ATL and MEM (and will be in SLC this summer) so those would be best (I did mine offsite at ATL).

Have been checking Soonest Available at all hours but nothing local or nearby...

Any ideas???
Thanks, FH

angetenar May 31, 2022 11:17 am

Any international travel? She could try to do the enrollment on arrival thing

How frequently have you checked and for how long? It is best to refresh every few minutes daily, especially during office hours of your desired enrollment center/s. In less than two weeks, you should be able to find something acceptable.

Alternatively, find someone to build you a bod similar to: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/show...ferrerid=22732

Its normal for it to be that crazy backed up. If you can’t do interview on arrival, it can take both expanding search parameters and more then a bit of luck to get an interview in a timely manner. The only reason why I found an interview in about 3-4 months is because apparently not many other people think of Mobile, Alabama as a place to do a GE interview.

EkekoBWI Aug 14, 2022 7:15 pm

SeaTac now showing "None available" for live interviews. Quite the change from a few weeks ago, when even the summer was open.

jimdarcy Aug 25, 2022 12:18 pm

Has anyone used and willing to recommend any of the services that scan for open slots and notify for a monthly fee?

coffeeblack Aug 26, 2022 6:04 am

Wait, so I have been conditionally approved, but there are no appointments anywhere [even in Singapore which usually will show some appointments a few months out]. Does that mean the only option for me is to do an interview on arrival?

themicah Oct 3, 2022 4:55 am

On the good side they're processing applications quickly. I applied for my kids on Saturday and all were conditionally approved before Monday morning.

On the bad side, there are no interview appointments available anywhere we can get to before our next international trip in February. The first appointments available within reasonable driving distance are in March. I guess I'll hold the March appointments and hope our layover in Miami in February is long enough to do enrollment on arrival? This sucks.

If you are in/near NYC just drive to JFK on a Saturday. I've done it and it was fairly painless.

I signed up this morning for ttpalerts.com, which is $12 for a month of alerts and doesn't seem to limit the number of locations you can monitor. I initially put in the NYC-area locations (JFK, EWR and Bowling Green) plus AUS and ORD and the Chicago Field Office as we'll likely be visiting AUS and CHI before our international trip. It seems to send an alert whenever the first-available appointment at a location changes. So far today Chicago seems to have opened a whole bunch of appointments in late October and a smattering in November and December, and AUS opened almost all of December (I'm pretty sure both those locations were showing "no appointments available" when I checked this morning). I also got an alert about one at EWR this afternoon (someone must have canceled).

So it does seem to work as I'm definitely getting notified about things that weren't there when I looked earlier today.

But there are a couple caveats:
  1. There's a ton of noise (I've probably gotten 20+ alerts already today in the couple hours since I signed up). It seems that whenever somebody grabs the first-available appointment at a location, I get a new alert about the new "first-available" appointment at that location. It would be nice if I could specify date ranges or something so I wasn't getting alerts about Chicago for October when I won't be there until late December. I guess I might be able to do some email filtering at my end so that it auto-deletes most of the emails that aren't relevant to me.... But because it only tells you "first available" you also don't know if someone just canceled a single appointment or if the location just opened up a new week or month of appointments for booking.
  2. Appointments get grabbed very quickly and I'm not sure how often it scans for the new appointments. While poking around on the actual "reschedule" page on the government website, for example, I noticed an appointment popped up for JFK tomorrow that went away a minute or two later, and I never got an email alert for that one.

How long ago did you do it? There are a couple of recent reports in the Walk-Ins thread where folks are saying they were turned away. I might be willing to brave the Van Wyck if I knew I could get it done, but schlepping there to be turned away doesn't sound worthwhile (I'd rather just do it on arrival when we come back in February).

Suddenly see San Francisco have lots of December in person interviews, including Saturdays till evening

themicah Oct 7, 2022 1:30 pm

Yes, earlier this week I think CBP must have added staffing to a few locations. JFK and Bowling Green in NYC opened up full schedules for most of October and November, where they had zero availability through end of schedule last week.

darthbimmer Oct 18, 2022 12:07 am

I applied to renew my Global Entry membership over the weekend. Less than 24 hours later they responded with conditional approval-- great news! Now I only have to complete an interview (WHY??) -- horrible news! There is nothing available that does not require a costly trip or a ridiculous wait.

Zoom interviews? None available through the end of 2023.
San Francisco office? Also nothing.
Las Vegas? Nothing.
Portland, OR? Nothing.
San Diego? Nothing.
Los Angeles? There's an appointment available 51 weeks from now.

There are appointments sooner if I'm willing to fly a lot further and on a weekday. This is a farce. I imagine, though, that additional appointment slots get loaded into the system periodically. I observed that happening last time I did this ridiculous dance 5 years ago. Does anyone know when new slots usually become available?

KARFA Oct 18, 2022 12:14 am

What about doing the interview on arrival to the US? https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-t...llment-arrival

I have literally spent 5 days refreshing every 30-60 seconds manually for about 10 hours a day. I see a few places pop up for 1 minute or less like SFO once in a while or SEA, but LAS or LAX not at all to say nothing for other major areas.

HD75 Oct 25, 2022 11:37 am

FYI for anyone looking to interview at MSP...a bunch of interview slots for November just opened up. Like more than two dozen on every working day in November.

thomas22 Oct 26, 2022 7:31 pm

after receiving my conditional approval for renewal i was unable to find a location that worked with my next six months worth of travel. Fortunately i had an international trip scheduled so i used the Interview on arrival option at LAX. it was a TWO hour wait in a slow moving line (most movement was from people giving up and leaving the queue). They repeated announced recommendation to use zoom. I tried to book zoom several times including while i was waiting in line, gave up after finding no availability for the next FIFTEEN years. Complained to agent when i had my interview, he said that he thought only Ontario California does the zoom interviews and only when they have free time

is the interview on entry for lax at the airport ? Because the GE center is off campus…

Enrollment on Arrival interviews are conducted by CBP officers only at customs and immigration at the airport when arriving in the US from an international destination or at a pre-clearance facility before boarding a flight to the US.

If you are ok with fiddling with python code, there are plenty of options available online (github) that you can use to set it up on your PC/MAC. I was able to set it up to and managed to snag appointments within a week for the whole family.

vanillabean Nov 23, 2022 3:32 pm

When I click on an available appointment slot, the mouse cursor has a circle with a diagonal line in it, and I can't open the link. Why would that happen?
