DOH! Applied for my GE renewal back in March. At that time I managed to book an interview for Today (23/08) for 09.30, only now to find they don't open until 14:15 (!). No notification from them re. change in opening time! Scurrying around now to see what to do... :-(
(I did get lots of emails from them about enrolling upon arrival in the US though - not much use at the moment).

The deadline to complete the enrollment interview has been extended to two years from the conditional approval. In the interim, as long as you applied for the renewal before the original expiration date, you will continue to receive all Global Entry benefits pending the final approval of your renewal application.

Indeed. The issue was that I had made an appointment for a specific time and location. However, the office was listed as being closed at the time of the appointment - hence my issue. I certainly didn't want to be a no-show and lose my $100 fee (as you would if you cancelled the appointment). I did try rescheduling - but no appointments available (in person or online), and did try to call their helpline and local number. The local CBP office stated their office hours on the web (i.e. it would be closed), the helpline was of limited use. After 1 hour 10 mins on hold to the helpline - without getting past the mind-bogglingly badly looped music, and juggling a couple of phones, I got through the to local CBP office. They said, "oh yes, the office hours on the telephone message is wrong - we open at 9am...". Another DOH! Anyway, sped up to their office and got it all sorted.
Moral of the tale - don't believe the web/telephone messages!

It would be helpful to other members to know which CBP Enrollment Center has the wrong office hours in their phone message.

BWI GE Enrollment center actually opens at 9 AM (until 5 PM?) - at least at the end of August 2021, but is listed as
https://www.bwiairport.com/flying-wi...y/global-entry 1-4 PM Mon-Fri.
google maps: 2:15-5 PM Mon-Fri
and on their phone message as 1:15-5 PM Mon-Fri

Boston wide open from November 1st.

Anyone have recent experience with how long after the interview (for an expired GE) before you're good to use it again? My wife gets her new interview about 10 days before we head out of the country. Tried to get an earlier one, but our home airport is SFO and it's about the worst for availability. The on-line options even further out (her interview is for Oct 15th I think? And we're checking every few days to see if anything opens up earlier). Thanks!

Just a heads up, I found a workaround using the GE API to sound when any appointment opened up to book. I can share how I did it if folks are having trouble.

Hi! Im in MA and finally booked an appointment for Nov 1 after constantly checking for a sooner appointment slot. Love to hear advice on anything i can do to grab the soonest available appointment. Thanks

CLT opened up interview slots through this Tuesday. Otherwise they had nothing open at all.
They also noted in telephone conversation that they put up interview slots on the 1st and 15th of each month (unless a holiday in which case I assume it slides forward).

Just did my (first) interview today in DTW at the Bridge to Canada Enrollment Center. Officer asked me why I came all the way up to DTW instead of going to CLT. I explained that I was in DTW for business so I swung by. CLT would be 5-6 hours of driving roundtrip.

Another first-timer here. We live in Port St. Lucie, FL.

Filled out the application last Friday, and received conditional approval on Sunday. I had hoped to schedule the interview at the Treasure Coast Airport, as it is only 15 minutes from us. We are leaving on Oct. 7th, so an early interview was important. There were no appointments at the Treasure Coast Airport until late October. I checked other close sites - PBI, FLL, MCO, even the port facility at Riviera Beach, but no luck. Finally, I looked at MIA, and it was wide open, so we went there on Tuesday. Five minutes later, we are trusted. Easy Peasy.

If you are in South Florida, there are tons of slots in MIA, with four agents on site there.

Just received my conditional approval the other day and need to go in for an interview. I live in ATL and the earliest available appointment in April 4, 2022. Any way I can get an interview sooner that this? Thanks in advance!

Go back and check the interview page every day. Sometimes people cancel and slots can open up again.

Look at alternate cities. If one has an earlier date make a trip out of it.

Just signed up for Appointment Scanner for my fiancee. She was approved a couple of weeks ago but the first PHL interview wasn't until late February. Trying to get an interview before Christmas since she has to fly and I want her to have PreCheck.

I've had five slots open at EWR but none in PHL. Wonder why PHL is so bad (no int'l flights yet?).

Good morning, I wonder if the experts could advise? I was provisionally accepted for the TTP on 26 october 2020. Since then haven’t of course been able to get in to the United States. Now have a trip planned for New Year with an overnight stop at JFK, a connection in LAX and final arrival in Tucson, Arizona. Checking every day each of those three places for appointments without success (earliest is Feb.2022 and i will be back home in Europe by then). My questions are 1. Can i take an appointment somewhere near Tucson during my holiday (i.e. doesn’t have to be immediately upon landing in the US? 2. How much longer do i have before the provisional acceptance expires 3. What about just doing a walk’in appointment 4. I am unclear what documents i need to take (just a proof of residence in Switzerland?)
THANK YOU

You need to check on the enrollment on arrival thread.

https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trus...t-arrival.html

JFK is listed as an active GE enrollment on arrival location. I would post your question there to see if your travel plans give you a decent chance on completing your interview when you get to JFK.

Thanks Cheltzel! Will do that now. But how about just taking an appointment at Nogales in Arizona. I can drive there during my stay and they seem to have lots of availability. Does that work too?

Thank you TWA884. Good links that I am looking at now.
I'm still unclear about whether I am allowed to book an appointment elsewhere though, somewhere 'not' on my flight itinerary, like Phoenix or Nogales. I'll be in Arizona long enough to get an appointment and drive over there. I'm just not clear whether these appointments need to be carried out 'as you step off the plane, passport in hand' or if they can be carried out any time I am in the US (I'm not a US citizen btw).

thank you again !

You can interview for Global Entry at any GE office nationwide. No need to correlate such an interview with your travel plans. EoA is simply an option for GE interviews - your interview can be at any GE location.

In fact, make a GE interview appointment now, and then do EoA if it happens to work out on your travel day. A successful EoA interview will automatically cancel an upcoming regular interview appointment for you.

Just a my thoughts on your situation. This basically is a restatement of what mnbp just posted.

You need to look at your travel plans and decide what is the most effective way for you to complete the interview process. If your arrival terminal at JFK is an active EOA location and if you have a decent connection interval (my guess is 3 or more hours), I would try to do an EOA when you get to JFK. I would also see if there is a convenient interview time at Nogales (or any other available interview location within easy driving distance). If you find an interview time available there, I would book that as a backup. This way you will do your interview at JFK if it works out. But you won't need to be stressed about it as you have a backup once you get to your eventual destination. If you do this and compete your interview at JFK, make sure you cancel your interview at the backup location as a courtesy to others looking for available interviews.

Two comments:
  • Based upon the original post, Winnie1 has an overnight layover in New York City.
  • An enrollment interview appointment is automatically cancelled upon completion of an Enrollment on Arrival interview.

So having just gotten our fam of 4 conditionally approved, now looking at JFK and when I used the link in the wiki above about availability at JFK, literally nothing shown for JFK.

Is this a situation where I should check every day to see what opens as things open up at JFK?

Next int'l trip is Feb2022 and were hoping to have GE by then but I guess we could do EOA when we arrive. But I was hoping that would be a last resort.

Keep rechecking availability at least once daily. Hopefully you will find interviews popping open at the last minute.

This is probably a crazy question (given how hard it can be to cross the NY metro), but have you considered EWR? It might be hard to cobble together four appointments close together, but Appointment Scanner has consistently been giving me 3-4 openings a day.

PHL just released a ton of appointments. I'm guessing they are ramping back up with the borders open again.

I'd be up for it and make a day trip of it and find the nearest Diners DriveIns and Dives for food!

Am I using the right tool? I went to this site https://ttp.cbp.dhs.gov/schedulerui/...cation?vo=true as shown in the wiki IIRC

and for soonest available for 3+ people (we need 4 ), nothing shows in the entire northeast and I *just* looked.
