JAN 28 1:30PM Eastern - Submit renewal for spouse and 2 kids.
JAN 29 9:25PM Eastern - Received TTP Application Status Change email for all 3.

No interview for kids. Spouse needs to interview. Message indicates NEXUS benefits extended 1 year past expiration (expiration is Sept 2021). Interview must take place by Jan 30 2023 (2 years from conditional approval). So I'm guessing if spouse does not interview by Sept 2022, NEXUS benefits will no longer be available but conditionally approved application is still active until end of Jan 2023.

Since the kids are approved, the new cards is still going to have pictures of them as toddlers when they are on the verge of being teenagers....

Was approved, no interview required. Was my first renewal. Traveled to Europe and Caribbean over the last five years, including Cuba. Canadian.

Wow, that's quick. I just applied for renewal today; hoping for the same. First renewal for me as well. US LPR; citizen of Norway. Traveled to a number of countries in Europe and the Caribbean, as well as Thailand and Australia. I did have a stopover in Qatar on the way to Thailand, which is the only country on my list that the US might get hung up on.

So my renewal application is now some 20 months old - pending interview which is unavailable.
Should I continue waiting, or put in another application as many seem to be approved without an interview these days?

You have two years from the date that you received the conditional approval of the renewal application to complete the enrollment interview.

Remote interviews? I have been checking for interview appointments for a while now and today noticed that I had the option of a Remote interview. There were no appointments available when I clicked through, but has anyone seen that before? Have you done one?

Seems like a new service. The remote option showed up for a UK citizen applying for Global Entry renewal.

Went to check if anything in London (there isn't) however saw a new Remote option but nothing seems to be available at the moment, new service? Not seen anything online about it. BTW Remote does not show for my daughter so looks like they need her to physically turn up (she was 2 when she got it so probably need new pics that can't be done over zoom).

I have a renewal appointment in Calgary in May, and I have been checking every week for appointments in Vancouver, where I live. I too saw the remote interview option today when I logged in. It wasn't there last Friday. Still no appointments available through. When I converted from Global Entry to Nexus 5 years ago, I did not have to interview. Anyway, this is a pretty cool option. I'll have to keep an eye on the site appointment availability.

When to renew Nexus?

I hopeful there will be some travel this year 6 Nexus expires in December 21. Is there a specified amount of time before expiry that I should renew by? Or would it not matter since it goes by birthday and not buy when you renew like a passport?

With the current lack of available interviews and the extended validity period, it would seem that any time before the expiry date would be ok.

April 26, 2020 - Submitted renewal application.
February 24, 2021 - Received approval.

No interview required. Canadian citizen.

Renewal

Applied 2/21/21
Approved 2/23/21

Minor child
Applied 2/22/21
Conditional Approval 2/24/21
Needs to go for an interview within 730 days.

The only reason why I think my child needs an interview is for an updated picture. Did anyone else have to find time for an interview for their child? Or a way to just do a virtual interview?

I know, less than 48 hours is impressive! Just received my card today, so about two weeks for delivery.

My children were also conditionally renewed but need an interview, likely to update their photographs. We have a previously scheduled appointment at YVR in July.

The TTP website mentions the option of a virtual interview but I have not been able to find anywhere on the site that will let me book this.

Has anyone booked a virtual interview?
