three months. but i added about 25 new countries, none of them axis of evil nations, but some of them still at war. so maybe that was the hold up.

2 renewals applied on June 12: one approved on Sept 6, the other on Sept 7. No interview needed.

Notice CBSA updates their Nexus application service standards from 32 days (June 2018) to 35 days for Sept 2018 - seems its about 50+ business days for some of us here.

renewal pending

can anyone confirm what I think im reading, if a Nexus renewal was applied for BEFORE the card was expired and is now still pending approval, can the program be used as
normal for 6 months AFTER the expiry date as long as the approval is pending?

Frequently Asked Questions

I have submitted my Trusted Traveler application for review. Did CBP receive my application?
...
There is no expedited process for applications. If you submitted a renewal application before expiration of your current membership, then you can continue to use your benefits until the renewal is finalized (up to 6 months after your expiration date).

Not me personally. If you read up thread, you shall see a few reports.

One FTer reported issues at land crossing because officer was not aware of this exception.

In the future, it is best to renew at T-364.

I do this every single week at the Peace Arch or Truck Crossing border crossing from BC to Washington state. I applied for renewal on June 19. My Nexus expired mid July. I do keep a copy of the paperwork showing I am waiting on approval. I also keep a copy of my paid renewal receipt in the car.

I have also used my expired Nexus card one time at YVR airport. No issues there.

Hoping my renewal will be completed in the next couple of weeks.
