Notice CBSA updates their Nexus application service standards from 32 days (June 2018) to 35 days for Sept 2018 - seems its about 50+ business days for some of us here. https://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/services/serving-servir/processing-traitement-eng.html |

can anyone confirm what I think im reading, if a Nexus renewal was applied for BEFORE the card was expired and is now still pending approval, can the program be used as
normal for 6 months AFTER the expiry date as long as the approval is pending? |

There is no expedited process for applications. If you submitted a renewal application before expiration of your current membership, then you can continue to use your benefits until the renewal is finalized (up to 6 months after your expiration date). ... |
but has anyone actually done it? used the expired card at a land boarder or at an airport? any practical experience

One FTer reported issues at land crossing because officer was not aware of this exception. In the future, it is best to renew at T-364. |

I have also used my expired Nexus card one time at YVR airport. No issues there. Hoping my renewal will be completed in the next couple of weeks. |
