Wife's renewal submitted: 5/5/2017
Conditional Approval: 7/18/2017
Interview at YYZ scheduled for 9/1

My nexus was due to expire early December and after receiving the notice in early June, I figured I should renew right away in case I need to wait.

Colour me very surprised:

Renewal application: June 8, 2017
Approval: July 19, 2017

Just under 6 weeks! :D

No interview required this time around either.

Seems like they're batching all the conditional approval/approvals as it seems like a bunch of others recently received notification also.

Update

Expiry: at a known date in November 2017
Prompted by CBP to apply for renewal: June 2, 2017
Input and paid for renewal: July 3, 2017
Notification of approval: July 24, 2017 !!!!!! (Three weeks!)
No interview mentioned.

The letter is identical to the approval of a new NEXUS and does not mention the word "renewal" at any point. (Hope the letter was not generated by someone's elbow reaching for coffee, with a recall-email notice coming soon!)
Says I may use the program as soon "as I receive my new card". Doesn't seem logical that I can't use the old card until then. However, the ambiguity is moot because my original card arrived in under a week from the letter, though, and I won't be needing NEXUS within the next couple of weeks.
I notice the return address on the form is the specific office where I had my original interview, not the program HQ.

i have been following this thread to get a sense of the renewal timeline as I had applied for my 1st renewal. Here is my experience:

Original expiry - a date in January 2018
Renewal prompt email - Jul 7, 2017
Renewal Application/payment - July 9, 2017
Approval (not conditional - no interview) - August 2, 2017

a total of just over 3 weeks!!:)

Email re status change received on August 2 and as of that date new renewal date in 2023 reflected on website. As with an earlier post I noted that the approval letter is identical to the original approval letter - no mention of renewal.

It seems like they got pretty fast last 1-2 months, but not me. It took me more than 2 months to get a new card. At least I didn't have to go through an interview. The expiry date was August, I'm glad the new card made it before current card expired.

Sent paper application by regular mail on 5/23.
My credit card was charged on 5/31.
Got an email from GOES on 7/26, saying account change. GOES site said it has been approved, and coming from Vancouver Airport (although I chose Vancouver city location for interview venue).
Got a new card from DC by regular mail on 8/1.
