And my new datapoint:
Applied for Renewal: Feb. 5, 2017 Conditional Approval: April 27, 2017 Interview: Pending So that's 11.5 weeks, basically. US/Canada dual citizen, with a few address changes in the last 5 years (though all in the US). Looking to get an interview next time I'm in YYZ, at the end of May, so we'll see if I can work that out. But my current one doesn't expire until August, so in worst case, I can wait. My dad, a Canadian only, got his renewed without the need for an interview. Wife is still waiting, she applied at beginning of March, and hers expired at end April. She will for sure need an interview, as she went from GC holder to US citizen. Also hoping to get her scheduled in May....its more important for her, since she's already expired, but based on my wait time for approval, it may be close if her approval even comes in by then, much less, can get a spot when we're there. |

Renewed on February 27th and still pending.. I wonder if because I renewed early (doesn't expire until November) and I'm unemployed at the moment.

Mine would have expired this Dec. I am not unemployed and am with the same employer, but did move states.

So, I assume if Nexus expires, I lose TSA Pre?
I'm at 9 weeks of "Pending Review", and about 10 days away from birthday. |

Wife updated her status last time in YYZ. They took her Nexus card, telling her that she needed a new one that noted her citizenship as US, as that always has to be primary, but noted that GE into the US would work. Of course, GE didn't work - asked for her Green Card, IIRC, which obviously, she doesn't have anymore. I'm convinced of what happened: her profile, in addition to listing her new US passport, still also had her permanent residency on file. My assumption is the agent added the citizenship without removing the residency, and the latter is what is screwing things up. Since she needed a new card, and was pretty close to expiration (and now expired, as of the end of April), she just re-applied without the permanent residency information, and hopefully, they'll fix at her interview. If she doesn't need an interview, and I do, there's something truly wrong with the system, IME. |
Applied: Feb 25
Existing NEXUS holder. Still pending. 77 calendar days, 54 Canadian business days. I wonder if renewals go to the bottom of the pile...have until January for expiration. |

I just called and was told that Canada approved my background check literally the same day I applied for renewal and it's been pending US approval for nearly 3 months now. She told me that the US is 3-5 months behind in processing. Ridiculous.

I've been told that you keep TSA Pre if your renewal is "Pending Review", but I don't know to a certainty.

ETA: I just called the CBSA, and found out that Canada cleared me on 2/17 (I applied on 2/16) and that the current turnaround time is between 12-15 weeks on the US side. Perhaps the hamsters running the US computers aren't being fed enough? |
My renewal is at 13 weeks and counting now...this is getting ridiculous. Expires in just over three months now...

Update: Application, mid March. Approval, first week in May. Approx 7 weeks from application to approval. No interview required. Card received and activated this week.
Expiration date would have been end of December 2017. US Citizen since birth. The only changes were state/place of residence and a few visited countries (mostly Caribbean and S America). |
