Isn't that a long time to wait for a renewal? How long should I expect?

On the longer end for this thread for sure, but I just hit 25 months so it could take longer....

It seems like they have no pattens? looks through this thread like most get renew in 6 month? (Me and P2 both get in 6 month in 2023, both need interview, 2nd time renew), meanwhile P3 already 10 month still waiting.

I applied for renewal in early January this year. My NEXUS was due to expire in April (next month). I just received notice yesterday that my application was approved with no interview necessary, only two months after renewal application was submitted.

I presume they will automatically be sending me a new replacement card showing the new expiration date? Or do I have to explicitly request a replacement card (I do see the "Replace card" option on the TTP dashboard)?

For the other's in my family who also applied at the same time (first-time NEXUS enrollment application), they are all still in a "pending review" status.

Yes, they will send a new card.

For clarification, are you saying my existing membership, which expired in 2023, remains valid for 5 years after expiration or 5 years from issuance?
If it is the latter, how long after the expiration date can I continue to use my current NEXUS card? Last I heard it was one year. Has that changed? And yes I applied for renewal prior to expiration.

As long as the renewal application was made before the original expiration date, you will continue to receive all NEXUS benefits for up to five years pending the final approval of the renewal application.

From the Canada Border Services Agency website:

Existing members who renew their membership prior to the expiry date will have their benefits extended for up to five years to allow for the scheduling and completion of interviews, as required (if they have not been auto-renewed).
And the U.S. Customs and Border Protection website:

Existing members who renew their membership prior to the expiry date will have their benefits extended for up to five years to allow for the scheduling and completion of interviews, as required (if they have not been auto-renewed).

Got a weird one. We live in SJC (Bay Area California)

Nexus expired
Spouse got a new passport - with her married name.
Can't apply for Nexus renewal (or global entry) online since there was a name change and passport change

For over a year now we contemplated visiting a GE office, but haven't been able to make it happen.

How can we update her account's passport online/phone/email?

Your best bet is do a walk in @ Global Entry's office @ SFO. Ask them to change her name and update her passport number. After the change, you are most likely be able to renew online. Please report back if you are successful.

Thx 1kC Will try. It is an hour drive in good conditions, funnily we landed at SFO at 6am last week but didn't want to sit at the office until 7:30am.

Any chance the SJC Border Control team could do this task? (Researching)

My guess is no since there isn't an enrollment office. However, SJC is listed as an Enrollment on Arrival location, so an update might be possible upon reentry from an international flight. (A trip to SFO is likely easier unless you're already planning to take one of the few international flights back to SJC.)

Renewal applied: January 9, 2024
Received email notifying of approval: March 8, 2024 (no interview required)

I was one of the original Nexus land card holders, so i have had many renewals.

ajcopley Mar 19, 2024 9:39 am

Renewal card received today. Three months from submittal of Nexus renewal application to new card being received (no interview required). Not as bad as I was expecting.

Family members (first time applicants) are all still sitting in "Pending Review" status though (also applied beginning of January).
