Just an informational update and a question.

Update: After applying for renewal in late JAN, I finally got Conditionally Approved APR 8. Unfortunately, since it was conditional, I have to interview, even though this is my first renewal.

Question: Does my 6mo "grace period" for PreCheck still apply now that I'm Conditionally Approved and waiting for my interview? I have a work trip to BOS coming up in early May, there were no SFO appointment slots before that trip, so I selected a slot in BOS on my departure date. I'm wondering if PreCheck will work for my trip though.

Thanks!

Yes, you have a grace period of six months beyond expiration of your current membership.

Jan 27 app --> Apr 8 approval

Some stats:
  • Expires late April 2019
  • Applied Jan 27, 2019
  • Approved as of April 8, 2019 (and not more than a day or two before)
  • No interview
  • No change of status email received
  • Added a few new countries (Hong Kong, Macau, UAE)
  • New state/address/driver's license, new job
  • Male, mid-30s
Appreciated the intel from this thread as I was waiting (..and waiting, ...) so wanted to add to the log

Anyone have any idea how long this could take? Now the trips are coming fast and furious. Says pending as of today. US Citizen. had it before and stupidly let it expire before renewing a couple months after that.

Are you still waiting? Same thing happened to me, had the pre login.gov version of GOES and never got any expiration warning Applied two weeks after expiration after noticing no pre chk on my ticket :)

Is there anything that one has to do to get the grace period? I had assumed it would automatic. I filed my renewal application on 3/5, my global entry expired on 4/4, and my first post-expiration flight is tomorrow, and -- of course -- no pre-check.......

No, the grace period is automatic. Did anything else change? Was this first non-precheck flight booked with a different travel agent/web site? Did you verify that your reservation's Secure Flight Passenger Data fields match your TTP profile?

Still PENDING REVIEW

I'm at 61 days and counting. 2nd renewal. Very disappointed at DHS's capability to adjudicate these applications on a timely basis.

Mine was just processed in six or seven business days. At this point, any delays might not be on DHS' end.

Further data point - Applied for 1st renewel at T-350ish on February 1st. Status still “pending review” as of today.

Conditional Approval today, no email or other notification, had to login to see it. Interview needed. Schedule for interviews seems pretty wide open where it was convenient for me to go.

what does that mean?
who else is involved in processing renewals?
and if there aren’t delays, why still the red warning?

It’s a background check. Presumably, a lot of other agencies are involved, especially for people with common names.
