List of Global Entry Enrollment Centers

Post your walk-in experiences in the Wiki. If you cannot update the Wiki, then please post in the thread, and someone will paste your data point. Please format it as such under the enrollment center where you attempted to walk-in:

Yes/No [If Yes, put how long you waited in brackets] (Date and time attempted)

If someone in your family had an appointment at that time, please note that, too.

Examples:
Yes [45m] (4/2/2016 10am w/ a family member who had an appointment)
Yes [2h] (4/18/2016 3pm)
No (5/2/2016 12pm w/ a family member who had an appointment)
Yes [25m] (5/10/2016 9am)

SFO walk-in

Walked into SFO this morning at 9:10am, yes, waited for about 8 minutes.
But the gentlemen right next to me also walked in and waited since 7:30am and we went in at the same time; so he waited for about 100 minutes! I guess its the bad timing from the rush for people doing the interviews before they go to work.

They have a sign at the door saying that they do accept walk-in but be warned that it may take up to 8 hours.

I am new to FT and don't know how to update the wiki. Someone please help. thanks.

I would not even consider attempting it at MSP. The setup is a sign-in sheet outside the office that is only unlocked when an interviewee is being escorted in or out. No real waiting area, just grab a seat with those awaiting arriving international passengers.

Bowling Green, New York City, 11:00 a.m. Absolutely, positively, does not accept walk-ins. Went through the metal detectors and asked the private security guards (which are shared with the Museum of the American Indian) where Global Entry was located (there are no signs, and apparently they come down to get you). They asked me when my appointment was, and I told them I had a "later" appointment (I didn't tell the 4 and a half months early), but was in New York and I thought I would try to see if they could accept me. They told me that they never accept walk-ins, but were friendly and trying to be helpful and suggested that I call up to them because they did not seem at all busy. They even gave me a phone number which was picked up by a human instead of the info line I had. The person on the other end of the line though was not at all friendly, told me that they don't do walk-ins, and was clearly not interested in being helpful or accommodative, or discussing the matter any further. I thanked the guards and left. I knew it was a longshot, but I'm traveling tomorrow and thought it would be nice if I could complete my application beforehand.

Washington DC Walk-in Success

I'm new and can't edit the Wiki, but wanted to share my walk-in appointment info:

Washington, DC Enrollment Center, Ronald Reagan Building, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue NW - Yes [0m] (08/27/2016 11:00am)

Two of us went, neither with an appointment, and we were seen immediately after signing in by two different agents/officers.

After going there, I'm not surprised. Tried to do the ABTC signature collection this morning between modest connections (already Nexus/GE). Enrollment office is just a cubbyhole with a closet for the waiting area. No receptionist, and one officer doing everything. Sign at the front says absolutely no interviews without appointment for that day, turn off cell phone, all sorts of welcoming. Waited for about 40 minutes for the officer to appear before bagging it.

Did get to hear him deny a lady whose passport didn't match her other info (maiden/married name, why wasn't it caught before the conditional approval??) for about 20 minutes going over the same info (on his initiative, not in response pushback from her), refer to the GE duty as the short end of the stick, and from other waiters who said he had come out to tell them they were talking too loud.

Greetings follow travelers, need some advice flying into EWR on the last week of Sept. 8:30 am arrival then changing airports to fly out of JFK Terminal 4 at 13:30 same day. Looking at the GOES interview appointment schedules, JFK is blank-out until NOV where at least EWR has not available appointments for SEPT. I have 5 hours between flights, hopefully the arrival is on time, then renting a car for the drive from EWR to JFK. I prefer to skip EWR GE location due to unknown factors like traffic conditions to JFK, changing EWR terminal from C to B GE location, pickup rental or if they take the walk-in at EWR it could be a long wait. JFK would be a lot less stress since I'm at the airport if waiting for the interview. If you had to choose one location (I know I can try both) which one would be better odds on walk-ins EWR or JFK? Thanks in advance for the advice.

Welcome to FlyerTalk Galileo787.

I moved your post to the Global Entry Walk-In Interviews thread.

According to the Wiki, your chances at JFK are better.

Thanks for the advice TWA884!
I'll just do that instead of going to EWR.

Done. Thank you for sharing. Never hurt to ask. Now two lucky individuals can have your 22 & 30 Sept 2016 appointments at EWR.

BOS - yes [15] (9/18/16 10AM)

I had an appointment today, but my wife's was one week later. We arrived at the office 15 minutes earlier. There was only one lady waiting. I was called in about 10 minutes before the schedule with the lady (yes, two officers). My interview was done in 5 minutes. Then the officer asked me if my wife also applied for the GE. I told him that her schedule was one week later and I would appreciate it if he could interview her today. He smiled and said he would do it if there were no people waiting. Indeed, there was no one waiting and he let my wife in. We both got approved on the spot and out the airport in 30 minutes ($3 parking fee).

SFO - yes [6h 15m] (9/18/16 3am)

Here's a recap of my experience, and what I learned speaking with other walk-ins:
ARRIVAL TIMES
After reading many reports of SFO's walk-in waiting list being limited to 6 people per day, I erred on the side of caution by arriving at 3 am. It turns out that I could have saved a couple hours, since the next people on the wait list arrived at 5:30am, 5:45am, 6:25am, 6:50am, and 7:00am. That said, I'm glad I got there early for two reasons: (1) I live nearly 2 hours away from SFO, so I was really motivated to avoid returning home empty-handed, and (2) it appears that Sunday mornings might be slower than normal; one of the others had tried on a Saturday morning and was turned away after the list filled up much sooner.

THE WAIT
Staff showed up at 6:45am and began regularly scheduled appointments promptly at 7am after verifying who was there. A few minutes later, they passed around a wait list for up to six walk-ins. As the first on the list, I ended up being called in about 9:15am. The fifth person on the list later reported that the other walk-ins had their names called at 9:35am, 9:50am, 10am, and 10:10am. So, on this particular day, the office managed to get all 6 walk-ins processed within 4 hours of opening the door for scheduled interviews. YMMV.

SECOND SHIFT
Back to the list: once it reached 6 names around 7am, the staff advised subsequent walk-ins to come back around the time of the office's shift change at 3:30pm. This was consistent with some reviews I'd read on another site, including a couple who successfully walked-in the previous Sunday afternoon (they were numbers 3 & 4 on the afternoon list after showing up at 2:45pm, and they had to wait 4 hours for their names to be called.) The key takeaway I got from that report and my experience is that folks can ignore the GE website's posted hours for Sundays at the SFO office (8am - 3:30pm); it looks like they keep the same interview hours every day of the week, at least for the time being.
Overall, I was very pleased with the experience; the staff was courteous, and the walk-ins formed a camaraderie that was helpful when someone needed to step out of line to go to the restroom or grab a coffee. But most of all, I'm glad that I put this task behind me in time for a couple upcoming trips. I didn't need to wait 6 months for my scheduled interview, and prospects for rescheduling at SFO are low since they're *slammed*... NorCal is home to 40% of California's huge 38 million population yet has just 1 of the state's 7 enrollment sites.
