Global Entry Walk-In Interviews

Does GE still do walk-in interviews where they will take you after everyone else has shown up ? The next first available in Chicago is in October and my wife needs it for a trip in September. When I got mine last year, I also had a crazy wait for an interview but they let me interview just by walking in. Anyone else done this recently ?

Where I went in Seattle would not have accepted walk ins, I am not sure about other locations. They had a steady stream of scheduled appointments that morning and they turned down a walk in while I was there. Keep checking the dates, another will open up as there are always cancelations. When I tried to get an earlier date for Seattle as my first appointment was weeks out, I kept checking. Dates kept opening the next day and also a week out. I already had a scheduled appointment and once you have the appointment set you can always go into the system to change it. Just check frequently when she is available to go in immediately as in a day or two or following week.

I know JFK is only walk ins, no appointments

When i did my walkin i had to wait 3 hours. I just figured as popular as GE is becoming they may not be allowing that at all anymore.

This is not at all true. My wife had an appointment at JFK and the calendar was wide open there. We ended up arriving about 90 minutes early and they took her but it was definitely possible to get an appointment.

My understanding is that they'll try to fit you in between the actual appointments. If they really are full and everyone shows up that could mean a long wait.

If your wife is traveling between now and then and going through an airport that does interviews, you might want to try that. We filled out an application for my wife in late May, she got the conditional approval pretty quickly. I checked on PHL airport when she got approved and we were able to schedule the interview 3-4 days later on a Sunday.

I showed up 2 hours early for an appointment in Boston. I waited 5 minutes and got in. I really think it varies from day-to-day and location-to-location.

Try the Ambassador bridge GE "office" (really a trailer at the foot of the bridge to Canada) near downtown Detroit. They are not nearly as busy as the airport GE offices. When my wife & I were there last April it was not very busy.

My GE interview in FLL was a walk-in. Very short wait and and an easy process.

Anyone know if DFW accepts walk in's? We would have to drive for five hours to get there so don't really want to make the trip unless I can get the interview. Would like to go this weekend.

EXPLAT, did you get a reply? Same question for ORD.

Reviving an old thread, but this is the first one that comes up when searched: tried to walk-in at ORD today, agent informed me they no longer accept walk-ins. Thought I might have better luck showing up instead of calling and asking, but no dice despite the lack of people in the waiting area.

The last time I was in the office in ORD, someone came in asking for a walk-in interview. They were told that ORD no longer allows walk-ins and that you must schedule on-line. YMMV, but I got the impression this was something they were pretty serious about adhering to now.

Back in May I was able to walk in at IAD. The only appointment available online was several weeks out so I called the office to see if I could walk in. The agent said it would be fine, though I may need to wait day of.

Keep checking the appointment calendar. People cancel all the time and slots will open.

I did a walk-in between flights in MIA. The agents said I could wait, couldn't guarantee anything, but it was possible. I waited about an hour, interview took all of ten minutes, so I was pleased.
