I happened to look at UA 628 on 5/25. As it happens, this flight number is applied to three consecutive segments (at least two of which are actually different aircraft). There is no View Extended Comments. Does this only apply to single-sector flights? Is there a way to limit the flight status search to a particular sector?

Today we have released several new features that many of our subscribers have asked for:
"Less Than" Flight Alerts*
"Less Than" Flight Alerts*
- In addition to Flight Alerts that let you know when an award/upgrade/fare class is at least a certain value, now you can set an alert to notify you when inventory drops below a certain value.
- By selecting the "Less Than" option when creating the alert, ExpertFlyer will alert you when the inventory starts to drop, allowing you to take advantage of inventory before it disappears.
Can anyone offer guidelines or suggestions for what threshold to use when determining when to book?

Thanks! Just keep in mind that the inventory can go from 3 to 0, as an example, without going to 2 or 1 first. One use would be to see when an inventory class starts to come down from it's maximum value (e.g. less then 7 or 9).

ExpertflyerVoice Can you give an explanation of the following anomaly with Oneworld RTW pricing on EF.
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/16587073-post35.html
An AONE6 ex-KRT priced in $AU on Expertflyer returns $AU8080 which at the current Rate of Exchange is $US8600. But if you price the fare in $US on Expertflyer it returns a fare of $US9870

Let me put in here a big plug for ExpertFlyer. Even though I'm very much a travel geek, I resisted paying the bucks to get this service until a few months ago. Man, is this useful. I'm quickly finding the award and upgrade information that used to be such a laborious process.
If you look at your miles as your ticket into the premium cabins, EF is well worth the fee.

Because GDSs can calculate exchange rates using either the real exchange rate or the IATA one. Please read our response on the thread as it explains it with examples.

Can I find YQ for IT fares on Expertflyer? The published IT fares are quite a long way short of what you actually pay due to I think YQ.

V FARE BASIS BK FARE TRAVEL-TICKET AP MINMAX RTG
1 AONE6 AR 8548.00 ---- - 10/12M RW01
What does the 8548.00 reflect obviously not the $US price of $9870?

If they are published in the rules, you can look at the Surcharges section in the Fare Rules of the fare. However some fuel surcharges only show up once an itinerary is priced, it depends on how the airline files the surcharges.

I'm trying to understand, I truly am (and have read the explanation in the other thread) When I look at the routing details for this fare I see:
V FARE BASIS BK FARE TRAVEL-TICKET AP MINMAX RTG
1 AONE6 A‡R 8548.00 ---- - 10/12M RW01
What does the 8548.00 reflect obviously not the $US price of $9870?

Since this is a conversation that is taking place in another thread, please continue it there if you have any further questions, or email us at [email protected]

I signed up for ExpertFlyer's trial just to see how it works and I'm trying to see how to get from MCO->VCE aboard AA and it's partners and which flights have seats, etc.
If I put in MCO->VCE for 05/10/12 and just select the award flights on AA, there are a lot of AZ (DL) results, but nothing showing IB. I then added in connecting cities to MAD and then IB shows up and it shows seats available.
I tried to call the reservation line and they don't see IB's seats.
What am I doing wrong? :x

That aside, as is stated at the top of the Award & Upgrade results page:
•American Award & Upgrade availability is not valid for codeshares. Click here for more information
If you click on the link you will see:
•Codeshares: When requesting AAnytime award classes (F/J/Y) or the A upgrade class, American may return codeshare flights because they also represent regular fare classes on codeshares. AAnytime awards, however, are not valid on codeshare flights.
This also applies to any award class if the GDS can't find AA flights that have Z/U/T etc inventory on them, it may insert other airline flight connection that have those classes just to satisfy the search critera. That is why they show up as blank (without any classes) as ExpertFlyer filters them out as we know that it's not a valid result for your search.
