[Amadeus: Awards/OneWorld] Method
Due to the recent changes to the [Amadeus: Awards/OneWorld] engine, the [Extended Mode] option must be activated for all searches using that Method.

When attempting to run OneWorld award reservation, I get the error "Error 13: Type Mismatch [Inet]. KVS - any idea what it might be?

Sabre: Fares/DotRes method, BDA-MLE 11/20/08-12/1/08, airlines YY returns no fares found. Restricting airlines to EK returns a bunch of EK fares.
|
DotRes: Fare rules for basis EK/WLX4MUS1, BDA-MLE, are truncated. Looks like everything shows up under ZUJ.

INF fare
Hi,
I am looking to find the cheapest available economy fare on JFK-SVO-JFK route on Delta for specific dates and flights: JFK-SVO:Aug 09 on DL30 SVO-JFK:Sep 04 on DL31. The airline quoted $250, which is supposted to be 10% of economy available at that time. Will this tool help me to find cheaper option? thanks |
I seem to be getting errors using the travelocity/zuji fare search. "Unable to Retrieve Fares"

However, the charge for INF is 10% of the ADT fare + 100% of the fuel surcharge ($250). [KVS Availability Tool 3.1.2/Platinum - Sabre: Fares/DotRes/US] Code:

New UA Award Feature - Code Definition
Can you advise where I can get an explanation of the award codes that show up under this new feature? These appear to be the award codes (NF1 XF0 NC0 XC0 G1 NY2 XY2) but I'm not sure which are upgrades and which are for seats?

I see that you have used an @gmx.de e-mail address, and that server rejected the reply, which contained your Registration Code.

HI KVS - Just started using today.
How is the RTW function used to validate a trip say against the Oneworld Explorer rules? I see the list of fares that it brings up but maybe I'm missing something. I was hoping that this tool would validate the availability of a chosen RTW itinery say IAH-LHR-SIN-SYD-IAH and show if on chosen dates such a trip is available on the Economy L booking class code rules. Does it do anything like this or do I need to check each leg separately. If it does not, is there a tool that does such? The oneworld website will validate a route, but will not check flight availability let alone booking class for you. |

I have noticed a few fares coming up on KVS for airlines that do not fly nor codeshare into YQR. Is there any way to book, for example, the fares noted below? If not, what might their purpose be? Thanks.

Is anyone else having problems with the Amadeus timetable function? Since a week or two, sometimes it works, but most of the time it doesn't work, it just keeps on showing "transfering data..." but nothing ever gets transfered. I've done some trouble shooting with the tool page but it still doesn't seem to work out.
Mostly, when I first open the tool, I can do two or three searches but after that it's done. What's more, I have exactly the same problem on a different computer in my office. Thanks for the help. |

Star Alliance Award
Just received my Platinum membership info as well as an ANA account and the first querey I made came up a bullseye.
2 seats on LH480 (DEN-MUC) on Oct 17: FS- CS- FY+ Then I called United 1K desk (as I wanted to adjust the seats I already booked) and they did not see any new seats. Hmmm. Did I do something wrong? I guess the KVS tool show seats available on flight via M&M (not MP)... any way to search for United awards on LH flight? |
KVS is pulling inventory from the All Nippon Airways website. That shows you what Star Alliance member airlines are making available as awards to their partners (except it does not show you availability on Swiss or Air China). That's pretty much going to be a 100% match with what all Star Alliance airlines then offer to their members -- except United.
Go to the United forum here on Flyertalk and search for 'starnet'. Lufthansa *is* offering the award seat to their partners. United just refuses to book it, and their agents say/think it is not available which isn't true. United is filtering out/blocking those seats from being booked to save money. This is especially common with Lufthansa, and also with Thai Airways Europe - Asia, but creeps up on other routes and carriers as well. Used to be much easier than it is today to get an agent to do a 'manual sell' where they send a message to the airline requesting the award space, and since the award space is available it comes back quickly as confirmed. But UA agents aren't allowed to do this, have gotten memos about it, and can be fired if they do. Your best bet is to either (a) search for award space on carriers other than Lufthansa, or to try back -- sometimes the inventory will open back up / United will stop blocking, perhaps (one theory) they reach a quota in a given period of time and then lock down the award space. So bottom line is this is not a problem with the tool. And it is not something you are doing wrong, other tran trying to redeem miles via United MIleage Plus when UA doesn't want you to. If you were calling up US Airways or bmi or another Star carrier they would most likely happily book these flights for you. ^ |
Thanks for the response, gleff. Frustrating but understandable policy... Glad to know it was not a case of 'user error'.
Kudos on a nifty tool... :D |
How long have people had to wait for their registrations? I signed up to Platinum this morning then noticed it mentioned waiting 3-5 days for completion - does it generally take that long? Had been hoping to book up some flights asap but might have to cross my fingers and hope the availability stays now...
