While neither option is particularly useful to the majority of users, one can both translate the data into the actual booking classes, as well as determine the actual number of seats available by following the relevant instructions in the KVS Tool User Guide/FAQ.

Except for a very few carriers, regular and award booking classes do not mix and cannot be a part of the same query.

I seem to be getting a blank page when I try to retrieve the Amadeus Operational Info.

Is that not working anymore?

OK, I'm lost.

I have downloaded the Tool.

I have requested the Registration Code and it turned up overnight.

Now what do I do ? I don't see anywhere on the KVS homepage where I "log in" or similar.

And, believe it or not, I've worked in IT all my career ..... !

Just open up the tool.

Click on the "Keys" icon at the top right.

Select the "Register/Verify Registration" option then paste in your Registration Code.

That feature is temporarily down, but it will be restored in the next version.

Are you sure that it is a good idea to post that in a public forum? :D

Hi gang,

i was just playing around with this great tool.
When i search for LH756 next Thursday i get:

This flight on the way back is turning into LH757 every day, but when i use SWAP and enter 29.03.08 the flight is not showing up:

You probably have the time set to maybe 7am or 8am.

LH757 leaves BOM @ 03:25 so you have to set the time for the search to 00:00.

I always keep my time set to: "(any)" in the tool...

Note that I just tried this with my Platinum subscription, and Apollo is only showing the same info. (1 flight, LH 1611)

In Sabre I see LH757.

I would try using the tool at: www.seatcounter.com - that site has a link to a GDS similar to Sabre, I think....

The exact meaning of "(Any Time)" varies by Engine/GDS.

As mentioned in the KVS Tool FAQ, "If the flight departs very early (e.g. 03 [am]) or very late (e.g. 23:50), you may need to specify a specific value in the [Time:] field to make such a flight appear":

KVS - Error searching for Awards/StarAlliance
 

Hello,

I am getting an error message that shows "Initialization Error" "" when performing a search for availability. Is anyone else experiencing this? I can search regular fares through Sabre: ITN or Galileo: ETR, etc. however need to check *A awards availability.

Will very much appreciate if someone is able to advise ASAP if they are experiencing the same issue.

On a side note, is there a way of searching award availability by month rather than searching through each day?

I have newly subscribed to the Lite version of the KVS tool. I found some irregularities with Qatar Airways flights displays. E.g., when searching for DOH-MUC on April 2, it does not display the widely open nonstop flight QR9. Any thoughts why?

Zuji Fare Rules
 

The Zuji fare rules don't seem to be working anymore.

Appears to be OK for me - slower than normal but displaying fare rules OK

Indeed, there are no current issues to report with the Fares/ZUJ Method. babbyf: Could you pls be a bit more specific?

Does KVS show ALL fares between two ports?
 

I ask because, using a local travel agent's web site and searching for 'PER to ORD via NRT on 13-Sep-08' I see two fares, both with AA for AUD1935 and AUD 2133 (the higher fare allows stopovers in TYO and LAX). Yet using KVS' ZUJ Fares, the lowest fare dispayed is for AUD2365 and DotRes' fares are even higher.

The web site is holidayplanet.com.au, if that's relevant at all. I searched this thread but couldn't find anything on this topic

KVS Tool shows all published fares. The fares in question appear to be holidayplanet.com.au's private/confidential/consolidator fares, and are only available via that booking source.

Also, keep in mind that holidayplanet.com.au does not actually support online bookings, so there is no way to tell if the fares shown are even still valid or applicable to your itinerary...

I am using version 3.1.0.

I've figured out why it wasn't working for me. I had the POS set as "AU", but I'm guessing the redesign of the AU Zuji site has screwed things up. But it works if I change the POS to "SG".

When I call SK resevations they say there is no award availability for any of the flights.

In fact they say there is no seat left even to purchase.

When I go to Singapore Airlines web site I also get no seats for sale.

Looks like SQ had [mis-]loaded incorrect award availability data for that flight into StarNet ...

problem getting DL seat maps -graphical
 

Seems once you select (for DL flights) a Apollo seat map in First when u go back and select economy Y it will only display the F seats. Used BOS to ATL
and select Y and it pulls up F graphical. Same thing with Appolo text. Armadeus text works OK.

What's the flight number/date?

If the flight is zeroed-out in that cabin, you cannot use the Apollo seat map options. In those cases, Amadeus should be used instead.

Hi,
currently I'm facing with a problem in using KVS tools.
When I use in a direct Internet connecting environment, it works fine. However,
when I use in a company LAN which requires proxy setting, KVS generates "data source error" for the initial try, and ">>>>>>> time out" for the second try.
I confirmed IE (IE7) setting was correct, and could reach to the multiple Internet site through this settings from IE7.
How shall I investigate the cause of this problem next?
(In the past, when I was using IE6, I could use KVS tools even in this company LAN environment).

As I'm using Japanese version Windows XP, so I could not read the detailed message after "Data Source Error", just several meaningless Kanji characters are displayed.
As for the trouble shooting, I've checked Cookies, but I could not find "Proxy Authentication Options" under the purple button, I could only find "Internet Options" under the button. Where can I find the "Proxy Authentication Options"?
