In the meantime, if there is a particular city pair you are interested in, just post it here and I will try to look it up for you :).

P.S. There is always this: http://www.IATA.org/ps/publications/mileage.htm :D

Yikes!! Have you seen the prices on those things? $100k for the web download?:eek::eek::eek:

I looked through the FAQ at the start of the thread but could not find a definite answer.

KE and AZ are the only two SkyTeam airlines, which the not supported by the [ITA: Awards/SkyTeam] Method, and I strongly suspect that that is due to their [semi-]manual handling of award bookings. See this recent thread regarding award bookings on another Asia-based carrier: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=711385

Online companion (plat) and viewing seatmaps for J/C/F

Hey KVS, just wondering if the above can be done - just to see the seat map of those cabins when we are away from the program on our normal access point(s) so we can choose flights to maximize our upgrade potential. Thanks, PC

Not only it can be done, but it is already done -- enjoy!

Used the tool for the first time, and I am trying to reconcile what I see when I pull up a fare on the tool with what I see when I search on Delta.com.

I pull up the following info using the tool, and it shows 9 for L and U fares. However when I pull the same info up on Delta's site, the cheapest round trip fare available is a K fare at $877. The return flight has the same availability on the fare codes as well. What gives, and what am I missing?

See the KVS Tool FAQ under "Q: Availability display shows lots of seats in fare class X for a flight between AAA and BBB, but when I try to book those flights, they book into a more expensive class Y."

You need to check the rules of the fare you are trying to book.

What kind of a problem are you having? I've just tried it and it worked fine for CX flights.

After I saw your message, I tried JFK to HKG. The seatmap did come up:confused:

It was the stop (in ANC), which was causing the problem with the Galileo engine. It will be corrected in the next version. In the meantime, here is the seat map:

Any ideas why it only shows one daily flight on the BKK-LHR sector on TG? There should be two flights a day?

On some methods if the flight is too early it doesn't pick it up. Set your "Time" to 00:00 and it will find the early ones too. Or use another method - Sabre seems to find them all.

Setting the time to 00:00 did the trick! Thanks! ^

Currently unable to use Apollo: ITN -- runs for a long time then shows me Disconnected.

Error 35761: Request Timed Out [Inet]

Is this a current connectivity issue with Apollo ITN? Others appear to function.

Must have been a transient issue -- just tried it, and everything seems to be working fine ...

Yes appears to be back online.

You cannot check availability/fares to/from Cuba using a US POS, due to the embargo.

For availability, you will need to select Galileo. For fares, you will need to select DotRes and one of the non-US POSs.

Indeed, Galileo had, regretfully, decommissioned the the TravelGalileo platform (www.travelgalileo.com) a couple of days ago.

For SQ seat maps, please now use the WSpan option.

On the second thought, there may be another source for Galileo seat maps, which is still alive! It is currently being tested, and if everything goes well, it will be incorporated into the upcoming version ...

Version 2.9.0: What's New

By popular request, I am pleased to announce the arrival of the Star Alliance Availability checker module (Beta). All existing and new Platinum-tier users will be automatically given access to this new feature (as described below).

What's New in Version 2.9.0
  • New [SNT: Awards/StarAlliance] Method

    • Shows available awards on Star Alliance carriers (AC/NZ/NH/OZ/OS/BD/LO/LH/SQ/TG/SA/UA/US)
    • ANA Mileage Club Card Number and PIN required to use this Method; instant online enrolment available at https://cam.ana.co.jp/psz/amc/jsp/regist1_e.jsp
    • Does not support the use of City Codes (e.g. LON should be entered as LHR or LGW)
      Code:

Carrier  Flight From Depart    To  Arrive    A/C      Availability
      --------- ------ ---- --------- ---- --------- ---- ---- -------------
      UA        935    LHR  10:35    LAX  13:51    777      FS-  CS-  YS+
      NZ        1      LHR  16:15    LAX  19:30    744      FS/  CS+  YS-

Legend: YS = Economy Award, CS = Business Award, FS = First Award. "+" = The requested number of seats is available; "-" = The requested number of seats is not available; "/" = Cabin not applicable.

A very welcome improvement, thank you. Do you think the same might be possible for OW?

M+ Availability doesn't work for me

My UA password is six digits... and I don't have an ANA log-in.

AFAIK it only works with an ANA username / password not an UA one even if checking UA availability.

Sabre ITN appears NOT to be working

Sabre ITN access apears not to be working. Get "Datasource ERROR" & "Processing Error". All other access tools including sabre fares are OK. Sabre ITN is the only accurate access for AA availability.

Worldspan?

Just downloaded ver2.9.0 - no longer have an option to search Worldspan. Did I miss something? Was this planned?

I, too, am getting the same error using Sabre.
