Did I miss something that informed me it was on;y for specific airlines?

The Galileo Seat Map option supports virtually all airlines worldwide, and it appears that US is the only carrier so far that it is unable to show seat maps for.

Thanks for the info -- the Tool will display an appropriate error message as of the next update.

Now I don't feel so inept! :)

I don't think I can use KVS because I am on a Mac. Does anyone know -- as a one-time check for me -- if there is NF upgrade availability on UAL SFO-SYD (#863) for anytime March 13-16, 2008?

Thank you,

KVS Tool cannot display UA's upgrade booking classes at the moment.

However, to answer your question, UA 863 is currently NF3 on 13 Mar, NF 0 on 14 Mar, NF2 on 15 Mar, and NF3 on 16 Mar.

Soon to be *A partners, FM and CA are showing O I X availability. I know for sure on CA O I X are award seats but I'm not sure if FM has adopted it yet.

Thx for the info -- I have added CA info the table in the FAQ. If you are able to confirm FM's award/upgrade booking classes, pls let me know.

Not at the moment (it used to in the past).

Nevertheless, I continue to look for ways of adding such functionality ...

Cannot seem to retrieve PNRs

Hello KVS,

First of all, thanks for a wonderful tool!

Now to the issue: I cannot seem to be able to retrieve any PNR. I have two reservations with CO (made on co.com, which I understand might be the reason why I can't see them) and one with UA/NZ made through Orbitz (the mistake C fare) which I also fail to see! Any ideas?

I searched the thread for similar issues, but you cannot search for PNR (the three letter rule) and I did not see any similar issues while searching for Orbitz)

Thanks!

E.

P.S.: I should add that I also cannot see the sample PNRs provided near the beginning of this thread...

KVS, can you tap into an AC booking (if possible) to review your online AC.com booked reservation? Thanks, PC

Regarding the CO booking made directly with them, please see the FAQ located at the top of this thread.

As for the Orbitz booking, have you tried all PNR locators, provided by them? There are likely to be multiple locator codes, and you need to check each one with each of the 4 GDS systems.

The list of sample PNRs has now been updated to remove the ones that no longer function.

hi all,

I'm testing out the lite version of kvs. I'm looking for availability between HKG and HNL for an award ticket on July 17th or 23rd as part of multi-city trip on Northwest. Im trying to see the approximately how many seats are open for general purchasing and hoped that it will tell me the chances of getting the an award seat. According to NW Site, there are perksaver award spaces available on the 23rd and perkpass on the 17th.
I was playing around with the program and looked at the whole week btwn the 16th and 23rd..and saw that the 17th had much availability.
Anyways, my question is:
when I use KVS to search HKG-HNL on Jul 17th it says that there are many seats open in economy-K,T,L, ETC. all have 9. on both HKG-NRT NRT-HNL but when I search the segments seperately..the HKG-NRT flight is showing no seats in K... results are very different. anyone know why that is? how many seats are actually available?

Thanks

Airlines allow different number of fare classes depending on bookings and routing. While there may be more seats for sale from HNL-NRT (they probabky charge more) they may have a lower number available for ticketing HNL-HKG. A beter example there may be on 2 seats for sale from Austin to Dallas. But if you book Austin to Dallas to Narita there are 9 seats available. The airline saves the seats for longer and higher revenue bookings. Closer to flight times they will chage the availability for the shorter/lower fare flights.

What's New in Version 2.8.0
  • New Seat Map Options

  • Automatic Update Notification

What's New in Version 2.8.1
  • Access to the [Apollo-ITN] Method and the [Apollo] Seat Maps restored.

What's New in Version 2.8.2

This is a known issue with those 2 engines, and it is mentioned in KVS Availability Tool FAQ, Part 1. In any case, Sabre (which is AA's native system) is always the best source for the most accurate AA availability data. You can also use Galileo.

Unfortunately, there is currently no way of showing AA award/upgrade availability, but if I do find a way to make that possible, it would immediately become available to Platinum-tier members, such as yourself.

[Sabre: Fares/ZUJ] Method is currently returning fares in SGD and AUD only

Due to the recent changes in that engine, the [Sabre: Fares/ZUJ] Method is currently returning fares in SGD and AUD only.

I will be working on adding a currency conversion function to [Sabre: Fares/ZUJ] in the upcoming version. In the meantime, Platinum-tier members can use the [Sabre: Fares/DotRes] method, which can already display fares in every imaginable currency of one's choice.

I may revisit this as my E/F renewal is imminent and I may choose to not do so.

A couple of Questions:
  • What sort of the information does the
    PNR/Itinerary Retrieval Manager obtain?
  • Does the PNR Manager work for AA?
  • Can I use it on multiple machines with the one registration (Work PC, Laptop, Home PC)?
Cheers ...

The PNR Manager stores the list of your PNRs in a single place, and can take you directly to the chosen PNR on the corresponding airline's website: http://kvs.unrealnetwork.com/Tool/Screenshots.php#PNR

As per the above list, AA PNRs are not currently supported, unless the booking was made via a TA (online or otherwise), in which case, it should be retrievable using the appropriate GDS option.

OK, so for Qantas it would take me to the web page found at http://www.qantas.com.au/regions/do/dyn/yourBooking by entering PRN and surname and clicking GO.

Welcome to FT!

Romulus Jul 12, 2007 5:57 pm

Registration key received, thank you.

I seem to have difficulty showing any of the seat maps. I've tried different search methods but have no luck showing any of the domestic seat maps with the different carriers within Australia.

Am I missing something?

Well, QF does not offer advance seat assignments on its domestic flights (see http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=637154), so, consequently, there are no seat maps ...

You're right... only, shouldn't the program mentioning it has to be updated? It normally does say that.

Not sure if its possible, but is there any way to use the KVS Tool to check MPM (MAXIMUM PERMITTED MILEAGE) for a particular routing ?

Indeed, this would be a useful feature, and I will keep it mind for the future versions.

In the meantime, if there is a particular city pair you are interested in, just post it here and I will try to look it up for you :).

P.S. There is always this: http://www.IATA.org/ps/publications/mileage.htm :D

Thanks for the offer :)

Can you please look up these pairs:

Indeed, this would be a useful feature, and I will keep it mind for the future versions.

In the meantime, if there is a particular city pair you are interested in, just post it here and I will try to look it up for you :).

P.S. There is always this: http://www.IATA.org/ps/publications/mileage.htm :D

Any Ideas for KE Reward Availbility?

KVS,

Can the tool see KE's D bucket (reward business)?

I looked through the FAQ at the start of the thread but could not find a definite answer.

Thanks!
