What? KVS is dead?
Never mind. Sabre fare inquiry is working, seems to be a Galileo thing Please re-start the KVS Tool and try again. |
I've been trying to do ITA searches from KVS via the right click option. So far, ten different fares all return the "No Trips Found" message from ITA.. Any ideas? Is this KVS & ITA not talking to each other properly?
thanks fs |

What are the city pairs/dates/Fare(s) in question? |
I can get Sabre:FS to show but not Z class on VA
|
I just looked up the routing rules (YOW-MXP) by the Sabre Dot/Res method (and also the Galileo method); in both cases I could only get one permitted routing combination displayed.
What am I doing wrong? [KVS Availability Tool 5.7.4/Diamond - Routing Rules: YOW-MXP/AC/ZXRC30/3346 CAD] Code:

Can anyone point me to another free tool, this one seems to have disappeared:
http://flyaow.com/classavailability.htm I maintain it. Let me know if you run into trouble with it. The current inventory source is new (I used to use the same one that went offline) so I'm still finding bugs, but it is mostly working most of the time. :o |

Is there information available using the KVS tool or elsewhere where it will show what Booking classes are mapped to on another airline?
I read on another link that they are not always linked by booking class, but also routing dependent? IE - NH-C = AC-J |
A question re: routing:
If it says that one needs to go on AC/LH or AC/LX or AC/LH/LX from a European hub to MXP - does that mean that only AC codeshared flights from the hub city to MXP are eligible for the fare, or does it mean that AC or LH or LX flights between the city pair are eligible, whether or not AC codeshares on those flights?

These are Routing-based fares, so MPM does not apply:

I'm sure I'm making this harder than it is...but I can't figure out if the MCT for AC-TG connection at PVG is 120 or 180 minutes.

IE - NH-C = AC-J If you ask about codesharing (less likely) then it is only the airlines being parts of the agreement which have the information. For a passenger such information can only be useful for 'free-sell' codeshare agreements when you want to guess whether or not specific class opened by operating carrier will trigger the opening of a certain class by a marketing carrier. |

It is also quite useful information on codeshares for *A carriers when trying to determine how many miles one will earn on a trip.
1) Codesharing: PAR-ROM flight, operated by AF but coded as AZ and governed by AZ fare. The booking class is determined by AZ fare (the fare's RBD chart 1; RBD chart 2 is irrelevant here). 2) Interline MOW-AZ-ROM-DL-NYC. The fare is filed by DL but allows to have AZ-coded segments. RBD chart 1 information only applies to ROM-NYC segment which is DL coded. To find out what booking class should be used for AZ segment you go to RBD chart 2. |
YWG-YYZ Sept 6
I'm on AC 268 at 16:00 from YWG-YYZ. I can't seem to check R space as seatcounter is down. Would somebody be so kind as to check for me?

Trouble Finding non-DL Skyteam Awards
Hi,
New to the KVS Tool, and have found it quite useful. The only problem I've come across thus far is that I've been looking for an award ticket from BOS to CAI, and when I search the Awards/Upgrades tab with DLM: Awards/Skyteam and Airline = *S Skyteam [DL/KL/AF] + AS, all I get is DL results, through ATL, JFK, etc. I've tried flights from BOS to CDG and FCO, and other places, assuming AF and AZ direct flights might come up -- again, all I end up with is DL flights. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance for the assistance. |

For AF awards, it's currently best to use the [Sabre: FS] Method (via the [Availability] tab) -- please see http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Classes for details: [KVS Availability Tool 5.7.4/Diamond - Sabre: Availability/FS/US] Code:

Amadeus seat map down
Amadeus seat map is not available, and there is no another way to have a look on seat Map (as Galileo before)
I have, for several weeks these two answers: first, in the four cabin, with Amadeus text "Seat Map is unavailable or unsupportedfor this flight, cabin or carrier" Please try a different Seat Map Method" second, same with Amadeus-enhanced: "Error Retrieving Seat Map Data: "Amadeus-Unable to process-" As it is for AF flight I am very surprised... Last research was for CDG-JNB on AF990, this evening. Any solution? |

Happy to be renewing for our 4th time!
Knowledge is power, and KVS was invaluable earlier this year when I was stranded in Asia thanks to the ash clouds. Real time availability could show me where KLM had seat availability whilst the airline was saying on the phone that all flights were full. Two days later, when that flight was also cancelled, I could do a full all-Asia to Europe check and find what was available, and call the airline with the information.
The flight I found (which was eventually overbooked by 80 people) resulted in me coming home to Europe via a new routing, rather than sitting in Asia for a further three days at minimum. Well done KVS! ^ |
Does KVS show RJ availability?
trying to check availability on Royal Jordanian (OneWorld)...so I can use my AA miles to fly them to DXB from the U.S.
No matter how far out I go, I get no availability.........is this possible?? or am I doing something wrong? |

I haven't been able to get routing rules for any fares since yesterday, the window pops up but I get some sort of error:
For example: INVLD CATEGORY >4FBWISFOXXXUXXXR7KN-UA#RTG It's been this way a few airlines I've tried. Also, why can we only request routing rules once per minute and like 2 every 5 minutes? ExpertFlyer doesn't seem to have this limitation so I'm curious as to why KVS does. |

Opening a URL in KVS Tool
I use KVS Tool from within a virual machine using VMWare Fusion on a Mac. I've got VMWare Tools set up to open Firefox on my Mac as the default browser.
Unfortunately, when I try to open a URL from within KVS, it creates a local file, inaccessible from outside the VM, that redirects to the URL, and points the default browser at that. It looks like VMWare Tools (or Windows?) realizes the URL is local and opens Firefox inside the VM instead of Firefox outside the VM. Does anyone have a workaround for this? I'd really like to not have to use Firefox inside the VM. It would be nice if the KVS tool opened the URL directly, instead of using a level of redirection. Thanks |

Sounds like you need to make the Windows TEMP directory a Host/Guest Shared Folder & set-up an association for .HTM files, as described at http://Communities.VMWare.com/thread/166177
I don't want to set all temp files to go to the host operating system, so I did the following: * Using the Sharing Tab in the Virtual Machine settings, I created a new shared folder (called "VMWare Temp"). It lives somewhere on my Mac filesystem, and shows up in Windows as Z:\VMWare Temp * Created a file "KVS.bat" that lives somewhere on my C:\ drive in the windows VM. It contains the following: Code:
set TMP=Z:\VMWare Temp\* Added KVS.bat to my start menu. Made the name pretty and made it use the pretty KVS Tool icon. * Instead of starting up the KVS tool directly, I use the KVS.bat I made, and it automatically opens URLs on my Mac where I want them. This makes KVS way more usable with VMWare Fusion, especially in Unity mode. |
