Thank you, for that information.

I am waiting for the day when the online companion has the same level of functionality as the icon-accessible KVS tool.

Are there particular tools/methods that you're looking for? There may be other options out there to meet those needs for you, though perhaps they would be better discussed in a different thread as then they wouldn't be KVS-specific.

V Australia flights

All "V Australia" flights show as "Volare Airlines"

Thanks

KVS tool -and web access for those who do not have laptops?

I would prefer all KVS functionalities - but the ones I use most often are the following:

1) Star Alliance award seats (including LX).
2) number of upgrade seats available on AC

My point being that the next upgrade for the KVS tool might be that for people such as myself, who do not use laptops (or any other personal communication device), that it would be nice to use and access all functionalities of KVS through PCs of hotel business centres and of airline lounges, when travelling.

The expertflyer.com tool, whatever else you might say when comparing with the KVS tool, does have that ability to access anywhere around the world (and in fact, it advertises that as a major selling point, when comparing with the KVS tool).

It's an issue with the ITN engine, for which a work-around will be implemented in the next update.

"DataSources error" of "Uses miles"

Did anyone start to notice this morning the error of ""DataSources Error" -- "Uses miles" when trying to search for Skyteam award? I've already upgraded to 5.4.5 version already...

Thanks

The issue has now been resolved, and an updated version of the KVS Tool (V5.4.7) is available for download.

Thanks for such a quick turnaround. It works now, but I have noticed that many AS availability is not showing up. Tried many dates/routes such as SEA->YVR/SFO/LAX during middle Feb, 2011, in most cases, I got either empty availability or at most some YM (is YS all gone suddently? I saw a bunch last night)

Thanks again

Thanks! Now Skymile Award works beautifully! (except that I still can't find the seats for the itinerary I want, but I guess that you can't help here;))

One minor question still, with all the recent updates, which setting/method is now used to pull out "Availability" for MU (China Eastern) route? I am looking for LAX->WUH (during mid Feb, 2011). On the old 5.4.4 KVSTool, I did see there is one route available on MU carrier of LAX->PVG (MU586) -> WUH (MU 2512) (confirmed with itasoftware), but now I am not able to find the leg of PVG->WUH (MU 2512, leaves at 9:10pm), I've tried all methods in the drop down list... but still not able to find it...

Thanks

This appears to be an issue between MU and the GDSs (and is not related to the update):

Easily at EWR - provided you are not coming in from an international destination, where you *might* be delayed by long immigration lines, even as a US citizen...

Your understanding is correct. Therefore, 85 min would be an illegal connection if you are trying to have both flights on a single ticket or are checking baggage.

I have never used KVS or any other similar program, After reading a bit of the Q&A, it looks like you can learn quite quickely on how to use the tool.
Any comments on how easy/hard it is to learn how to use KVS for basic function:

Award
MR
avail/pricing

Thanks

What does "CX+" mean? Listed under the Availability column, Awards/Upgrades tab, Delta international flight?

Thanks

"+" usually means space is available. C usually business class. Not sure what X means.

If you have read the User Guide/FAQ, then you have probably learned it already -- many KVS Tool users use the Tool without even reading the Guide :).

I started playing with KVS today, and go a good handle on award avail.
I just can't seem to find a good way to find MR's and good fare yet.

Everytime I find a fare and try to send it through the ITA, it shows no result?

Just because a fare is published doesn't mean that it will have inventory available to buy (which is what ITA is checking). That's part of the fun of chasing a MR fare.

In other news, any word on when the ANA/*A search will be working again?

Is ANA/*A search in KVS not working for you? I know that ANA made some changes, but it seems like KVS is robust enough that it was not affected.

I was able to pull up partner results without problem in KVS.

Are you validating the fare (as outlined at http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Using in steps 1-3) before using the ITA option?

That is correct: KVS Tool is not affected by the recent changes to the ANA website, and KVS Tool members can continue to enjoy uninterrupted access to Star Alliance award/upgrade availability.

If a particular cabin is not shown, it means that there is no availability in that cabin on any of the shown flights.

There is a problem with the DL searches.

I search from WAS and I get this datasource error.
"An exact match for WAS was not found or multiple airports are served by this location.
If the reason(s) for the above message was unclear, please visit KVS tool.."

Issues
There should be a way to add BWI, DCA, IAD as one search or to add surrounding airports.
DL website offers this option of surrounding airports and if this is a screen grabber, that should not be an issue.

I upgraded to 5.4.7, due to another error (use miles) earlier, but I get a new error.

Also
Is it possible to have a button that either copies the error or asks to send / sends to you directly the error so you can see what the error is and the frequency with which people are running into it?

As mentioned at http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Methods, the [Awards/SkyTeam] engine does not support the use of City Codes; therefore, you must specify an Airport Code.

Actually, DL.com does not offer the "surrounding airports" option for award searches, nor does it support the use of City Codes.

A brief summary of the error is usually sufficient for troubleshooting purposes. Otherwise, a screenshot can be provided via e-mail.

As of right now, the queries are being accepted, KVS shows data downloading, but no results displayed....maybe they're still working on it...

Edited to Add
: Working on AnaSkyWeb - no problems...flights are showing.

KVS probably has to reformat data presentation in his software.
