(my real problem is that the OneWorld on-line booking tool shows L0, so I guess it uses either Sabre or Gallileo)

In this case, you should probably go with the Sabre/Galileo results, unless you can book your xONE via a TA, who uses a different GDS...

Fare Routing issues

Is anyone else having problems using the Fare Routing Rules option in the Fare Drop Down menu? I've used it fine for months, then all of a sudden last night, and for the 24 hrs since, when I use it the tool returns

Thanks.

We are currently looking into this matter...

cmacdona101 Feb 22, 2010 2:56 pm

Thank you.

I've tried it on a few airlines, and also changed the Fare search from TVN to DotRes (wasn't sure if that would make an impact, it didn't), as well as different routes, and still get the same message. The "search (ITA) using this fare" works fine though.

Please let me know if there's anything additional you need (logs, etc). I find this to be an awesome service!

Yep, seems to be working. thanks!

In an unrelated question, which may have been mentioned elsewhere and I missed it, is there a way to search by Alliance in KVS? For example, with Star Alliance, I notice the members show [*A] in the Airline Field, but when I search using "[*A]" or simply "*A" it doesn't work. Thanks again.

Not directly.

However, you can use the [*A] button in the [Filter] tab, or you can specify up to 3 airline codes in the [Airline(s):] field when searching (assuming that the route in question is not served by more than 3 *A members).

Has the issue with KQ availability not showing up for any date before mid-May been fixed? or is this something to do with what KQ is making available?

As discussed previously, KQ award availability (however non-existent it may be) is set solely by KQ itself:

You have to clear your IE cookies. You've apparently managed to trigger something on the travelocity.ca site so that they won't give you any more free searches until you do so. It happens from time to time.

"[HOST ERROR]"Server I/O - Error, try again later""

I tried deleting cookies, setting the Internet options to accept 1st party cookies, etc, but didn't see anything in the help file for this specific problem. Does the system simply not allow for multiple queries in a short period of time? That'd be a disappointment for segment runners who are constantly looking at different city combinations' routing rules.

Thanks.

The mainframe, which handles that function, can get a bit 'temperamental' at times. No action is necessary on your end -- just try again in a minute or so.

I'm a beta user of the LX award functionality and have not had success getting it to work. I have been getting "Invalid PIN" errors, both with the initial download and the new version I just upgraded to now.

I have a M&M number and PIN that I know work (M&M is my main *A plan and so I am over there logging in quite often). I've tried re-entering numerous times. Any ideas what is wrong?

This is, most likely, a data entry error -- please clear both fields, restart the Tool, and try entering your Card# & PIN again.

Outbound LGW-BGI works fine.

Great news! All origin points (including IAH and BGI) will soon be supported when searching for OneWorld award availability in the KVS Tool.

Please PM if you would like to participate in the Beta release.

I'm a Diamond user. I am having problems searching for IB availability ex-MAD using the tool.

The BA web site (and AA.com reservations) show availability on a leg MAD-TLV in Y. The KVS tool returns the applicable flight, but lists them as CS+ with no entry for Y (not even YS-).

I've found this to be true on a number of other IB and BA flights, where the tool doesn't even indicate Y availability.

Is this a known bug? What can I do to fix it?

Thanks!

Please provide specific date(s) & flight number(s).

Also, were you actually able to complete your award booking(s) or were you just told that there was availability?

Is there any chance to provide wider search options (for married segments) by

a) increasing the connection time which is captured by a search;
b) by increasing the number of transfer points?

This is rarely needed, however, this is a good option for cheap fares which do not allow stopovers to get pseudo stopovers (ie close to 24 hours). LX website is good in such searches by the way.

Connections are built by the respective GDSs, based on the input parameters (which you can specify, such as carrier and time preferences), as well as the internal parameters (which cannot be specified and are, generally, 'biased' toward 'normal' PAX, who prefer shorter connections).

As to the first point, I'll have to go back through and look when I'm at a computer with KVS (not the one I'm at right now). I do remember that it wasn't just one day, or one flight number. It was the same two flights (IB only has two flights daily to TLV), and for a number of dates from late May to early June, BA and KVS only agreed about 80% of the time.

I didn't complete the award booking because I'm still holding out for better dates. However, I was on the phone with BA and they claim they would have been able to book, and online I could go all the way up through the final confirmation screen. They were also showing plenty of availability (more than 4 seats on each flight). Maybe this is a problem with QF more than it is with IB/BA?

If I want to upgrade a 6-month plat membership to diamond, what will happen when I process the diamond contribution?

- Will I get refunded the $35 I paid today and charged $45?
- Will I get billed an extra $10?
- Will I have paid 80$ for 6 months of diamond?

It's unclear to me which scenario seems likely...TIA.

If you decide to upgrade from Platinum to Diamond shortly after becoming a Platinum member for 6M, you can select the 2M Diamond option, in which case both amounts will be combined and pro-rated to 7.3M Diamond.

Alternatively, you can select the 6M Diamond option, in which case you would get 12.8M Diamond (this includes the annual bonus).

Alaska Miles Partner Airlines

Hello,

Any tips on how to find partner airline rewards for miles that I have on Alaska?

I see the help file. It says:
[Sabre: GTC]
[Awards/SkyTeam]

If I go straight into Skyteam rewards (which technically Alaska is not) then I am supposed to assume that anything available for them is available for me via AS MP?

Same thing for BA? Just use Oneworld?

I must be missing something.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

You appear to be looking in the AS section, which is for awards on AS flights.

Instead, you need to refer to sections for the partner airlines you want to redeem on (e.g. BA/DL/AF/etc.): http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Classes

KVS,

Thanks for the post reply and the reg code this evening.

Just to confirm... what you are telling me to do is look in the "Supported Airlines and Award/Other Special Booking Classes" tables and find my partner for AS. Then look for the reward availability there (even though I belong to AS)?

If this is right, and I do it this way then whatever rewards the Airline offers to their own members would be available to me under the AS Mileage Plan? Probably the my mileage cost on AS would vary comparing to what say BA is quoting me in miles.(?).

Again, any help is appreciated. I don't mind combing the results and converting them to apply to AS. I just want a general idea of how to attack.

Thanks,

Charles

In most cases, this is not a significant factor. Furthermore, the majority of award availability, shown in the KVS Tool, is, in fact, "partner" availability.

You would need to refer to the AS award charts; BA quotes are irrelevant.

Good evening and hello
Using the DLM Awards/SkyTeam function I am getting the following error message no matter what city pairs I am requesting:
"Datasource Error - Session expired"
A search did not bring up any other issues with that.
I am using KVS from Germany, registration level is diamond.
Has anybody else ever dealt with that issue ?
Thanks in advance for your help.

You need to click the large purple [Settings] button in the KVS Tool, select [Internet Options], [Privacy], [Advanced] and enable Cookies.
