Hi KVS,
How do we interpret this rule?: "NO HIP OR MILEAGE EXCEPTIONS APPLY"

Can you guide us here, or post some info in your FAQ/user guides? |

The good news is that I am currently working on implementing a OneWorld award checker (see next post), so this should more than 'fill the void' for QF-ers ;). |

A very welcome improvement, thank you. Do you think the same might be possible for OW?

It means exactly what is says -- i.e. all standard HIP and MPM rules must be complied with.
Just added this link to the FAQ: http://www.travelterminal.com/glossary.shtml However, not too much detail there - anyone have any other resource on stopovers/HIP checks?? I almost got nailed before taking a flight to JFK, and 3 out of 4 AA telephone reps said that a "stopover" was allowed! When the check-in agent said she needed to check with the fare desk, I was told "no dice", unless I wanted to pay $2200.00 for a refare, and this was with a practically *unlimited* (full fare) ticket! Luckily I had a backup plan with a mileage ticket to use...but I could have used the sleep I lost when checking in for this flight so early! |

Thanks KVS for the above clarification and for the link.

The *A award checker is great BUT it could be even better. At the moment it only shows connecting flights if there are no direct flights. Could you get the tool to detect and automatically click on the "Connecting Flights" button on the ANA website, and so always automatically show us all the connecting flights?
This will be added to the next version as the [Max] option. |
Can anyone help decipher this for an LH flight? I have looked in the FAQ section and done a couple of searches, but didn't find the key to these codes. I think I can figure 'R' is reserved, 'W' is probably the aisle, but not sure of the other codes.
Just pasted that front economy cabin from the 343. This will be added to the next version as the [Max] option. Any chance you could get LX availability, possibly through LH's M&M database? That's a huge gap in NH's system. |

Just pasted that front economy cabin from the 343. I would guess that W denotes an over-Wing row, and E refers to an Exit row seat (see also http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Luf...bus_A343_2.php). Perhaps, if you re-post the properly-formatted map in the LH forum, someone there may have more info. Alternatively, you can ask a friendly LH agent, as this is the same map that they would be seeing on their terminal screen. How do I access Pacific Blue (Virgin Blue International) timetables and itineraries using the platinum version? Probably just me being useless with my computer as usual, but just wondering. Specifically AKL-WLG 15 Nov 2007
Thanks, Chris |

Anyone else getting Datasource errors when using Wspan and Apollo ITN?
Have tried on both of my pc's, and getting the same thing, but only on those two engines. |

Recently some of my enquires are showing the airline code as YY. Also the fares are not showing properly (just says Y instead of the class breakdown) Have i done something to it?
Carrier From To Fare Cur Expiry Min Max Fare Basis --------- ------ ---- --------- ---- --------- ---- ---- ---------- YY DEL DPS 52583 INR Fri 3M YEE3M YY DEL DPS 75111 INR Y YY DEL DPS 87977 INR C YY DEL DPS 103565 INR F Carrier From To Fare Cur Expiry Min Max Fare Basis --------- ------ ---- --------- ---- --------- ---- ---- ---------- YY DEL HKG 40134 INR Fri 3M YEE3M YY DEL HKG 66312 INR Y YY DEL HKG 80055 INR C YY DEL HKG 95372 INR F |
YY is the full IATA published fare between 2 cities - I was actually quite surprised (and happy) that these are now showing up. You can usually fly an airline on any routing on such fares.

Attempting to use the KVS Availability Tool 2.9.1 to find
available flights for a United / Star Aliance award. Interestingly I *am* seeing availability on the United web site and *not* in the KVS tool. Method: SNT: Awards/StarAlliance Main tab: From: IAD To: GRU Date: 26 Dec 2007 ANA No: xxxxxxxxxxx PIN: xxx Click: Go UA 861 IAD 21:47 GRU 10:25 +1 763 FS- CS- YS- KVS reports no award seats available ... but when I go to the UA web site I find some: http://www.united.com click: Mileage Plus -> Redeem miles Click: Book flights with miles Award type: choose: Saver award From: IAD To: GRU Departing: Dec 2007 26 Any time Returning: Jan 2008 20 Any time Passenger: Adult: 1 Service class: Business Maximum stops: 1-stop Click: Search Flight UA 861 comes up as available on 26 Dec 2007 Flight UA 860 comes up as available on 20 Jan 2008 Is there an issue with the KVS query of the ANA award inventory as compared to what United is displaying? I've been trying to rebook some award travel for late December through early January (yea, I know) and coming up with basically nothing via the KVS tool. I know the KVS tool *IS* displaying award inventory ... because if you fill in the same info as above replacing the 26 Dec 2007 date with 27 Mar 2008 ... KVS shows UA 861 IAD 21:47 GRU 8:25 +1 763 FS- CS- YS+ Thanks! |
SkyTeam awards dead?
Look back a couple weeks and don't see any issues while KVS is out....
Looking up SkyTeam awards is the only thing I that doesn't work in my 2.9.1 version. Both, behind and without proxy. Everything else works including *A look ups. |
KVS Star Aliance availability issues
After spending hours poring over lots of different routing for a United Mileage Plus saver award that would include travel on Star Alliance partners I've decided to give up.
The KVS tool indicated numerous flights on Lufthansa, Singapore and Thai with CS+ and YS+ availability but when speaking with UA 1P international reservations agents they were unable to see similar inventory in their system - and I spoke with multiple agents as well (all US based and not the off shore team). I spent nearly an hour on the phone with one agent who was very kind and patient trying to help me build a successful saver award itinerary but we couldn't come up with anything that matched what I could find with the KVS tool. She indicated that maybe the system I was looking at (KVS is querying ANA?) had inventory from carriers for award travel that was not similarly shared with United / in the United system. I'm not sure if this post really belongs here or may be better cross posted or moved to the UA MP forum. |

When i try and open up my saved PNR's i get a error -
Unable to start [C:\Program files\KVS availability tool\openurl.htm] [Shell Execut] Error 5 This has got to do with me installing Mozilla Firefox on my computer and then uninstalling it. I know its my fault by I can't figure out how to get KVS tool to make IE as its default Internet explorer. Have tried to update with the latest version and still facing the same problem. Can you help? |
