When I used KVS tool to determine Sky Team award availability (especially when I clicked on Delta airlines), for any route (eg YOW-ATL, or YOW-MCO), the message said that the routing was too complex for award availability to be displayed. That does not make sense, as there are 2 Delta nonstop flights a day between Ottawa and Atlanta.

Thanks, just pulled up etickets on AS and US stock using the LA/OW feature, I hadn't realized this was possible ^

Thought I'd share the report since I didn't see US in your list yet.

Keep getting a error when pulling Sabre:fares/ZUJ. Both the HK and SG option give me a yahoo error and the AU gives me a "unable to retrieve fares"

AU POS is no longer valid; you need to use SG or HK POS. Otherwise, all systems continue to function normally.

What is the "Yahoo error"?

CPT - LHR OneWorld Awards

CPT - LHR is no longer working using the OneWorld Awards access method.

Even with Extended Mode ticked - it continues to give the Data Source Error Message.

I've also tried combinations of CPT - LON - but no luck.

This is a new problem - as it was previously working last week withou issue.

The QF is restricting award availability checking for that city pair -- I will see if I can find a work-around ...

Is US J Inventory Now Hidden?

The last time I booked a flight to Europe (in early May) I was able to use KVS to check on the availability of J (upgrade to business class) inventory on US. Today I was checking availability for an upcoming trip and now none of Apollo, Sabre, WSpan or Galileo provided information on J availability. Has US hidden this? And if so, is there some other way to access this information?

Thanks.

Regards,

David

Hi,

What I have bookmarked is the following:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...are+classes%27

According to message #2, J is the business class upgrade bucket. Of course, this dates from December 2006, but so far as I know, J is still the correct class. And, while your wonderful tool was showing the J inventory earlier this month, I was not able to see it today.

I appreciate any help you can offer.

Regards,

David

I was able to confirm that J class still exists, but if US had decided to hide it, then unfortunately, there is not much I can do ...

davidl May 27, 2008 3:55 pm

It looks like I should pose a question over on the US Airways forum and see if anyone over there knows what is going on with US and J.

Thanks for your fast replies,

David

KVS,

I just noticed that LH has pulled I-class and O-class availability this morning from Sabre/ITN, and all other methods - can you confirm?

Thanks!

Edited to Add: *Of course* this has to happen on the day I ticket!

Expert Flyer also showing same results....

Just tried it, and it seems to work fine... If it happens again, pls e-mail me a screenshot.

When FOREX rates cannot be obtained, the Tool will automatically revert to showing ZUJ fares in SGD/HKD.

LH's O/I/X availability is episodically shown in Sabre (this has been the case for ~2 years now).

However, it is always accessible via the [SNT: Awards/StarAlliance] Method in the KVS Tool (O=FS, I=CS, X=YS).

I had the same experience yesterday but it only lasted for a short time. It was giving prices in SGD. Looks like a temporary problem that was quickly resolved.

Is there someway I can access flight durations in KVS - SNT: Awards/StarAlliance or even under Sabre: Fares/DotRes?

This information is available via [Apollo: ITN] and [Amadeus: Timetable].

PNR -- what is it? Passenger Name Record?

Where do you get the PNR Locator from?

The screenshot doesn't tell a lot.

Search for availability on the route that you want. Once this is displayed click on 'info" which you will find on the right of POS. This will now show you the flight time and distance for that particular flight.

Thanks! Once I entered the info using SNT: Awards/StarAlliance, I highlighted the specific flight and then clicked on "info". It asked me to enter the date, airline code and flight # which I did. The "function" scroll down menu showed flight status. Once I click GO, it actually takes me to a different website www.flightstats.com that's asking me for a username and password..........hmmmmmm......

All I like to see is the miles/distance when I select a segement using *A award option......help!

Cheers.

I don't know of any way to do it under the *A search option. A simple way to do it would be to do a search under Apollo and then follow my instructions above. Why complicate things? ;)

Yes, via [Apollo: ITN] (as described by lallyr above).

Hmm. Put in my confirmation number, and other information, for a DL flight, but doesn't seem to work. It launches the DL itinerary page, but then does nothing.

GivenRandy Jun 2, 2008 6:32 pm

Then, again, maybe that IS what it is supposed to do. I was expecting the lower pane to be filled in with something, but I was probably mistaken. Still, having the flight information right there is a benefit.

Sorry, false alarm.

The redesign of the AU Zuji site is a right pain!

Oh well.

Any chance that the KVS Tool might be modified to display limited routing rules, like ExpertFlyer currently does? ExpertFlyer shows single-connect city options (though not full routing rules). It's better than nothing. Knowledge of valid cities, how many transfers are possible, and an educated guess as to legal routings is still better than guessing in the dark.

Unfortunately, that is not currently possible.

In the meantime, I would suggest plugging-in the fare basis (shown by the KVS Tool) into the ITA engine using the following special syntax to see [at least some of] the possible routings:

Code:

From: ::/ F YY..FBASIS
To:  ::/ F YY..FBASIS

For best results, click on [More Options] and UnCheck the [Check seat availability] option.

AA Upgrade for Miles?

I used this tool a while back but haven't use it since I changed computers. Before I download it again - is it possible to view AA Upgrade to next class (non fullfare Coach to Business) for miles? On recent bookings, AA books these as Class C.

Thanks.
