Yes I am indeed... across the top it indicates "KvS Availability Tool 1.3.2"

The SABRE: ITN/UA is just fine.

The SABRE: AuA/*A goes off into lala land after pressing GO and it can sit there for over 1 hou using 100% CPU and not doing anything ... I can click STOP at any time and it terminates the search ...

The interesting thing is with the ITN/UA I see under the STOP button the text "Stop [2K]" ... while with the AUA/*A I see simply "Stop [.]"

Thank-you

If there's only 1 dot after [Stop] it means that it cannot connect to the AUA website for some reason.

Try opening http://book5.aua.com/ in Internet Explorer:

If it doesn't bring you to AUA's website, then something in your system/network is blocking your access to that website.
If it does, try re-installing the tool using the SETUP (not manually).

Thanks - I will pursue your suggestions ... appreciate your time :)

Added: Going to the url directly seems to have cleared whatever log jam there was ... I can now use KVS AUA/*A successfully ... thanks.

The only problem is that a direct AC Jazz flight from YYZ-> MSY never shows up -- it is there at the AC website - but not via KVS ... I know that is not an prob with KVS - but the backends it accesses -- oh well.

Thanks again!

Are you referring to this one?:

I found out my error (DUH!) it seems that the time of flight is extremely impt here ... if I change the time then it tells me the AC flights ... I guess I was looking for more of an ALL DAY type of search ... well live and learn!

Thanks for your time!

Just leave the Time: field blank for an all-day search...

KVS,

Super tool, thanks so much for it ^

One question: is there any way to select, say, two airlines to display:

i.e.,

not AC, not *, but AC;DL

Not at the moment. Current options are: All (ITN & AUA), 1 specific airline (ITN), or *A (AUA).

Maybe you could replace the lost amex itn connection with the wagon lits itn platform?! As far as I can see this still works fine and gives just about the same information as the amex itn.

Would be great to have three provider options again :) :)

Thanks for the tool anyhow ^ ^ ^

Looks like it will be a "wish coming true" this christmas -- see my next post. Actually, I was already working on that option since last Monday :)

New Version 1.3.3 Released / Replacement for ITN-AMEX / Tool Development Fund

Just in time for the holidays, Version 1.3.3 of the KVS Availability Tool, holiday edition, is now available for download.

Major Changes:
  • Sabre: ITN/CWT method has now been added!
    • It is, effectively, a replacement for the ITN-AX method
  • Seat Map option has been restored;
    • To access the seat map for a flight, simply select a segment, then right-click and select [Seat Map/Book Segment Using ITN/CWT]

Download Link:

1.3.3 works great. Thank you!

How realtime is the information?

I had checked the availability for a RG flight 5 hours ago and it was wide open as per the availability tool- F7 A6 C7 D7 Z7 Y7 B7 M7 H7 Q7 V7 L7.... However when I checked in I was told that the flight is oversold in all classes and that they will have to offload people. It is probably because the airline assumes that people don't turn up and keep the flight oversold, because it is very unlikely that too many people in all classes would suddenly decide to fly on the spur on X-mas eve.
Any thoughts?
Merry X-mas

shuuy Dec 24, 2004 2:12 pm

This says to me that they were still willing to sell 7 tickets, due to (as you guessed) no-shows.

I've read through the PayPal website to see how it works. Is it really as simple as sending the amount to the e-mail address in your profile? Anything I should be concerned about with the website?

Paypal is the payment system created for/by Ebay. I use it all the time to transfer money, make purchases and receive money for auction items I've sold on Ebay. I've even used it to make charitiable donations.

I don't think you need to worry

Have started to poke about with KVS and I have a question ... the seat map for economy seats only seems to ever bring up rows 12-19 on the AC flights? Why would that be? If I go through an old ITN interface directly it brings up the full economy seating map -- not with KVS? Am I doing something incorrectly?

PS: A great tool so far! ^

Same thing with the Carlson Wagonlit interface. I had been wondering why. 12-19 at least for economy on the 333.

ITN-CWT Seat Map for AC

The seat map function in the KVS Availability Tool uses ITN-CWT and this seems to be a [rather strange] problem with that engine...

BTW, I am not sure what exactly do you mean by the "old ITN interface"?

Presumably www.itn.net, and then its continuation as an Amex operation, still using the itn engine. Until a couple weeks ago when they moved to a Sabre thing, which no longer provides availability by booking code.

Well, www.itn.net/ does not really exist (nor did it exist before the recent changeover took place): Before the recent changes, www.itn.net/ was redirecting to Amex Travel, which at that time was using the ITN engine. As of a few weeks ago, www.itn.net/ redirects to Amex Travel, which is now using the Travelocity engine...

Sorry for not being clearer ... what I meant was if I use this url directly (I know ... blasphemy :D):

New Version 1.3.4 Released / New Tool Setup

First of all, just wanted to say thanks to all those FT'er who have sent their contributions over the past 2 weeks. Also, thanks to certain Australian FT'er who had donated webhosting services for the tool download page, most of the download issues discussed in this thread earlier are now a thing of the past!

Version 1.3.4 of the KVS Availability Tool is now available for download.

Major Changes:
  • New Setup:
    • Tool setup download is now a single .EXE file
    • Additional installation options added, including an option to create a desktop shortcut for the tool (requested by a number of users)

Minor Changes:
  • New Seatmap Options:
    • Seatmap using ITN/CWT
    • Seatmap using ITN/UA (use this option when ITN/CWT does not show complete map for AC flights)

Just a comment for those using this tool ... aside from the fact it is great!

If you are using the ITN/UA interface to see fare classes it will show all the TANGO RINGPET classes ... the ITN/CWT interface does not show "R" or "T" classes ... something to keep in mind I guess...

This I suspect is the CWT back-end issue similar to it showing only a subset of Econony seating ...

You can also use the AUA/*A access method to display those classes...

Indeed - but if I am just looking or AC flights and trying to minimize the output I find the ITN/UA interface better for that ... but you are of course 100% correct...

Just started using the latest version with Virtual PC on a Mac. Works quite well. A tad bit slower than with a PC, but having ditched my dell laptop for a PowerBook G4 it was the only option for running this. Great program and nice that there is way to run it on the Mac.

ac777 Jan 31, 2005 10:46 pm

Thanks KVS. This time it worked like a charm. No more error messages.

Sabre AUA does not work - error message is: "Error requesting data"

POH Feb 15, 2005 11:54 am

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but I just downloaded KVS' tool and am trying it out. If I want to determine which airlines/flights have seats available for reward tickets, is it safe to say that if the class starts with an 'X' that means I could get a reward ticket in coach class?

Is there a good listing of various airlines reward class codes?

Also, I saw one airline which listed a class 'X2'. What does the number following the class mean?

Thanks for bearing with a newbie!
