Hi, new to KVS here -- I try to run a *A search and it return an error message "Data Source Error ANA". Anyone knows how to fix this?
FYI - if you want to use the "Amadeus: Award/OneWorld search" then you have to join Qantas frequent flyer and again enter your membership details into KVS ps: welcome to flyer talk |
Thanks ..... looking forward to giving it a go!

KVS,
Thanks VERY much for taking this on and adding this value add to the tool. I have a couple of comments initially: -It would be a tremendous value add if users could use psuedo city codes like NYC and enable the tool to poll the potential combinations back to aeroplan (i.e. JFK, LGA, EWR) -(so the user wouldn't need to run multiple queries) and have the kvs tool concatenate the results. Second -the message Route too complex - perhaps should capture the lack of availability and say something else like "No Availability." Lastly - when there is no availability - it would be a huge help if the tool could capture the alternative dates in the displayed aeroplan calender and make them a right click option in the KVS tool so those available dates could be viewed. This is great work. Thanks for all your efforts!^^ |

Tested it and it works well in some cases but have issues with others.
A routing like DFW-SYD for example gives nice connections and works well. However a routing like HAM-KRT gives me Datasource Error [RD]: "(Engine Error)"

CAI-KRT a "route to complex" even so there are direct flights.
The ANA tool shows flights and availability for both HAM-KRT and CAI-KRT. [KVS Availability Tool 6.2.9921/Diamond - ITA: Awards/AC-StarAlliance] Code:

I thought I understood the Awards/Upgrades display correctly. If the Availability shows a + in the class of service I want, then there is availability for at least the number of seats I selected. I called AA today and they were not seeing the same. The agent said she saw the first class, but did not see business class availability.
I was hoping to paste the screen shot, but seem to be having issue with that. The specifics are: DFW-GVA on March 16, 2012 Airline is prefilled to *O Oneworld Seats = 2 First flight pair: BA 192 DFW 17:50 LHR 07:30+1 744 FS+ CS+ YS+ -> BA 726 LHR 09:40 +1 GVA 12:20 + 1 319 Why couldn't the AA agent see the business availability? Also, why doesn't the tool return the MAD routing? Every record that was returned was via LHR. Even though there wasn't availability on the DFW-MAD leg, I would have expected to see that set of flights. thanks |

Therefore, for premium cabins, you either need to check each segment separately or use the new [Awards/BA-OneWorld] Method, which shows Award Availability per flight: [KVS Availability Tool 6.1.6/Diamond - Amadeus: Awards/BA-OneWorld] Code:
DFW Dallas Metro / Dallas/Fort Worth TX US = DFW DAL [KDFW]

OK - thanks
I would need to upgrade to Diamond. The website says "You can upgrade to a higher level (e.g. Diamond) at any time. Simply proceed using one of the contribution options, corresponding to the new level (e.g. Diamond). Your remaining time at the current level (e.g. Platinum) will then be converted and added toward your new membership at the higher tier." Does that mean, I'm charged just $10 (the difference between Diamond and Platinum) and my expiration date is the same or will I get $45 charge and my expiration gets extended for another six months? |

The issue is that the ANA tool shows availability on more dates than AC. Not sure why this is.

Please download an updated Beta (V6.2.9921.B2) and give it a try: [KVS Availability Tool 6.2.9921.B2/Diamond - ITA: Awards/AC-StarAlliance] Code:

KVS,
Thanks for continued efforts. Thanks for the alternative dates option! It appears the beta I downloaded is not throwing ANY messages now when there is no availability. Search the following as an example: LGA-XMN Jun 29 or July 2 one way all classes 1 pax Regards |

Help with upgrade on AC using MP miles
So glad to see AC added to Star Alliance upgrade list. I just booked a one-way B class ticket on AC. Called UA to upgrade to business using 20,000 miles (goes up to 25,000 miles after June 15). UA pings AC to request this using AC ticket number to locate record. AC comes back no availability. KVS shows:
[KVS Availability Tool 6.1.6.R1/Diamond - Galileo: Availability/ETR/JP] LHR London Heathrow UK [EGLL] YOW Ottawa Intl ON CA [CYOW] THU 22 Sep 2011 Carrier Flight From Depart To Arrive A/C St Availability --------- ------ ---- -------- ---- -------- --- -- ------------ AC 889 LHR 15:15 YOW 17:50 763 0 R9 This can't be human error on AC side. Does AC use a different fare class for upgrades using MP miles? |

Thanks jarusoba. Flight showing CS- at the moment. :( Does this mean my upgrade request is competing with AC FFs who are trying to book a business class award ticket?

I have version B4 of the Beta and whilst the other sections still work, since upgrading, every time I search using the KrisCom: Awards/SQ method, it freezes the program always about 5secs after clicking the search button. Standard Availability, Fares, etc still work.

under "KVS Tool hangs (freezes) intermittently when transferring data, particularly when using the [Amadeus: Awards/CX] Method". |
As a longtime user I can't say enough how much I love KVS on a near daily basis.
Any thoughts on adding award availability from Continental's standpoint? Reason being it also shows Virgin Atlantic award availability, as well as some Star Alliance carriers. |
What about adding functionality so that you can change dates in the Fares tab? In order to change dates while searching fares you have to change tabs to either Availability or Timetable tabs; this seems an unnecessary extra step.

When I use the Mobile Companion tool, I got more results than the KVS application on my desktop? I set the same searching criteria for both. Am I doing something wrong? Are all the flights shown in my Mobile Companion page valid?
For example, I got the following flights. Are they really available for OneWorld awards for SAN-PEK? [Sabre/TVN] shows all published Fares for the next 12 months, so the Date fields are not applicable. If you would like to restrict your Fares search to specific dates, please use [Sabre/DotRes]. Can't price RTW fares?
I've been loading RTW fares these past few days but this morning I'm trying to load it up and I get the following error:
Datasource Error: "Departure and arrival cities are the same" I'm using Fares/DotRes and RTW and Location is US. |

Well, that fixed it. All this time I was using Feb 2012 to Dec 2012 .. I switched it to Feb 2012 to Apr 2012 and it seems to work. I guess the input has to be stricter now?
Either way, thanks! :D |

Great Work
Just to let you know that I used the AC/StarAlliance award feature on 6.2.9921.B4 and it worked great. I was able to locate seats for upcoming trip and booked them already.

* Alliance Error Message
Hi, I'm very very new to the KVS tool (for Mac) and I generally use it without any problems for OW. However, when trying to search for *A award availability (using all 27 Airlines) I get the following error:
Data Source Error [I] "ANA" I'm probably doing something wrong but I can't figure out what it is...any help would be great. Thanks. |
*A Error message
try it again now
I was getting the same error a few hours ago - when searching for OW award availability but all seems OK now looks like it was some sort of transient error |
