Hi KVS,
Been a while since I posted here, still loving the tool after all these years. Maybe it's because it's Sunday morning in Sydney and I had a few too many last night, but in searching flights I came up with the following: [KVS Availability Tool 6.2.0/Diamond - Amadeus Operational Info: US 662/18 Sep 2011] Code:
US AIRWAYS - US 662I did a google search, searched this thread, and searched the KVS website and came up with donuts. |
More and more I am traveling with just my ipad2 and sometimes it is useful to be able to check award availability but the mobile app does not seem to support that. Any thoughts on when it might be available or if there's another way of checking awards when traveling and not using a PC?
Thanks! |
Looks like there is a parsing error shown in this query
[KVS Availability Tool 6.2.0.R2/Diamond - Sabre: Availability/GTC/US-LTR] Code:
HKG Hong Kong Intl HK [VHHH] |
As per my thread:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/air-c...l#post16743696 does the KVS tool display allowable routings for Aeroplan award bookings, similar to what it does for AC or other airline revenue bookings? |

CO award in EVA?
Can I see CO award availability in Eva Air using KVS Tool?
I saw BR is supported by KVS, but I don't know how to do it. I have a diamond membership. thanks |

Have you considered installing the KVS Tool on a MacBook Air?

Different availability for same flights depending on query
When I query KVS for two, one way segments - ATH FRA, then FRA YVR, it shows seats available. But when I query ATH YVR, there is no availability for the same flights.
Why is that? [KVS Availability Tool 6.3.0/Diamond - SNT: Awards/StarAlliance/JP-ANA-SP1] Code:
ATH Athens Eleftherios Venizelos GR [LGAV][KVS Availability Tool 6.3.0/Diamond - SNT: Awards/StarAlliance/JP-ANA-SP1] Code:

Any way you can VPN and/or Remote Desktop into a PC somewhere else that is running KVS from your iPad (not sure if that is possible since I don't have an iPad)? You'd need to leave that PC running and connected somewhere, but it seems like it would work.

I'm trying to book 4 seats to Europe using oneworld awards. According to KVS there are Z9 seats for ORD-LHR on June 3rd. When I call American to try to book the award, they tell me there is no availablity. KVS shows two flights 4674 & 4676, both having Z9. AA tells me neither flight is available.
Why the disparity? At the same time AA tells me that flights 296 & 294 have first class award seats available, but I can't use them because they are code share. I understand that, but when I look up those flights, Z fare class doesn't even show up. I'm so confused. |

OK When I use the Availability tool I see IB4676 Z9
Plus How do I see if it is a codeshare flight. When I try to check the exclude codeshare box on filters it doesn't work. Please excuse my ignorance since this is the first time I'm using KVS and I am still in the process of learning. [KVS Availability Tool 6.2.0/Diamond - Sabre: Availability/GTC/US-LTR] Code:

Does the KVS Tracking have a time delay? Or is some information restricted from publication?
I was looking at BA875 21 July. Flight was due to depart DME, was moved to SVO KVS shows [KVS Availability Tool 6.3.0/Diamond - Amadeus Operational Info: BA 875/21 Jul 2011] Code:
BRITISH AIRWAYS - BA 875http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/...ker/Moscow.jpg I'm new to KVS, so not sure if there is something I need to do in settings (I have Diamond subscription) |

KVS Now Showing DL X/Z & V/G classes ???
[KVS Availability Tool 6.3.0.R1/Diamond - Sabre: Availability/FS/US]
Code:
LGA New York La Guardia NY US [KLGA] |
Can this be added?
I am DL DM and my wife is GM. When traveling on points sometimes we have to split the reservations as only 1 seat is available in low. I have about 8 reservations that I check regularly but about 3 I need to check GM availability rather than DM even though they are all booked on my points. Can you put in an option for each reservation to log in with different FF#/Name and pin rather than a global login.
Thanks Henry |

It is likely that DL only has one 'set' of Elite Award Availability that applies across all Elite tiers, so there should be no difference regardless of which account you use.

Sorry not true given what DL told me. I used the KVS and found a single low award and tried to give it to here. They told me that the availability was available for DM only not PM or GM.

In that case, one solution would be to use different DL SM credentials on each of your 2 machines, where you have the KVS Tool installed.

How do you get login details for the mobile KVS tool, having registered and paid? There's a checkbox for "I only want access to the mobile tool" but not for "I want mobile access and PC access".

At least that is how it was for me |

No, unfortunately. You can't even compete with them. Even if there was a seat in business class available after all of them were cleared, if I class doesn't open up, you still can't use your points to upgrade.

Does I class ever open up in AC? I have been looking for weeks for CS+ on KVS for AC flights to and from Europe. Nada. Even AC flights that depart two days from now and that have 50% of the J class seats unoccupied still show no I class availability. Is the "Buy a Latitude fare and upgrade using Star Alliance" just blowing smoke as far as AC is concerned? Has anyone had success with this?
They don't even open up R class for god's sake! Yes, you are right. The is no reason of buying Latitude fare with the hope of upgrading with points. |
This is an interesting "bias" against non-Aeroplan members. If I were an Aeroplan member with 6 AC eupgrades I could upgrade my whole September itinerary LHR-YOW-YYZ-DEN right now, as I have a Latitude fare and KVS is showing that R space is available on each leg. I wouldn't even need to be an elite member at the moment with AC; I would only need to have 6 eupgrades in the bank. But as a *A member, I am not allowed to upgrade using the stated 25,000 miles. Heck, I could be a UA GS or 1K, and it wouldn't help to make the award available. So the bottom line is that while Air Canada has joined into the *A upgrade network, it is still heavily protecting upgrades for its Aeroplan members against invaders from other programs.

Mobile login info should be in the email you received with your Diamond registration details (mobile companion is only with Diamond). It is under the heading [KVS Tool Mobile Companion Access]

KVS, thanks for pointing me to the MPM feature. I'm still not sure I'm reading the output quite right.
Example routing: CCU-BOM-LHR-MAD-DUB-ORD-AUS Result: [KVS Availability Tool 6.3.0.R2/Diamond - Reference: Maximum Permitted Mileage [MPM]: CCU-BOM-LHR-MAD-DUB-ORD-AUS/AA] Code:
Question: I am concluding that the MPM from CCU to AUS is 12319 miles, and since my CUM miles are 11830, no surcharge is due. Is that correct? Should I worry about the DUB line that shows CUM exceeding MPM by 5%. For the routing to be valid without surcharge, do only the origin and destination matter, or are the intermediate CUM and MPM important too? Thanks! |
Can't See Award Routing
Hi. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong. I'm searching for award availability from YYZ to SCL using the SNT method, and I'm getting a "No Results/Route too Complex" message. I can search routes to other cities and get results, even if there is no availability, and I can find this route on the general availability tab.
