Hi -

I use the FULL version of the KVS tool, and I had a question. Today I tried to buy an itinerary in France that showed available seats on KVS, but which my travel agent said was sold out (she was using Amadeus). So I checked again when I came home, and KVS shows availability (on Amadeus). Now in the KVS tool I don't need to choose a Sale City for Amadeus, so I don't think it is that.

Has anyone experienced this? Is there something I am doing wrong in my search? Or are there just fewer seats available for France? :)

The search is on Amadeus, "All Airlines":
FDF --> POS outbound 25 Nov 2005 (the sold-out flight is LI 1807/TX 807, FDF --> SLU), inbound POS --> FDF 5 Dec 2005 (there is availability).

Any help is appreciated!

I somewhat doubt that an airline like LI/TX would play with availability based on the POS. Also, I just checked, and there does not seem to be any availability for your return flight:

#1 i had the same problem-----amazon system not working for kvs right now, try one of the other methods. i just did moneybookers over the weekend and im now enjoying full access!

#2 ? for kvs.....i scanned the posts; am i able to pull CO pnr's via the tool? so far no luck!

If you can't access CO PNRs via Amadeus, it means that CO is blocking them from being viewed... However, if you make a booking through a TA (that uses any of the 4/5 major GDSs), you would then be able to see it.

Is there maybe an overview of booking classes for AWARDS used by the most airlines (i.e. AA, LX, LH, LO etc)? Sorry, I didn't find it :(

There are listings of booking classes that the Tool can display for a number of carriers and it is located in KVS Tool FAQ Part 2 under "Classes Displayed By Airline": http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showp...74&postcount=2

If you click on the [AA] link within that post, it will take you to a chart of booking classes displayed for AA. Within that chart, there will also be a link that says [AA award/upgrade classes].

For all *A member airlines, there is a 'sticky' in the *A Forum that lists award/upgrade classes for each *A airline. For other airlines, you would need to check the corresponding forum.

How come results from KVS tool and expertflyer are different regarding availability?
 

I just noticed that the figures for availablity are different between KVS tool and expertflyer. eg, I was searching HKG-SYD for Nov 2nd on Cathay Pacific and the results for both business and first class are different. How is that?

The two tools access different GDS systems and through different means. ExpertFlyer access it's GDS's directly under contract. Also, different GDS's will load the same inventories with different maximums indicated. Sometimes it is 9, sometimes 7, sometimes 4. Another variable is how often the airline updates the data it loads into a GDS. Some airlines, like AA, are realtime in Sabre and any changes are reflected virtually instantly.

First of all, see the FAQ at the top of the thread for some possible explanations. Also, as can be seen from the results below, Apollo, Amadeus & Sabre results match. ITN/WorldSpan results should be ignored when they are inconsistent with the data from other methods. Lastly, ITN/Sabre results should match what you are getting in ExpertFlyer. Is that not the case?
