BA award availability

BA is no longer listed under Award and Upgrades.
Can we expect it to return? If so, when?

Unfortunately it looks like BA has once again hidden their award inventory from the reservation systems. We have been hearing from customers about the benefit they have derived from the information during the brief time it was available, so we would suggest that you contact BA and express your interest in the information again being made public.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I found it very useful and was the main reason for me joining ExpertFlyer.
Hope it comes back.

I'd like to set a seat alert but would only like to be alerted if two seats next to each other are both open. Does this require a paid membership?

Seat Alerts are part of our Free service, however certain alert options, such as Any Two Seats Together, require the alert to be purchased for $.99 each.

EF seemingly won't allow me to select the two seats together option because there are two seats together available? I am trying to make an alert for two specific seat pairs but it doesn't seem possible.

That is correct, you won't be able to create an alert for "Any Two Seats Together" if two seats next to each other already are free. Instead you should use the Select Specific Seat option and select the seats you are looking for, wait for one to become available, get it, then create the alert again for the other seat.

Sorry if I missed an announcement - are LH Awards no longer searchable?

LH (nor ANA) are on the list of airlines when in the award search.

Thank you,

Will these be returning?

Any progress to report? I'm already using another resource for Star awards and I am wondering whether to just plan on that for the future.

I'm sorry but we have no ETA at this time as to when the information will be restored, however if there is a change we will be sure to inform you.

Can you please give us a full report as to the situation as it stands now?
- What was the reason they were available before and not now?
- What is currently being done to restore *A information?
- If it looks unlikely that *A will be restored, give us a definitive announcement.

Transparency is very much appreciated.

QF8 search

Hello, I've got two questions related to an alert I'd like to generate for DFW/BNE flying QF8 on 10/8/2014 using AA miles.

1) If I do an Award/Upgrade search using:
DFW - BNE on 10/8/2014 for AA in Z/U class
I don't see QF8 (or AA7375) listed. Should it appear, or does it not even get listed if it's not available? Other QF flights are listed, just not this one.

2) If I instead use Flight Availability and do the same search I can find AA 7375 which is what I want. It even lists availability:
J7 D7 I7 Y7 W0 B7 H7 K7 L7 M7 V7 S7 N7 Q7 O0
However when I look on AA.com there is no availability at all. Why would that be?

I'm still a little new to using EF so apologies if this is a basic misunderstanding on my part.

In that case, you should be only looking at the QF flight numbers as award searching isn't valid for codeshares. It doesn't matter that you want to use AA miles, it matters which airline operates the flight.

Many times airlines won't even list 0 for award inventory for flights they don't want to give away a lot of award inventory on, especially very far in advance. You can however create a Flight Alert for the QF flight from either the Flight Availability results or the Create New Flight Alert page. Be sure to use the proper QF award class codes.

AA.com does show that flight for sale. Flight Availability results are for paid tickets, not award tickets.

If you need more help please email us at [email protected] thanks.
