Yes, me neither. Setup seat alerts for an AA flight for 4 possible seats that I wanted to switch to. Never got an alert. Just so happened to check AA's app a few days ago and surprise, 2 of the 4 were available, so I switched. Lucked out.

Can anybody explain why EF does not show any American Airlines (AA) fares ex-Cairo? Fares are present and ITA Matrix or even the AA website show fare codes, but I cannot display on EF to examine the exact rules.

EF for Delta

Two questions that I have not seen answered here for EF a searches on delta. 1) the most J seats I’ve seen has been 9 even if cabin has more seats in it and more show open on delta.com - anyone know why? 2) EF often does not present all the flights that are available, especially connections that show on delta.com. Would appreciate the group’s insights as I am relatively new to EF.

Thanks

9 is the maximum that any GDS will ever display irrespective of the actual number available. In other words it means "9 or more" seats are available for sale in that fare bucket. Probably for historical reasons when these systems were first designed and results had to fit into fixed number of characters... as was all text based.

Please alert to them via email. I did that several times but I guess they didn't get enough complaints to action.
The likely reason is that their default GDS for fares listing does not show fares specific to Egypt market. So they need to switch to alternatives and this is extra settings or even development. Same is true for LH Group fares (also not showing on EF anymore).

I did indeed alert EF by email but had no response.

Thanks, that makes sense. Any idea on why EF doesn;t show all the flights/combinations that are shown on Delta.com?

EF is showing GDS inventory.

Delta.com has extra inventory that is only available via NDC or not available via other channels at all.

Is anyone else encountering numerous inaccurate flight schedule notifications today?

I've been inundated with 8 notifications this morning. With the exception of one, all of them have been erroneous. These notifications claim that the flight times are being changed from unfamiliar old times to what has always been the correct time.

This issue seems to be affecting multiple airlines (BA, Singapore, United) and flights scheduled from this month to next January.

Yes, just got 7 of them. The original flights have NOT changed. I logged in and double-checked my AA, and DL flights, and compared what the original booked email said vs. what Expert Flyer said. They don't match (Expert Flyer says originally booked at like 3:19 pm departure, when in fact, it was a 10:19 a.m. departure, and that's what Expert Flyer is reporting as the "new time").

Between this and the numerous flight changes (that DO happen) that don't generate a notification, Expert Flyer is going downhill.

I guess I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one.

Since my original post, I have now received a notification for every one of my scheduled alerts.

It's annoying because I now have to recreate them all...

Expert Flyer Wackiness

I just received 19 emails from EF noting schedule changes for all of my alerts. Each alert was for a change of exactly 5 or 6 hours. Obviously, a screw up related to time zone changes or something. Please tell me that someone else has received similar emails!

TheDudeAbides Feb 8, 2024 11:56 am

Yes - 26 schedule change alerts bombed my inbox over the course of an hour or so. BA, UA, AS, AA. All seem to be off by exactly 5 or 6 hours. I suspect that EF's "clock" is wrong somehow.

My go to travel tool for the last ~20 years seems to be declining steadily under the new ownership.

JFK2World Feb 8, 2024 12:07 pm

I just got a bunch as well and none of my actual flight times changed. Must be some system glitch.
