important changes as per 1.July 2012:
as per TG office no more S/B-Upgrade sales for passengers booked in V- and W-classes. And from Thailand new amounts shall be applied:
BKK-LHR 2THB 29970
BKK-PAR/FRA: THB 25670
Scandinavia THB 25255.
(indeed this is 10%less than till 30June!)
No new USD/EUR-amounts made public yet for travel from Europe to BKK.....

$80us
Just be careful if buying economy tickets off the specials on the TG website. At the bottom of the conditions it states "NO UPGRADES" which traps the unwary because some they are mileage earning

Has anyone updated info if an SB-cash upgrade from I-class (BD reward) to F is still possible?

Thanks

that is incorrect BKKROP. You are able to do paid on departure upgrades from redemption tickets.

However, as part of these new rules starting July 1, you will NOT be able to.

depending on the date! Only by 30.June 2012.
But note: not all stations accept CASH, but many stations abroad only accept CC or debit-card.

Thanks, credit card will work fine with me and I'm planning to travel in Jun '12. So I guess it should work.

Any chance to update the OP with the new rules?

as per Thai Airways office at this moment stand-by upgrades available only for flights from BKK to the rest of the world, and no longer for passengers who originally have booked in V/W/N/X-classes, but only Q/H/M/B and Y.

Learn something new every day, I have always been told by my agent that I cannot upgrade awards, thanks for your expertise, could you please tell me where these new rules are starting July 1st. However the first thing I have to do is tear strips off someone.

I-class is considered as use of an award-flight, same as X-class, from where its no longer permitted any more.

Just a quick update:

When I checked-in for my BD reward I-class, I inquired about a paid upg to F. It was processed without any question and I even got F miles for it.

But note: this just happened a day ago and I have no idea what will happen after the 1-Jul changes.

Cheers
