Has been replaced with a 77W (at least for my flight - TG466 22 Sept).

Typical of TG - they have even loaded the second A350 for 8 October... Dummy booking on 1 October shows A350 on both flights - so they are again playing usual game with us. They have one only plane at the moment and they do not have Australian approval, but offer flights on it...

BTW, HS-THC had its first flight on 15 September and is still scheduled for delivery on 28 September.

I think they are playing it by ear. Currently flights until 16-23 September reflect the change, so it looks like week-by-week.

I have a mini-mileage run this week BKK-CNX-BKK (twice) and all four sectors are on the 359. Presently in Y, but mulling upgrading one sector to C for a look around.

Couldn't make the J class BKK-CNX-BKK flights that were sold on the Thailand THAI site for THB6700 (approx).

Does anyone actually have any info on what the Australian Authorities are asking for?

Looks like we will have a rare chance to see a Thai Airways 747 in Melbourne as from the beginning of October the schedules show TG466 to be operated by a 747 (presumably until the A350 starts service).

Anybody booked in J on these flights may be able to nab some of the first class seats in the nose (although catering will still be J).

^ you'd certainly want to try and get an F seat. The angled business class are brutal for the red eye out of BKK

Looks like the other MEL flight is 772/773/77W, with the latter scheduled for many. I was wondering if they would take the 77W to use for the 465+466, but looks like they found a 747 instead

Was able to get 1A and 1K so I'm a happy chappy. Kinda deflects the disappointment of not flying the A350.

What did you do to select those seats? My Mum has a booking mid October which is now on the 747 but it won't let me view the seat map. Has auto allocated 14K upstairs.

I couldn't do seating on the Thai website but called Thai reservations and they did the allocation. I then logged into the Thai website and could see the allocated seats.

Got this response when emailing the Thai Melbourne office and requesting a seat in the First cabin:

We are not sure at this stage if the first class cabin will be closed due. We know that we cannot sell it.
You may check at time of check-in.

Might try over the phone.
