FAQ: Royal First Class Lounge and Royal Orchid Spa information and access.
Thought with the number of FCL and Spa questions littering this board it might be worth making a sticky with all the available information and also provide a place for members to ask their questions. Please let me know if you think it is a good idea and please let me know if any of the information I have included is wrong or if you feel anything else needs to be added.

On leaving the massage you will be left with an overall sense of well-being and total relaxation.
• Neck & Shoulder Massage (30 minutes) – This is a great massage for passengers who are stressed, work at the computer too much or don't relax well. Neck and shoulder problems from routine activities are among the most common area for massage therapists to address. Using specific techniques the therapist will work to loosen tight muscles around the neck and shoulders whilst simultaneously assessing how much tension is held in the body and how best to release it. You will board your flight feeling more relaxed and a little lighter on the shoulders.
• Relaxing Hand Massage (30 minutes) – Are your hands tired from all that clicking, driving, messaging and typing? If so, how about offering them a break and giving them a massage they truly deserve? By massaging the major channels/meridians of the arms and reflex points in the hands, this deep hand massage is designed to thoroughly release tension that accumulates in the hands and arms from our daily tasks. finishing with warm towels for both arms encourage muscle relaxation; this treatment can help to deliver a total sense of relaxation.
• Relaxing Foot Massage (30 minutes) – Let's help prepare your feet for your onward journey, by taking the weight of them and giving them a relaxing massage that they truly deserve. Foot massage is a well-known relaxation therapy to help take care of tired feet. With the gentle touch of the therapists' hands, a sense of overall relaxation is induced. Deeper pressure by the fingers will help to stimulate your vital organs.
Spa access rules:
TG F departure = F spa access

Q: Is it possible to book the spa treatment in advance?
A: No. You can book at First class check-in, at the FCL or the Spa itself - they will indicate the approx waiting time if more than a few minutes.
I have had some PMs from newer members who are confused by some of the abbreviations on this post. If you need help understanding them, FT has a great tool for looking up their meanings in the FT glossary.

As an additional information I would state that A/B/C/D gates are up to max 5 minutes walk from the FCL; E/F/G 10 minutes (for higher E (E7++) and G (4, 5) gates you have to walk fast to reach within 10 minutes

indeed the report really does mean 10 minutes before departure time (not boarding).
the first time you fly TG F it can be a bit disconcerting... you think they must have forgotten about you. But it's a mistake you only make once. After that you know they will come get you

Funny enough our escort used her superpowers to part the masses. It was quite comical how she managed to elbow a path for us to board the aircraft without the slightest bit of inconvenience.

I agree. I had this same experience on my first TG First experience departing BKK. I was too excited and a bit worried they'd forget me in the private room in the FCL. But they kept reassuring me they'd not forgotten me. Sure enough, they came to get me well past the boarding time on my boarding pass, but by the time we arrived at the gate boarding was just beginning. They seem to coordinate very precisely with the actual boarding times necessary so you're not standing unnecessarily waiting at the gate.

Sorry but I find this difficult to believe if heading to E concourse since there isn't any transpo through the D concourse (at least it hasn't ever been offered to me).
If the PA isn't grabbing pax until 3:50 with a subsequent walk to E concourse I'll put money the flight was posting a delay.

You have to hoof it in C, but last couple of times in F, they took me down one level, buggied me to the DEFG nexus and walked me back up through security there. Last time, I was with one other F pax who wanted to completely disrobe and totally unpack his bag at security which slowed things down a bit. I think we left the lounge about 15 minutes before departure but still had plenty of time.

I'll confirm that at NRT this morning, an agent walked me from TG F check in to the crew security lane, then left me to my own devices.
Oh, and the first post is out of date. TG F arrivals transferring to non-TG *A C or Y departures will be denied access to the TG F lounge. Three agents have so far informed me thus. Fortunately the SQ SKL lounge is not too bad.

Do we have any more recent travellers who can confirm this? Will update the OP if this is the case now?

I never though this was the case but assumed others had been successful.

Q - hot showers and slumber rooms
1. In December last year hubby transit BKK twice and after 13 hours flights he wanted a hot shower to refresh before next long haul flights. Both times there was no hot water in the showers. He ended up having very quick cold showers and cold shaves. He said he mentioned the water temperature problems to staff at first class lounge, but they did not seem to care. Has anyone had problems with cold showers in first class lounge at BKK? We are going to transit there in April, and it would be nice to have hit showers after 13 hours flights. Also, can we use the showers in the spa area across the Lounge?
2. We are going to be in BKK for more than 9 hours - horrible schedule change by TG. We don't want to sit up in the lounge for all this time, and would like to nap for a few hours. Are the slumber rooms for this? Do we have to book ahead, or just ask when we arrive? Are there beds in slumber rooms, or just chairs?
Thanks.

MUC-BKK F, BKK-SYD C: can I use the TG BKK F lounge?
The subject says it. I have read the TG web site which indicates I can use the C lounge since departing BKK flight is in C. But, with an arriving F flight, can I get F lounge access in BKK? FWIW, both flights are on TG.

(I had a problem with the jacuzzi in the spa suite one time... the water was cold... not very enjoyable.. that was the first and last time!)

the buggy or escort will take you straight to the F lounge.
you will however most likely need to make your own way to the SYD plane if you are in C.

I think the general rule is arriving in TG F and connecting to a two-class TG C gives you F lounge access. but given the problems with availability to SYD with the schedule changes I don't think you'll have a problem with F access.
