I just booked a flight in F on TG642 (BKK-NRT redeye) on 6 June, and the plane is listed as 777. I didn't find any seating information at all on SeatGuru and SeatExpert, so I came to search here. Now I know why! I guess the configuration is too new.
The only thing that concerns me is that there is no discussion about TG642 having the new planes, only TG676! Is that a cause for concern?

I don't understand how you have an F seat as there is no F on this flight on this day. You must be mixed up and actually hold a C seat or an F seat on a different flight. If not then I don't know what is going on with the TG schedule
EDIT: It is strange how the ANA website has an 'x' for F instead of an '-' showing that there is an F cabin but no award availability. Hmmm

I checked with TG website for TG642 on 6 June, while it shows the flight is operated by 777-300 but there is no F left to purchase. For award ticket, ANA shows x for F which means full. This is kinda weird as I don't think they sold out of F for this flight and their 3 77Ws won't be able to do CDG and 2 NRTs in the same time. Any idea?
TG642 is a 777, although it is a 777-300 (77R) owned by TG and not one of the 777-300ER's leased to TG by 9W. There is only Y and C on this plane and both are TG's own products.

Oddly enough, I can request a meal, but I can't change my seat assignment on this page. ExpertFlyer shows the following for TG642 on this date:
So the cabin (if it exists) is completely empty. I don't know what to make of all this yet!

With 2 773 from 9W, they can do one daily flight to CDG and one daily to NRT (TG675/677).
With the third 773 9W, they could do another daily run to NRT.
But that bird could be allocated to CDG when maintenance/tech.
EF loads TG642/643 with the seat map of a 773 9W. But, there is no F availabality on any of those (any day), so TG is probably not sure what plane they will operate, hence do not sell F.
Anyway TG642/643 will revert to the TG 777 once they introduce the second flight to CDG in July, which gets the 3rd 773 9W (according to EF).
Be ready for a lot of equipment swaps once they try to operate CDG with 3 773 and 1.4 daily flights to CDG.

Hi, quick question for TG experts here...
So, after June, BKK-NRT flights will be either 77W or 744. Our flight is TG640 mid June, so we are expecting 744. My question is will there still be a chance of equipment swap to the 747 All-Series on this route? We're flying C. Thanks in advance!

I think the negotiation is still going on to lease Air India's 3 77W straight out from the Boeing factory. Unfortunately, those will be fitted with AI's interior which is not as attractive as Jet's. The C seats are full flat but configured in pairs--not very convenient, and there are only 4 F seats. Integrating 2 more config into the fleet will not be easy.
Those Jet's 77W will be referred internally as 77J. So now TG is maintaining 4 777 sub-fleets
772 (772) - 2-class 777-200 with 1st gen lie flat in C and AVOD only in C (**)
777 (77E) - 2-class 777-200ER with 2nd gen lie flat in C and AVOD in all classes
773 (77R) - 2-class 777-300 with 2nd gen lie flat in C and AVOD in all classes
773 (77J) - 3-class 777-300ER with suite F, full flat C, and AVOD in all classes
(**) The 777-200s will be gradually retrofitted with AVOD in Y starting 2nd half of 2010.

They used to operate A340 with F class from MXP and then swapped to 772 because F loads were low. Maybe this could be a possible destination for an AI 77W?
