THAI 77W when and where?

Hello all - this is my first post in this forum

I heard that TG will lease 3 777-300ERs from Jet Airways. Anyone know when will they receive them and what routes to be expected? Thank you.

The first is expected to be with Thai Airways in Early April.

While the routes that are expected for these 77Ws will be:

Bangkok - Paris

Bangkok -Tokyo

The F cabin is the one that you want to try in 9W's 77W ^

As for the CDG route, would the 777W replace the 744 or would they be used for an additional ( possibly daytime) flight ?

I am not so sure if TK will hand back their 77W soon but JET Airways has 10 77Ws which 4 of them are with TK. My guess is that JET Airways has 6 77Ws left in their fleets where 3 will be leased to Royal Brunei and the other 3 will go to Thai Airways.

This will leave JET Airways to operate just A330-200s on long distance-routes. However, Jet Airways still have 2 77W orders on hold.

--------------------------------------------

If anything go as planned, the first 77W should be in April and will directly go into service.

--------------------------------------------

It is unlikely that THAI will add an additional flight into Paris, it is more likely that 744 will be replaced by 77W.

There's an article on the BKK Post's website that says TG is looking to lease 2-4 777-300s and they are hoping to get them from other airlines who have too many a/c rather than a leasing company because they think will get a better deal. And that they would replace the aging 747-400s on the Euro routes. They are looking for a/c with lie flat seats in C since that is what customers expect these days rather than the angled seats they are flying now.

Thai Needs to Lease 2-4 jets

My source in 9W says that they will definitely be keeping F on their international routes ex DEL & BOM. They have two daily flights ex BOM and one ex DEL so that is 3 aircraft that 9W will be keeping.

Recently they started to offer F ex their BRU hub to NYC which took up a further 2 planes. Didn't manage to ask about this.

Can't think of many Asian carriers out there with 77W's who are looking to decrease their fleet and have flat-beds in C apart from 9W.
This would be great news if TG leased 9W 77W's. 9W F seats with TG service would be a very nice addition to *A .

So is TG definitely leasing AI?
The Wiki page has been edited and now says that they will be leasing 3 from 9W and 3 from AI!
Both have very nice F products. I'm looking forward to flying either of these products with TG service!

The 3 9W aircraft will be arriving in April. I would love to book an F award from europe-NRT although I wonder if TG will be able to operate these aircraft on set routes without doing their infamous last-minute equipment changes.

AI 77W only has 4 seats in F. That's going to make it hard to get 2 F redemptions (let alone 1). Not really enough F seats for either CDG or NRT.

Yep, looks like 3 from Jet and 3 from AI.

Interesting challenge to manage such a fragmented fleet and more excitement for the aircraft lottery...

But at least both Jet and AI configurations offer very nice seating and IFE. Much better than TG's current aircrafts.
