actually, crawling along for me :(

goalie Feb 25, 2009 4:12 pm

and now database errors....:(

cblaisd Feb 25, 2009 4:17 pm

Database errors.
Crawling.
Calls to pages hang indefinitely.

Amazing that this is so hard to get fixed. :(

96 seconds to load one page

I'm getting DB errors, slow loading, and eventually some pages just timeout. When are we going to see an actual resolution to this? :o

MRKEY Feb 26, 2009 8:47 am

Database error
The database has encountered a problem

coachrowsey Feb 26, 2009 8:51 am

Crawling at snails pace. Very frustrating:mad:

GoingAway Feb 26, 2009 10:06 am

I think they fixed search, but forgot about the database or rest of the platform :(

I'm not so sure they fixed search either. I just tried to search for a thread in the Marriott forum I started in the last month but didn't want to have to click through pages to find it, so I did a search. It didn't bring it up - although it seemed to bring up a gazillion other threads. And it's slow.

JonathanIT Feb 26, 2009 10:34 am

Wow, this slooooow loading and "database error" thing is getting worse! What's the deal??

lo2e Feb 26, 2009 10:40 am

Ditto for me on the "database error" thing happening... very hard to use the site!

magiciansampras Feb 26, 2009 12:53 pm

Very slow right now. Difficult to use.

goalie Feb 26, 2009 12:55 pm

crawling along and db errors @ 11:55pst :(

wharvey Feb 26, 2009 1:37 pm

Ditto on both counts!

Yeah, I have problems the FTs is currently down and back on again. It was back & forth all of the time. So I think it would need to being fixed the Internet servers.

cheepneezy Feb 26, 2009 6:17 pm

Now that you 'fixed' the search function, the rest of the board seems broken. Sloooooooooooooooooow.

goalie Feb 26, 2009 7:29 pm

it's horrendously crawling along at a snail's pace in reverse with the parking brake still on at 6:29.pst

Yeah, They have problems the internet connection in COS. I think tech support need to get fixed immediately. Just be patient for while if tech support will able answered you back.

FlyingOnceMore Feb 27, 2009 2:41 am

......and the last six hours of FT has just disappeared. Recent posts are only visible by viewing individual threads.

Shuttle-Bored Feb 27, 2009 3:02 am

:D - trying to quote flyingoncemore's post doesn't work - presumably as it was posted in the last 6 hours, it doesn't exist!

Seeing very odd things - on the BA board, it's showing me "Current time = 09:57", and top thread time = 02:58 this morning - but going into the thread has posts at 09:54!

FlyingOnceMore Feb 27, 2009 3:20 am

Database sync is changing from one click to the next. The time beside 'You last visited' is somewhere between 3:31am GMT and the current time on any page load.

JALPak Feb 27, 2009 3:29 am

And I tried to post a new thread in JAL forum...it doesn't show up :(

matthewuk Feb 27, 2009 4:27 am

Definitely some problems with the forum home pages - things are getting posted (at least I have posted some on the BA board) and the list of posts is not updated.

Same with subscribed threads....

I suspect we'll see a lot of new posts with no replied once this is cleared up!!

HIDDY Feb 27, 2009 5:07 am

Yet another example of the reliability issues which plague this site on a constant basis. :td:

BA1A Feb 27, 2009 6:10 am

I can't seem to quote other people's comments either, it is taking me about 8 attempts to even log in and the BA forum looks knackered as the threads are not showing as being updated and all the times are wrong, even though the threads have been updated if you actually go in to them

Reliability seems very bad lately and always worse on Friday's for some reason.

goalie Feb 27, 2009 9:55 am

DB errors all over the place and very very slow @ 8:50pst

wijomas Feb 27, 2009 9:56 am

Are any of the FT admins actually doing anything in trying to fix this? Me thinks it's time for a hardware upgrade... :o

GoingAway Feb 27, 2009 10:21 am

showing the wear and tear once again -- can any relief be expected? Soon?

Fredd Feb 27, 2009 11:15 am

Very strange and mixed today. This morning my e-mail inbox had a couple of subscribed thread posts and a couple of PMs re the upcoming Oz Do.

When I opened FT this morning my first try was a sort-of cached page with no entries after 7 p.m. and some minutes (my time) last night, 11 hours earlier. It's been sporadic all morning, and I trust FT support is aware of this and working on it.

Cheers,
Fredd

Steph3n Feb 27, 2009 11:46 am

I tinhk most of the db errors are due to going back to vbulletin search, there is a special way you have to do vbulletin search in a large vbulletin site. It is done on different servers dedicated to search. I wonder if they are trying to use it all of the same servers.

Yes. We were working on the slave db server until 1am PST and then back working on it at 6:30am. We've been working on it all day since then. In order to be proactive, we did a hardware upgrade and unfortunately around that time is when these problems escalated.

We hope. At this time, the system should be stable, but there may be some turbulence from time to time as we attempt to modify the current configuration.

Once again, this is not the regular vBulletin search and yes, search is being run from it's own server.

ok good, because no way it would handle the volume of posts here unless it was its own server.

Thanks for the update IB-Dick ^ Seems to be relatively stable at the moment which is a good sign!

FlyinHawaiian Mar 2, 2009 12:23 pm

Starting to see some slowness right now; pages are taking a while to load. No DB errors yet.

Kiwi Flyer Mar 6, 2009 2:46 pm

FT is very slow for me right now. Updating where we all live is difficult at this speed.

boxo Mar 10, 2009 8:57 pm

Lots of timing out right now, no?

cblaisd Mar 11, 2009 3:26 am

Threads taking 150 seconds to open.

At the time you posted this we were having an issue with the slave db server. It's not 100% stable, but it's better.

Same issue at this time, only not as bad of an issue.

We are activly working on fixing this problem and should have a solution in place soon.
