FYI, Fri at 2:30EST on DSL still painfully slow
I know you are working on this. I could not connect at all on 56.6 Modem with laptop...Took forever.
This is just to make FT staff aware that the corrections yesterday with corrupted forum has not helped here.

New format way tooo slow
I know a lot of expense has probably gone into the new format, I find it to to be way too slow to load even with high speed connections.
I much prefer the old flyer talk forums!

I agree! the old format was much easier. Also having trouble traversing it. Am often told that the web server not available and I have to start all over. Give me a break...choose a font size????

Concur totally with JIM900068
I too much prefer the old format- sometimes you can just give people too many options. The new format is too crowded
There just seems to be so many different subtle shades of blue and other faint colors that it actually makes it difficult to read the pages.

I was having the same problem - and I'm on a T3 (very fast!) connection.
But as of a few minutes ago - pages are suddenly loading very fast. Now I can get around....with no more than a second wait (max).
My guess is that once things are to a new normal this board will be fast again for everyone.

Yes, I agree, it is way to slow. Also, the "New Posts" feature is nowhere near as good as the old format.
When you click on "New Posts" here, it just shows you a listing of all the new posts throughout the system. Whereas, the old "New Posts" link on the old board would show you all the new posts for that day, arranged in order by forum. So, forums that I wanted to skip, I would just scan past that entire section. Now, there is no way that I can do that!

I'm sure they just have some bugs to work out ... maybe the new software is just a huge resource hog on the servers... and it requires server upgrades.
Just be patient, I'm sure Randy and team will get it figure out.
All in all, the new software is much more feature rich and best long term solution for FT.

I do find it much more graphically pleasing :-:
But the speed is waaaaaaay toooooooo slooooooow. Not worth the trade off

The speed is increasing nicely for me, maybe just takes a few days to get up to cruising along y'all. Have a little patience and I agree there's probably some bugs to work out.... they'll get everything tweeked along the way.
I'm so happy the Forums are back up (slow, fast, don't matter, just let me get to them somehow, someway!).
I LIKE the new format... finally I can see some smilie faces to plaster into my messages and won't have to keep using those old 1990 ASCII faces :-)

I have no idea what I am doing NOW. I really had no idea what I was doing before, but now I am TOTALLY lost. I am currently at the AC at LAX and this new format is befuddling. Someone hanging over my shoulder says he will help me. What do I do??? Somehow I do not trust the new format.
I usually look for the best deals on MR and the entire AA forum to point me in the right direction. I am lost!!!
