It looks like there are a few corrupted/lost threads in TravelBuzz, but none in OMNI, so I'm rebuilding that forum to see if it helps any.

Dan,

Is there a possibility that OMNI is reaching a threashold regarding total post counts causing the recent problems associated with the forum?

Yeah, that's probably what's happening... some of the forums have a lot of posts/activity, which causes the server to bog down occasionally... that slowdown then can cause file problems which lead to corruptions.

I have been messing with different Pop up software, looking at XP SP1 as a cause of general slowdown...and following a very interesting thread concerning NAV and Symantec dropping the ball, causing all kinds of system slowdowns...particularly manifesting itself in slow running MS Office apps. After running browser checks, I feel slow loading FT is probably at the FT server end....unless someone in FT IT knows something I don't

We've been rebuilding threads and the search indexes, which is a major drain on the servers. We're done now, so the board should pick up its pace...

slow in general, no OMNI access at all

about since 1 hour ago (since FlyerTalk time Monday 2:30pm): FlyerTalk in general is very slow (I am as usual on a fast cable-connection, and everything else but FT works fine) - and OMNI can't be accessed at all.

I think you broke Omni, Rudi!

Seriously, I saw a ghost riding one of your posts. It had "unregistered user" with a blank post.

I'll bet that's a corrupt thread causing things to go amok.

Yeah, it (OMNI) is dead as of around 1843 EST.
