Flying ORD to BOM via ZRH, booked on UA with segments on LX. Tagged with my MileagePlus FF #, currently on Premier Silver. I'm unable to reserve seats for my LX legs and am getting conflicting information. Called UA and they routed me to LX.
1. LX says I will only get seats at the airport since flight is marketed by UA. 2. UA says they will only issue boarding passes and seats for UA operated flights, and I'll have to get my seat AND boarding pass in ZRH for onward travel. LX says I will get boarding and seat assignments for all segments (UA and LX) on date of travel at airport. What are my options here? Am I getting accurate information? |
wait until OLCI.....
|
I'm on an itinerary UA-LX-LX. I'd love to grab 4A (reserved for SEN and HON, of which I am neither) as soon as OLCI opens.
However, since I check in with UA, I can't get access to LX OLCI until I fly the UA segment. Given that others will probably snap up the seat before I fly the first UA segment, am I stuck? Does anyone know a way around this issue? |
Does anyone know, why seat 2A in F is blocked on all LX 777 flights. Even SEN hotline is unable to assign them. Will they become available for online check-in?
I knew about the so called "facility seats" on LX' A330 and A340, but those could be assigned for SEN and HON in advance, |

Blocked seats on A330
Flying with LX A330 in J. Row 14 appears to be a double seat but only the window seat is reservable, The aisle one next to it is not selectable at all no X, no star ( which is usually the case when kept for elites)
On Seatguru it comes up as a regular double seat but I'm confused about what LX website is showing. Anyone had that ? |
6a on LX A330?
long time listener, first time poster.....
I'm flying LX in November TLV-ZRH-JFK, using United points for a business class ticket. It is the A330 for both legs. I've done the research, and I see most people recommending the "thrones" - I see that 6A is available on both of my flights, which seems to get good reviews for the larger foot cubby. I was wondering if there was a reason to avoid 6A? Is there light or noise spillage from the galley? Any reason not to grab it for both legs? Thanks! I searched and didn't see anything about this yet, hope I didn't miss it and I'm posting in the right place |
More of a generic fleet question: does the A319 still have acceptable seating? According to swiss.com, they still have 138 seats vs 156 on Easyjet's A319. Since the LX A319 lacks the double overwings exits they presumably can't push it up to LCC levels of seating excellence, do they compensate with non-slimline seats instead?
(Is it possible Swiss will get rid of the A319 once all the CS100/CS300s are here?) |

(Is it possible Swiss will get rid of the A319 once all the CS100/CS300s are here?) Subject to LX plans with their GVA operations, the A319 subfleet will be replaced by C-series in the very near future, these 5 planes are getting very old. |

The A319 seats are the same as on most of the A320-321. Whether that renders them acceptable is a matter of preference, but I have survived 3 hr flights in them.

(It's worth noting that it's not really the seat that's causing comfort issues, it's more about the padding that's on the seat. UA's recaro seats with the latest padding are quite nice IMHO, even for 5-6 hour flights.) |

Any thoughts on the mini cabin (rows 4/5) vs the main cabin? I'm not SEN/HON, so the chances of getting them are probably slim to start with.
Looking at seatguru, 8A and K appear to be the ones to avoid. Thanks. |
Booked MAD-ZRH-BOS on business, through aeroplan. Ticketed, got the booking reference. Can't pull it up on swiss, can't change the seats on Aeroplan. Any way to pull up the reservation? Tried checkmytrip.com and it couldn't find the reference.
Edit- got it. |
While checking my seat reservation on LX flights in November I've noticed the following which I don't remember seeing before.
On European routes, we guarantee a seat in the chosen category. On intercontinental flights, we guarantee you the chosen seat number. |
*G seat assign
I'm not SEN/HON, I booked the LX flight in May and travel last month, I can choose the seat even extra legroom on 777s for BKK flight for free. And just now I booked again don't know why is chargeable now.

I'm trying to figure out what would be the best options for me on two flights. I'm travelling alone.
On A330, I currently have 6A, which is the only throne available to me. Anything special I should be worried about? Other options are K seats rows 6 and 8-14. On B773, I currently have 4K. Seatguru has this green for having lots of legroom - but does it still require jumping over the passenger in 4J if they are sleeping? My other options are thrones in rows 7 and 14-17. Thanks |
