Finally!

Got the 10,000 and 20,000 both today, along with regular spend points. Application was on July 6, and I met the spend requirement before the 15th of July. Situation now normal.

UPDATE: And got a call the next day from the original lady I had spoken to, telling me that the points were now in my account!

I just went through the same thing with messaging on AmEx website. The agent who was responding to my question regarding my 30,000 starpoints was adamant that there were 4 weeks in a month and so my 12 week time frame was still a few days away. I pointed out that my 12 weeks for waiting ended, actually, last week. I thought I was being nice not bugging them for my points until the 12 weeks had past ... and she wanted to argue about me waiting 3 more days!

So, I just made a phone call about it and now am in the "we are checking on this" queue. At first the phone agent didn't see that I had signed up for the bonus miles, but after a minute she verified that I should be getting them. At least she didn't argue about 12 weeks.

I just want to get them posted so it is off my to-do list. Until I read this thread I didn't realize that many were having this issue.

I am glad you have received your points. That mean we are not that hopeless and maybe points will post soon. As if now, no bonus points on my account.

What day of the month does your Amex statement closes?

From the email of a few weeks ago, my points were due in my account by yesterday. They didn't arrive and I emailed Amex customer service, who told me they'd "open an investigation."

More waiting....

My points (20,000) posted today. the initial 10,000 posted 4 months ago, so I am caught up.

Hopefully it works out ok for the rest of y'all.

I, too, had to call to get my points awarded. I had actually forgotten that I was owed the points, but finally noticed it at about 14 weeks after meeting spending requirements. The very friendly agent I spoke with told me she would open an investigation as to why I hadn't received my points. Then a few days later, she called me back letting me know that my points would be added to my account a couple days after my statement posted. And VOILA! there the points were.

Another data point...

Applied both business and personal SPG/AMEX cards in 6/2010. Satisfied the $1000 spend within a month for both cards. Oh, I had a previous personal SPG/Amex card before in 2008. The T&C published by Amex did not indicate that I won't get the 30k bonus points for personal card, as it reads:

Terms and Conditions

1. Offer not available to existing Starwood Preferred Guest (Business) Credit Cardmembers. To be eligible, Cardmember must charge $1,000 of eligible purchases to the Starwood Preferred Guest (Business) Credit Card during the first three months of Cardmembership. Cardmembership commences on the date the Card application is approved. 30,000 Starpoints will be credited to Cardmember's account 8 to 12 weeks after the $1,000 spend threshold is reached. Offer expires 7/6/10. Eligible purchases do not include cash and cash equivalent transactions (including balance transfers, convenience checks, and cash advances), finance charges, fees, and purchase credit adjustments.

Talked to Amex rep and was assured that I would get 30k points for both cards. Biz card bonus points (was told by Amex rep that all these all biz bonus points) posted rather quickly as:
+10000 SPG AX DEFAULT (08/02/2010)
+20000 SPG AX NEW MBR SPEND BONUS-CSR (08/02/2010)
+10000 SPG AX 1ST PURCHASE OPEN (AX) (07/26/2010)

Inquired about my personal card bonus points and was told that they will be posted after 12 weeks of that $1000 spend requirement. Inquired again a couple of times after 12 weeks, was told that I will not get the 30k bonus points for personal card since I had one before. I countered that this is not what in the T&C but the Amex rep won't budge. She said the T&C I read her applies for biz card, not personal card, and she is going to mail a copy of the personal card T&C (which will say previous/existing personal cardholder won't qualify) to me.

So do I have a case to push forward to get my personal card 30k bonus points? Does someone have a saved copy of the T&C for personal card?

Southfl, Welcome to Flyertalk uhhhh....That would be 40,000 point for your biz card. Can you let us know how you get an extra 10k?

Mine came through, 20+10. No word from Amex customer service, but the points are indeed in my account.

I got the extra 10K on my business card (for total of 40K), but wife did not on her business card. This was likely due to timing. We each received 30K on our personal cards. We were not previous Amex SPG card holders.

Still waiting here. Called last week and they said I should get the points and they would start an investigation and call me back within two days. Well it's been over a week and nothing.

I called in and spoke with a representative. She started a resolution investigation and a week later called to let me know that I would be awarded the points on my next statement (nearly 4 weeks away). I'll have to wait and see if the points get awarded then.

So much for the points being awarded within 12 weeks of the spending limit being reached according to the T&C's.
