What type Navigation system in BMW 5 series (LDAR)
I'm back from vacation and Sixt MUC gave me a nearly new black BMW 530d on my LDAR rental. I tried to get an AUDI A8 on the phone and at the counter but they couldn't find me one.
The BMW was a lot of fun in the Swiss and Austrian alps with the sport mode and Dynamic Traction Control on. I saw an Audi A8L in a parking lot and it was a beautiful car but I'm not disappointed. I only got to open up to 170km/h on the German motorway north of Munich before hitting construction traffic.

Anyone who knows?

However, the "Arrow Display" was long time ago. On current Models, the difference is the amount of Drives (Business has a combined Nav/Music DVD, Pro has seperate Slots) and Business has 2D Map view while Pro has 3D (which I switch to 2D for better overview anyway)

Not sure if Hon2 really still needs this information a half year after posting his question ;-)
But better late than never.

I am renting in MUC next week, booked an LDAR. Currently reserved at downtown "ZENTRUM" (small) location because it is more convenient and the rate is lower than at the airport. Will I have a much better chance at getting an A8/7 series/Lexus, etc... that would make the extra 45 Euro premium for renting at the airport worthwhile?

As of my experience (even if I am not able to book any premium car due to age restrictions):
Even if you have no status with Sixt an upgrade is not barred. Sixt generally is rather generous. Basicly I think (experienced) that upgrades at smaller stations are better as they may not have any car belonging to the class booked. Airport stations are very large (especially MUC), so they mostly have enough cars in each class. So mostly (if you do not have any status) you get what you booked.
To better your chances: Sign up for LHW Leaders Club (free) and match status to Sixt Gold. Good luck!
Cheers,

The opposite is lived practice:
(speaking of experience for bookings without status, not talking about my diamond status)
Smaller stations often dont have any premium car, so they would have to order your booked car type or the upgrade car. Nearly no small station has a S-Class, 7series BMW... available, so they just order your booked class and mostly cant offer any upgrade above LDAR.
Airport stations on the other hand have all options and often give upgrades when booking LDAR towards S-Class, A8 or sport-coupes as BMW 6series ...
You often get honored for paying the extra-fee at airports and therefore are offered the higher class.
But of course: No guarantee !
Sultanbinaber for sure is right in the point, that any status for sure helps your chances :-)
