You can earn airline miles plus hotel points with Sixt?@:-) Didn't know that. Nobody tells me these things.

Exactly 500 HH points per rental. Why didn't you ask?

Oh, BTW, Sixt likes me. I have a BMW 650 for over a week now.......and it's an upgrade from the lowest category! Originally it was only a 24h rental. Will keep it for another 4 days before they get it back.

Cool. I guess the trick is to start with a very short rental, then extend as needed. However, the extension would be at their daily rate, which is much higher than a weekly or monthly rate.

Also, you are Double Diamond and HON. A worthless Platinum / SEN member like me wouldn't get a 650 from the lowest rate. Bummer. I certainly never get ANY upgrade on my monthly rates since the soccer WC. "New policy", they keep telling me.

The real trick is making friends with a small station. I am extremely happy with the Freilassing station since they became an outlet of SZG.

Well, the only small station close to me is Rosenheim, and they are supposed to be bad. And they don't even rent SUVs, convertibles or S-Class there. So I don't think they'd actually HAVE interesting cars to upgrade to.

Rosenheim is a franchise. Like most Sixt franchises they have a hard time to survive. I used to get good cars, when they had them, but that is always a matter of luck. The guy who owns it now is ok though.

Freilassing is a corporate station and has access to the cars at SZG. I only rent the smallest car groups. The smallest car they ever gave me was an E200 and they apologized profoundly!

They also let me drop off my cars at SZG w/o the stupid one way fee to Austria of 100 EUR. And they did an incredible job when I managed to lock up the keys in the car 2 weeks ago.

more M&M miles

bummer that you were not aware of this

Probably this is all old news for others here but I found out that you can earn 1000 LH miles per rental. But actually it's not all that easy. You have to start with earning Vodafone Stars point. You'll get 1k points for every rental. This points can be transfered to payback points 1:1 which can be then transfered to LH 1:1. So earning vodafone stars points with Sixt finally results in 1k M&M miles per rental. But I guess in this case there is no double dipping with HH.

Since I get 2000 miles, anyway, I don't see the...um...point.

Yes I know, it depends on the billing adress but I thought that is promo will end sooner or later while the 1000 vodafone star points is no promo. Or is there another way to get the 2k miles per rental. As I normally use my german billing adress, because it is easier for me, I only get the 500 miles and 500 HH points. But I won't complain

Am now in MUC.. I reserved IDMR (VW Passat w/ AC) and I got a BRAND NEW Audi A4 station wagon with A/C (well, not that I need it!) with navigation. It had only 14 kilometres on it!

Reading the details, it says you can earn Roadmiles in addition to your regular collection possibilities. As I already earn M&M and HHonours, this would imply triple dipping???

Does anybody have any experience with that?
Answering my own question:
There is no triple dipping like M&M, HH and Roadmiles. However, double dipping is possible with Roadmiles, by using M&M as primary earning option and Roadmiles (instead of HH) as secondary. Especially when renting a Mercedes it seems to be worth it, as it gives the opportunity to earn extra 1000 RMs.

For the other cases I haven't decided yet, if I prefer 500 HH points or 500 RMs.

I am trying to rent a 9 person vehicle through Sixt (one of those MB - Vitos). Are these any good? We are going from SW Germany to Paris next week with 9 people and instead of taking our two cars I think this will be advantageous.

How to ensure double dipping ?

Having just received a SIXT Platinum (comped from HHonors Diamond), I've booked a holiday car at SIXT PMI (Mallorca, Spain) for 11 days in July at a fair price. All my professional car rental has been in the US, so I have no SIXT experience up to this point.

I'd like to make sure I "Double Dip" and receive both HHonors points (hopefully 5000 for first Platinum rental) and SAS Eurobonus points (1500 special offer until end of july).

I booked a Internet rate, and put my Platinum number in the comments field as suggested in this forum. As FF program I put in SAS.

Do I need to do anything before pick-up to ensure I get both Hilton and SAS points ? Or can I just have them PMI station enter the Hilton and SAS details at pick-up ?

Apart from the points, of course I hope for a upgrade (booked EDMR, e.g. VW Polo). Any experience with PMI treatment of Platinums ?

What you should do is put your HH number in the field called Order No. preceeded by HH. The result looking like HH<your number>. This is the way a (knowing) Sixt agent has to do it, but they quite often screw it up.

If it's in the comment field, it requires an active interference by an agent transferring your number to the other field in the correct way. Chances are may be 50% that it works out. I'd suggest, you cancel your reservation online and make a new one in the way I pointed out above.

I did it like this hundreds of times and it always works. And yes, this is sufficient also to get the first rental bonus.

Your chances are very high to get your Platinum u/g. Sixt is very good at that.

I think this is a bad idea. the Vito does 130 km/h (maybe sufficient for france, but not germany), is expensive, has no navigation and poor equipment. I would take 2 cars.
have you ever driven in a vito in paris? this is the long 9people version. parkhouses will be too small for it and streets are, too.
