I took the online survey SQ asked some of its website users to take a few months back about the website's strengths and weaknesses. The exclusive use of javascript-links that prevented the use of "open item in new window" was my number one gripe! I'm very pleased the fixed that.

But I'm not (yet) keen on the new website colors. I liked the dark blue and gold of the old site that matched the corporate and aircraft colors. All of the paisleys could be a bit much sometimes, but it was good branding. Now everything is multi-toned blues and greys, a lot like Korean Air's new uniform and cabin colors. It makes things look washed out.

Use the feedback button, everyone! Supposedly they're still passing comments along to their IT team (at least that's what the very quick email response from some customer relations person said). At least they're admitting that it will take a few days before everything is set up.

One development I sort of like is the ability (perhaps new, perhaps not, I'm not sure) to check *schedules* to and from cities SQ doesn't serve itself but are served by interline carriers. For example, you can check schedules from Atlanta to Singapore, and SQ doesn't even codeshare to Atlanta. It lists a wide range of options, such as DL flights connecting to EWR, SFO, or LAX, KE flights ATL-ICN connecting to SQ ICN-SIN, or even KL flights ATL-AMS connecting to SQ AMS-SIN. That's cool.

But what you still can't do is actually book the tickets. For booking, you've got to originate and terminate in an SQ city. Although the website does give some interline options (e.g., a ticket from Asia to SFO might give you the option of SQ as far as LAX and UA up to SFO) the ability to start from or end in non-SQ via interlines still isn't there. Hopefully it will be available soon.

Thanks for the tip! ^

I went to Singaporeair.com and tried to log in but was unable. When I clicked Home, I was in someone else's account! On another occassion, the krisflyer number saved on my computer is someone else's and not mine!

So, remember to log-out!

The new website lacks SQness IMHO.

Has anyone found the airplane seat maps on the new web site? I've looked all over for them. I can use the ones on seatguru.com but I liked the ones on the SQ web also.

You can find seat maps linked from this page. Are these the ones you were looking for?

Thanks! At least I know where it is supposed to be. Right now, the site is displaying a mostly blank page at that link. I'll send an inquiry.

Yeah, it looks like that is one of the pages they are still working on.

The flight booking engine is broken. It looks like it was meant to be made better, but it doesn't work anymore. I was just about the book a flight on it as well

Trying to book:

2 Dec LHR-SIN
5 Dec SIN-BKK
11 Dec BKK-SIN-LHR

This was SO easy on the old system, you just put a stopover in on the way out. Now you have to either do the three legs separately (LHR-SIN-BKK-LHR), or (when that doesn't work) do a fourth leg (i.e. LHR-SIN-BKK-SIN-LHR).

Neither of the above work.

What am I supposed to do? I want to book online to be able to OLCI, but can't actually do it.

I feel your pain, PhilH. That's exactly the functionality I've been missing. Please send them feedback via the (parts of the) website (that work).

I think you can OLCI even with an offline booking. It's immediate seat selection that you won't be able to do unless you book online ... until March 2006, that is.

Sorry, I don't know what option there is for people trying something like what you're attempting, except wait for the website to be fully operational.
