According to statusmatcher.com TK will only issue the the status match challenge to those holders of the following status:
Oneworld Emerald
Finnair Plus Gold (Oneworld Sapphire)
Skyteam Elite Plus
Emirates Gold/Platinum
Etihad Gold
Oman Air Gold
Other Gold Card holders including *G are out of luck.
Please report your experience in this thread and note the useful information in the Wiki below.
It appears that status matches are only granted once per lifetime, so think carefully before requesting if you might not re-qualify.

Timeline can range from few hours to few days, be patient!

It looks like TK might also ask you for a scan of your Passport now. So if you are in a hurry better submit it right away in the first place with all the other documents.

Multiple reports from December 16th 2015 onwards state that TK now only grants a match to 4 months "elite trial", requiring 1 international TK flight during the 4 months following the match to extend it to one year and 15000 k TK status miles during that year to extend elite status to 2 years:

TK has clarified that once a status match is given any miles collected during the first year of the match do not count for renewal - despite the email suggesting that 25,000 miles collected in the first year will secure renewal. TK has said that it is necessary to collect 37,500 in the second year to maintain Elite status for a further two years once the period of the status match ends.

Welcome Miles&Smiles Turkish Airlines' advantageous Frequent Flyer Programme. Elite card trial period will be valid for 4 months. As of start date of elite membership within 4 months trial period one international Turkish Airlines flight should be realised for extending your card validity date to 1 year, if 15.000 status miles accumulate at the end of the first year elite membership will extend 1 year more and the total validity date will be 2 years.

Hi all,
Back in Dec 2022 I applied for a Turkish Airlines status match to Elite, but it took weeks to process and I never got a chance to complete the trial period. Now Im told I cant match again, even though I never really benefited.
Im SkyTeam Elite Plus / Flying Blue Gold, with a lot of corporate travel, and have a refundable TK booking this Saturday to test their product.
Has anyone managed to get an exception in a case like this? Any tips on how to escalate or who to contact?

If you were matched but dit not fly in the 4 month period you need 1 flight - even if it was for them to be slow with matching - then you have been matched. And they unlikely will match you again.....that is why it is so important to plan you matching date well, in sync with upcoming flights taking into account processing time. In my case I also had weeks of back and forth before the match came through, but luckily my flights were a month+ out.

I have submitted an online feedback form detailing that I wish to get matched from BA Gold and Virgin Gold. I stated that I recently (few weeks back) completed a flight with TK.
They came back and asked for membership card with my detials on it and my recent (past 2 months) flights statement. Which I provided in the feedback form as attachment. Also asked for a copy of my passport.
After all these they have granted the status match to TK Elite for 4 months, and if I take a TK flight within the 4 months period, I will be granted for further 8 months (one year in total).
So it's a success. Thanks all for your help, tips, and guidance.

I would say take 3 weeks for back and forth in case of bad luck.
They apparently now ask a 1 TK flight before they allow status match so have that.
I personally was fine in 2024 with booking something in November while applying late September/early October for status match (at the time no need to show a TK flight before the match). I had 2 weeks back and forth on queries like what did you fly with your current alliance.

I do not understand why it would take so much time ... In my case, it was all done in 3 days, taking into consideration that I knew they would expect to see a recent TK flight in my account prior to initiating the process. Responses always came in less than 24 hours, usually in the early mornings. I asked for the match (from SQ Gold), they sent me their requirements, I provided what they asked for, I was matched - it was as simple as that, and mind you at each stage I received feedback from a different CSR, without any challenges in communication. One warning: there is 0% flexibility in what they require, if they ask for something, find a way to provide it, there will be no compromises made, so read carefully.
I was matched around 20.10. last year, my 4-month trial period just ended at the end of February, I had the required minimum one flight (in reality, more than one), my status has been automatically extended until the end of October and as long as I accumulate 15k status miles from TK flights until then (I foresee no issues), it will be extended for another full year, after which I will have to start requalifying under the standard requirements.

I applied for my husband and myself. Identical information. Only extra thing TK asked for was a scanned physical FFP card.
My husband FFP card had an expiry date, mine did not. His status match was done within a few hours. My status match took 3 days of back and forth to get approved. All ended well.

Status match request timeline
I'm planning to initiate a status match soon with TK as well so thank you for sharing your experience. Could you provide a timeline of the sequence of events - like how long it took for them to reply after you initiated the status match, to them asking for your details, to the successful status match?
I applied (sent feedback form on website) on a Thursday. I already had a recently completed TK flight (I added its booking ref) at that point.
Got a reply next day asking for the membership card (is used BA app screenshot of the card) together with past fligths and a copy of my passport.
After all docs were provided the status match was confrimed the following day.

Hi .. Did someone status match from Aegean recently?
Where are now in infinite loop that turkish requires statement of flown flights in last two months, but it seems to be impossible to grab it from aegean website in required form - two months, name, membership number.
Any ideas on this? .)
edit: so , after couple of attempts with screenshot from aegean my account section, with expanded menu from website header, but without flight history, turkish accepted status match with challenge. It was complicated .)

Flights with TK numbers, on TK aircraft and operated by TK - no exceptions. The same applies to the lowered qualified requirements for the first 4 / respectively subsequent 8 months in order to extend the matched status to 1 year / respectively 2 years.

You need to send evidence in unchangeable / uneditable format, e.g. image or as you suggest pdf. For me a browser screenahot of my SQ account details / transactions worked and was accepted, just make sure all requested details are included.
