Just because it's out of J it doesn't mean it's less worthy. It was fresher, whereas the Rare came across as a champagne you'd drink with a fish meal. Was quite deep. Another lady in the same cabin thought the same. Much prefer La Grande Dame by some distance.

Preferences are personal. I thought Rare was excellent and appreciated the depth that, to my palate, comes from its high Chardonnay content. That style won’t appeal to everyone, but it very much works for me.

I agree with you (similar preferences).

I did a tasting of both the Bordeaux and the Portuguese, and couldn't decide between the two - so they poured a full glass for both. The Bordeaux was classic and drinkable on its own; the Portuguese needed food/cheese but was very interesting and tasty (to me). I didn't want to eat/drink much on my particular flight but both of them tasted very good.

That's probably because it wasn't TSA at all. SFO is one of the few airports in the US that contracts out to a private company for passenger screening.

I am very surprised to hear this, I think the Rare is an excellent wine, what was it about it that you didnt like?

I suppose it could have been corked. I once had a glass of LPGS in the CCR from a corked bottle, and it tasted pretty bad.

Ah ha, well that would explain it! Compared to my JFK experience it was a world apart.

All was good but a bit un-memorable. The 2nd meal croquette did look like baby food!

Drinks selection is really good. The fizz list is truly world class. The Portuguese white and red are well worth a taste.

BA 127 LHR - DOH Afternoon

The main is identical to LHR - DXB but we got a light meal instead of the breakfast.

Let me just say the Rare Millesime Brut 2015 was absolutely amazing.

I added a bonus picture of the new amenities bag as it’s recently been introduced.

We're only eight days into this new thread and we've deleted six off-topic posts related to amenity bags. Feel free to have the discussion in an 'amenity bag' thread.
