Google Fi explanation posted by bocasierra in April 2022: Google Fi submits charges using two different businesses. Only merchant number 4045974169 will receive wireless credits, merchant number 1047161427 will trigger the streaming credit, if we come across this, we may issue credit manually."

Airfare pricing is similar to what you pay with the airlines. Yes, there's variety in that you can choose Econ, PE, Biz, and 1st. What you cannot do is bring up a specific fare code that you might have found using ExpertFlyer, Matrix, or BookwMatrix. You can call directly into Business Platinum Travel (not Expedia) and book the specific fare code using one of their agents for $39.

Not getting the 5x directly with the airline is a con.

My primary phone is an iPhone. I upgrade every year and previously always bought Apple Care+ upon upgrading as I choose to go without a case. That cost an extra $200. Then, right before upgrading, I would pay $100 for an Express Replacement and gift this like new iPhone to a friend or family member.

Although the Amex insurance caps out at just $800 (IIRC), the deductible is lower ($50) than what I was paying for express replacements. This wont cover the cost of an express replacement but it should be enough to get things fixed when I inevitably break my phone during the year. This (iPhone 13 Pro Max) is the first time I didnt get Apple Care+. Seems great on paper but I have yet to try to exercise the insurance in practice. Well see.

Indeed is pretty great for small businesses that need to hire people but dont have big brand name (ie MBB). It has been more effective for us than Glassdoor or LinkedIn. Not sure how the credit works yet but if its just a straight statement credit, it is genuinely awesome for small business owners. Tbh, I love these changes.

If it cost me $39 to book with an agent, it pretty much negates the 5x earning then. The Biz Platinum would be too good if it earns 5x booking directly so I guess AMEX wouldn't allow that.

I also upgrade my iPhone every year. However, I do buy a case. I can never justify getting AppleCare.

What do you mean by "like new"? Does Apple replace your iPhone with a refurbished iPhone?

Maybe you can can explain to me the value proposition with AppleCare. I can't convince myself to get it.

Would love to see some dps about how the credits work. I'm also interested in the Adobe credit, but I don't know how it works.

The new Biz Platinum is definitely a very good card and IMO, it's better than the Personal Platinum.

Is this correct? I was under the impression that booking through (B)PTS in fact earns 5x airlines. Been a while since I've done it so maybe my memory fails me or they changed it.

I don't know. I don't have the card at the moment. It would be nice to know. I prefer to book directly from the airlines but will make an exception for OTA if the price is right.

Although there only so much printer ink one can buy outside of the Office 365 subscription which I also use a Dell credit on.
The credit is only eligible for Acrobat Pro with E-Sign. I don't know what the difference between that and the regular Acrobat product is. I was hoping to use the credit for Adobe Premiere Teams, which seems to be eligible if I get the annual subscription.

I agree with you, if the credit works as you described it, it'll free me up to use the Dell credit for something else.

Regarding the cell phone protection: What if you have multiple biz plat cards and charge $10 to first, $10 to second and the remaining $48 of cell phone to the third card? Sorry if this is annoying question, my feeling is answer will be “there’s only one way to find out.” Thanks

Will partial charges even qualify for insurance?

(Business) Platinum Travel Services is separate from Expedia. Both are "AMEX Travel". (B)PTS gets 5x, charges $39, and there are no hour long waits. Expedia also gets the 5x, has no charge with the hour long wait. In case of emergency, the $39 is worth it. There are different numbers to reach one from the other.

Idk if its a good deal for most people. I just prefer to go caseless and am not careful enough to justify that preference. I think its worth it over not having no insurance but its definitely not worth it over having Amex Business Plat insurance imo.

Yeah, like new means a refurb to Apple. Tbh, Apple refurbs are basically new with a new casing, battery, screen, etc. Not sure if they replace the flash but its effectively new to me and more than good enough to give as a gift.

Since when did the Business Platinum earn 5x from Expedia?

I don't mind waiting as I can put the call on speakerphone.

I find iPhones to be way too slippery without a case. The Apple silicone cases are fairly grippy. The insurance comes with the Business Platinum while I'll have to pay for AppleCare so big difference.

Well, I don't give my phones away. I just sell them to help pay for my new phones.

Not from Expedia directly as an OTA. It's what the AMEX Travel website uses under the hood when you are booking. And will earn 5x.

(BPTS) are a 3rd party agent AMEX used to use and still uses, but you must now call in. This has a $39 charge, and no different than dealing with a regular 'ol travel agent except you can earn 5x or redeem w/ the 35% rebate.

Hope that helps. AMEX doesn't make it easy on this matter.

A few questions if anyone can help me out.
Will I be able to get this welcome offer if i previously had business platinum?
I dont see anything on the landing page about the airline incidentals credit or the global entry credit do those still exist?
Prob going to go for this anyways even if not eligible for the sub but then I might product change my business green instead of opening new account.

AFAIK, AMEX SUBs are generally once per lifetime.

That I know. I said I had the card but I never got the sign up bonus. This was when back when I was a dumb kid learning the game that thought I could outsmart the system. I opened biz plat with a 25k spend req, did some shady MS too much too fast, got a FR and narrowly avoided a shutdown. My credit limit on the card remained at zero for the duration of the welcome offer so I was blocked from meeting the sub. I have since repaired my relationship with amex, and wondering if I would be eligible for the bonus right now if I would apply again. Showing 150k sub on my login right now, does that mean anything about my eligibility or will they just deny me the bonus?

Also about the airline incidentals and global entry, would a CSR have any accurate information?
