From a conversation I had with a manager on the UA side a few months back, though it wasn't explicitly stated it was very strongly hinted that catering decisions/purchasing are made on the local level -- this was around the time some of the more adventurous offerings were showing up in Denver and they seemed surprised/amused by this.

frankly, you won't find much better with other airlines either right now. You say you were hoping for better experiences, but honestly IAD did not have a Polaris lounge last year at all, so perhaps you could have checked that out before booking your tickets as well?
Later this year there will be an IAD Polaris lounge and it will be better than the other IAD lounges, no questions. As you point out, the TK (or LH) lounge isn't better right now as well.

I did see that WineCountryUA , just sad it took so long, I am quite loyal to UA at PHL even though it is AA land.... Slightly saddened to see we are among the last outstation. And btw, thanks for all you contribute to this board

Yeah agree, interesting CLE opening before BOS. Not that I don't like it, I travel in and out of CLE regularly and less through BOS and I find hands down the CLE club to be one of best UCs. Having said that I thought they would use Covid as an excuse to close the CLE club as it is fast becoming one of the least used UCs. To that point has anyone every seen the stats on UC usage by site, are they published?

The Cleveland UC is officially open -- this may be the first FT post from it in 2021

Saw the news this morning in the Cleveland Plain Dealer about the CLE club and from the responses above I see the club has many FT friends and fans. I'll be there in two weeks and looking forward to it. A great UC with great people!
