I haven't had an e-rewards survey offer in months; nor has my gf. Is this true for others? I've had dry spells before, but only one time for this long, and that time I had to cancel my account and open a new one with a new email to start getting surveys again. tls

Months without an offer sounds like something is wrong. I don't think I go much more than a week without at least one offer, sometimes a few in one day.

Same here although many of them are business-related since I'm self-employed.

Firewind Dec 30, 2011 4:03 pm

Many more, it seemed, right after the end of the Grand Slam. Now, not many. But I think bob12403 is right.

thelostshark Jan 3, 2012 10:31 am

Thanks. Think I'll close down my account and see if I can open it up with another email address. tls

+1

I wouldn't close an existing account just to open a new one, since you may not get an invite.

Same here. I used to get several a week then I was $2.50 away from $100 and I haven't gotten an invite since October 10th. My $$ expires in Feburary and I wanted to make it to $100 before I redeem but doesn't look like that will happen.

I just emailed them through the "Contact Us" button. Will let you know what they say.

I had two accounts with expiration dates set at 12/31/11. I should have been able to redeem before 2/1. But I looked today and those accounts were reset to expire on 12/31/12. So, I have another year to hope for PCR double partner promo.

Steve in Olympia Jan 3, 2012 4:38 pm

In my experience, the rate of frequency of e-rewards surveys seems to have slowed dramatically over the last few weeks, but I am hopeful that this is attributable to the holidays.

seattletravelguy Jan 3, 2012 4:56 pm

I haven't noticed a change - except, I might actually be getting more - in the amount of recent surveys. I redeemed another $25 worth for 500 AS miles in November (to date, I've been awarded about 3000 miles). I thought maybe they'd slow down, but I'm almost at $5.00 worth since early December and these are only for surveys that I haven't qualified entirely for.

dldkjones Jan 6, 2012 3:49 pm

Do e-rewards Still Expire?

E-rewards used to expire after a year, but in checking my account statement when planning to make a redemption before expiration, I did not find an expiration date. Do these no longer have an expiration date?

linsj Jan 6, 2012 6:32 pm

Last year I emailed E-rewards about my missing expiration date and was told I would no longer have one since I'm a long-time member. Apparently, they sent a notice I didn't receive. I don't know if they've dropped the expiration for everyone now or not.

DBCme Jan 6, 2012 6:39 pm

Seems like something e-rewards might want to post in their FAQ section
(unless of course they decide to change program terms on the fly..)

My account lists expiration dates for some of my points. I don't know if it's enforced or not.

ITravelThereforeIam Jan 6, 2012 7:34 pm

I got an email from them a couple weeks ago saying since I was a long time member my points would no longer expire....it was in my pam folder...

janed9388 Jan 8, 2012 7:44 am

for the UK scheme, does anyone know how make sure I get better redemption options than I currently have.

I have an account that only will let me redeem with Hilton, Priority Club or Delta (who I would't really use) & I have new links to join from British Airways & Hilton (again for some reason) - I e-mailed and asked e-rewards if they could add in the British Airways into my current optoins, but was told no and the only way to get BA rewards would be to cancel and re-join using their link. I'd really like a few more airline choices too, is there some logic about who's link you join with and what other options yet get ?

louie-m Jan 8, 2012 8:53 am

If you sign up through a link from an airline, you will only get that airline (but usually several hotels) as an option. Similarly, if you sign up through a hotel chain link, you will usually get several airlines, but only that hotel chain as an option. They are promoting loyalty so wouldn't want your points to go to a competitor after all.

So if you want airline choices and don't have many miles in your existing account, close the current one and take up the Hilton offer. Or if you have more than one email address, you could always keep what you have and see what the new one offers.....

janed9388 Jan 8, 2012 9:38 am

thats useful - thankyou, I was considering opening a second account with another e-mail but wasn't sure how tight they were on that sort of thing. I think I might give it a go.

MDtR-Chicago Jan 8, 2012 11:41 am

On receiving more surveys...

One thing I've noticed: if I go back to an old e-mail invitation for a survey and attempt to take it again, after it rejects me, the link it offers to look for more surveys quite often offers me something that was never offered by e-mail or on the website.

And once I get one of those "surprise" surveys, I usually find that my e-mail offer rate goes up for a while.

YMMV

If you join via British Airways, you'll get ONLY BA as a redemption option. If you join via Hilton, you'll get Hilton and all the airlines, EXCEPT BA.

they don't like to make this easy for us...

Whilst you might not get BA, you might get Iberia (I have but can't remember who I signed up through), in which case, you can set up an Iberia Avios account and transfer from there to BA (although I think you have to wait 3 months after setting up the Iberia account before you can transfer out). Can anyone check if they got Iberia as an option from a HHonors invitation?

neuromancer Jan 9, 2012 8:16 am

oops, forgot about Iberia. I have Iberia as an option with an account that allows all airlines. Actually, via Iberia you get slightly more Avios

+1 to all.

Regarding expiration: Technically, there is an expiration date for points, but every year, I get an email telling me that, because I was an active member, they will waive the expiration. I attempt at least 75% of the surveys they send me.

I guess this explains why mine got extended.

Lucky old you! I've managed $80+ since October and still the majority of that will expire at the end of the month if I don't make use of it. No extension past 31 December (+ a month) for me.

Well, I attempt 95%, but they never waive the expiration. I don't think that matters.

Yeah, me neither. I used to hear from them every week or so. Now it's been several weeks, at least. I hope they're not going out of business.
Like someone said, perhaps it's the holidays.
I'm not near a threshold, so don't think that's the issue, at least for me. I actually just cashed out a few miles to keep my USAir account active.

MDtR-Chicago Jan 10, 2012 2:58 pm

For those not receiving surveys, have you gone back thru and updated your profile mini-surveys?

You won't earn points but it's worked in the past for me to "jump start" things.

If it makes you feel any better, they tend to come in big lumps. I'll get nothing for weeks and then a whole bunch at once.

I'm redeeming for hotel points and saving up for GS12 (US Airways Grand Slam 2012). Be prepared, that's what they say! ;)

Mike

MJLouise Jan 11, 2012 12:32 pm

I just wish I could get an invite from a partner who allows US Airways redemptions, for the GS promo :( I've gone back through all my old emails to look for Priority Club and US Air invites and don't have anything.

excellent point about iberia, I completely forgot about that way of transffering, and yes, you do get iberia via the hilton honors invite. thanks for reminding me.

edit - well that's sneaky !, it showed me iberia when I followed the link, then after I had registered and confirmed, most of the transfer options were removed and I was just left with Hilton, Delta and one other.

edit 2 - and now iberia seems to have re-appeared !, very strange.

I can see Iberia in my options but no BA. I joined long time ago with a Hilton Invite but later re-joined with a Priority Club invite - later I called to have 2 accounts combined when IHG had partner activities promotion. They merged the 2, PC stayed and HHonor vanished.

The airlines I have, DL, CO, VS, WN, US, AS, B6, Hawaiian and Etihad, even Frontier - isn't that Frontier no longer exists?

IB has a 0.3x versus other airlines only 0.2x ratio. I do not realize that IB and BA can be transferred like UA/CO. This is cool.

However I cannot find the transfer option in my BAEC account - is this IB/BA transfer option only available to UK-based BAED Members?

The Juiceman Jan 14, 2012 11:59 pm

I have been getting several e-rewards survey opportunities recently. Most are for $6+ and I have been qualifying. I was not participating for several months while I traveled but started to recently, mostly out of boredom. They must have an active, go-to list or something. I haven't searched redemption opps much. What is the general consensus on their best use?

Have a look at this thread. If it doesn't help, try posting a question there.

Questions on E Rewards

Can somebody please help me find the following information about e-rewards program - if somebody joined through priority club, is there anyway to add Hilton as a redemption partner? Thanks so much for the information.

No.

If you join thru a hotel invitation, that's the only hotel you will see as a redemption option.

If you join thru an airline invitation, that's the only airline you will see as a redemption option.
