I don't know if I'll be able to gain enough points again to get anything worthwhile before this promotion disappears...

Hello,

I just want to confirm this: 1000 MCR = 5000 DL miles. I don't need to fly DL to get this reward. Correct?

Thanks!
Lee

Although I have little use for it the Blockbuster gift card seems a good deal 750pts for $75, 1000pts for $100. Easily sellable to a friend who uses Blockbuster a fair amount.

If anyone is short on a points source a guy is selling three lots of 500 caps on ebay for around $20 including postage. That's almost enough for $175 worth of Blockbuster gift cards ^^

In either the T&C or the FAQ on the MCR site they list all the packages that contain codes and their point values. Some packages will, indeed, be worth more than 10 points.
Any alphanumeric code like that is a one-time code from a package. So far all the bonus codes have been all numbers, beginning with 10008.

An update!
I actually walked the dog last night and came back with 63 points from recycling day. I was rather anxious going through the neighbors bins, but it was worth it!!

It should be noted that this is actually illegal in many jurisdictions.

Taking aluminum cans here is against the law. The paper is going right back into my bin.

Plastic caps will go back in after 90 days.

Plastic caps are supposed to be removed before recycling bottles. Apparently they are a different plastic. So you don't need to bother to put them in the recycle bin. Don't tell your neighbors, of course, or there will no longer be caps for you to harvest!

Find me that guy and I'll take the time to spend 50 days in a row entering in those caps... but I haven't found such a price including shipping.

Not to mention that it puts a crimp in the income of many homeless/poor people who rely upon cash from metals and recycle/CRV.

Definition of a day?

According to the faqs on the site, a day = calendar day for entering codes. But this morning when I tried to enter codes, I got a message that I'd reached my limit today. I entered codes last night around 8:00. Anyone else have this problem?

Lids from plastic botles do NOT contribute to the amount of $$ you receive for CRV/recycling, and that is what people are collecting, not aluminum cans. Or, they may be tearing off the code from a cardboard box/12 pack. I cannot see how any of that takes money away from anyone.

I think rbAA was kidding. It would still be illegal for even a homeless person to take the cans from your recycling bin!

Does anyone have any info about the Blockbuster gift cards? Are they literally like gift cards you'd buy in the store. I presume there are on restrictions on them except the $100 which needs to be used by December 1st. At work one of my colleagues spends about $40 a month at Blockbuster and he said he'd be happy to relieve me of a gift card :o

A day is 12.00pm - 11-59am EST.

It appeared they went for more at the end of the auction, around $40-$45 for 1500 MCR points. With an hour to go it was showing as a handful of bids with top price being $11, plus $10 for shipping.

Seems like I picked up a bargain on ebay, in December I bought 3000 MCR points worth of caps for about $51 including shipping :D At that time people were unsure whether MCR would last much longer so I guess there was little market.

Still holding on here for a double points day!
