You guys don't know how lucky you are. The standard price for a 12-pack at Safeway here is $5.69 each. There are occasional sales of buy 2, get 2 free or buy 2, get 3 free, which would bring the price down closer to your range. But the sales are unpredictable and often skip a few weeks. So you have to stock up if you want to avoid being held up. :(

However - the best deal which has run the past few years @ July 4 - was to buy 2, get 3 free, and then get a mail-in rebate for the first 2. The cost was close to $0  excluding taxes, a .41 stamp and the heinous .05 per can "recycling fee"

You can reclaim that if you actually take your cans to the recycling center found at many grocery stores. I just don't bother and factor it into the price. Still, I applaud recycling and denounce not recycling, fee or no fee.

All of our cans (and bottles) go into a recycling bin in our building.

Voluntary Recycling ^

Taxes disguised as recycling fees :td:

They aren't taxes if you can reclaim them. And I'd be fine with mandatory recycling, if only such a thing could actually be implemented. But both of those are discussions for OMNI.

No longer see Delta sponsor support on the Mycokerewards site. Appears that all sponsor logo, sweepstakes or advertising is gone. Has Delta finally drop from the Mycokerewards? Anyone have insight?

We save our cans and take them to a scrap dealer... Not much, but it's a little extra cash that serves to lower the cost of Coke/Pepsi. :)

i also didnt notice anything for delta a few days ago, plus notice that on ebay, only avvery few coke codes available for sale, someone told me ebay is prohibiting sales of coke points.

I do the same..every little bit helps

TrojanHorse Apr 5, 2008 4:28 pm

those prices are definitely the exception rather than the rule in Northern VA; that said and done, compared with CA, 12 packs at the identical price are still cheaper in VA where there isn't the recycle tax (yes it is IMHO a tax) and in CA they even tax the tax which is a total joke

I never did (still don't) recycle so to me, it is nothing but a tax that I must pay (in CA).

I did stock up on those 12 packs, this week they were back to $5.69 each. I would drink generic store brands before paying that much for a 12 pack

What?   Please recycle! Recycling aluminum is a major energy saver and means less mining is required to extract more aluminum, not to mention preventing additional waste in landfills. (Yes, I said it's a topic for OMNI... but recycling is important.)

This thread is 124 pages. Can we please keep it focused on my Coke Rewards and not recycling?

kipper Apr 5, 2008 8:01 pm

You can also try to get "free" codes from freecycle for both this and the Pepsi program. I've seen multiple wanted posts for coke codes. :)

Delta branding on MCR

The gradual disappearance of the sponsor branding has been going on since at least late February. The sweepstakes that ended a few weeks later was, I believe, the last meaningful sign of the Delta brand on MCR. See post #1769 and subsequent discussion.

However, Julest posted the following on March 24:

Delta is still participating with mycokerewards and will have a contest appearing soon
New Delta Daily Instant Win Promotion
March 2008
From April 8 to May 14, My Coke Rewards members will have the chance to win one prize of 2 round-trip domestic tickets from Delta Airlines. One person will win instantly every day. Entry will require 6 points, but there is a higher chance of winning!
So perhaps there is a chance that Delta will maintain a presence at MCR...hopefully, of course, including a return of Delta awards.

Julest Apr 6, 2008 7:36 am

More info on the Delta contest and the new design of page, there will also be limited edition awards premiering with a count down clock to days left for that award and they are adding text links to the site to make navigation quicker.

-New Instant Win Promotion functionality. My Coke Rewards is giving away two Delta domestic roundtrip tickets every day during the run of this promotion. You'll find out as soon as you enter whether you have won or not.
