Not to document your complains is the same as CONSENT to being screwed

i don't know many teens that have patience to gather points for much over 500 points..surely don't know any that chase PC points and travel stuff at all... you?

Not calling (and or writing in) to air your MCR complaints is the same as
CONSENTING to being screwed and jerked-around by Coke's marketing and
promtion department.

just got back from food shopping

Harris Teeter in Northern VA

I bought ten diet pepsi twelve packs on the buy two at $5.99 each and get three free ($2.40 per 12 pack)

Had to stop by Safeway to pick up an Rx and got a two 24 packs of Diet pepsi for $11 ($2.75 per 12)..

just for kicks I looked at coke prices per 12.. HT = $4.99 and SW $5.69/Coke Cases were $6.99

its a no brainer; to me they are the same product and I buy strictly on price and thats what I did.. codes or no codes

I find it really interesting that few people around here complained about the totally worthless awards that Pepsi was providing in their Pepsi Stuff promo (which btw started later than Cokes and ended sooner) but everyone seems to have a problem with the Coke Rewards program.

All I ended up with from that stupid Pepsi promo was dozens of free downloads for my kids.

Yes, the Coke awards are devalued but you'd be drinking soda anyway.

Around here, whoever has Coke on sale this week usually has Pepsi on sale the next, so stock up and you won't miss the sales.

All things being equal, I prefer Diet Pepsi, but I admit to choosing Coke products for this promo when prices are the same. Otherwise, I go for the best price first.

sugar-fix, pepsi-coke et al, and rewards thereof

Let's face it.

Both Coke and Pepsi as well as the few others that dominate
the sugar-water marketplace, know their game too well.

I've also participated in the Pepsi promos and found this last Pepsi promo
to have nothing more than trash ... worst than the Coke MCR program
"rewards."

Last time around I did get $25.00 cash...once...Whoopie!

Pepsi has a horrible, watered-down taste. Shall I dare be graphic here?
Instead, I'll let your imagination(s) fill-in-the-blank as to what kind of
crappy after-taste Pepsi has in it.

Moving on...back to my original purpose of posting.

In the past half-dozen or so posts, we've been discussing how lousy
the Coca-Cola MCR program rewards have been for the last year,
and how complaining directly to Coke management by contacting MCR
customer service to document our collective complaints wouldn't
do any good...

How many of you can recall your disappointment with trying to
redeem MCR points for PC points, only to discover the restriction
barrier for a maximum of (3) 500 and/or (3) 2,000 PC point awards
limitation
?

I'm aware that several FTers did call MCR customer service in the past.

Results? Now you can garner (2) 500 PC point rewards
once every 30 days instead.

So Coke management did CHANGE some things because people
took the time to call.

So now you've a better chance to attain at least PC Gold elite status
as those who garner PC points should be aware HOW to gather the
other 8,000 points by year-end to qualify.

Even with the current restrictions, it's NOT rocket science
to figure how to work-around such trival limitations.

I never participated in the pepsi promo b/c it was so bad; I looked at first and just laughed and never even set up an account. my first problem was telling my kids and the people at work who give me mcr codes that i dont particpate in the pepsi promo.. however that has nothing to do with the coke promo.. they are two different things and I do have a problem with cokes promo

kudos to you getting stuff that interests you on the pepsi promo.. that (d/l) wasn't anything I cared about so it didn't work for me

when you say you'd be drinking the soda anyway; true but not coke products

you are lucky that where you live if pepsi is on sale this week; coke will be next week.. thats not how it works in the DC area.. only around major holidays can you count on a promo.. this weekends pepsi promo came out of the blue.. coke most likely will not be on sale next week and it sure wasn't last week

Check your local Target stores. Just about every week one or the other is on sale. This week, my Target has Coke 12 pks @ 3 for $9 and 2 liter Coke products are 3 for $4. Not the world's greatest deal, but not bad.

I've also found good deals on both Coke and Pepsi 12 pks at my local gas stations....Hess being the one that seems to have the best deals most often. Over the summer I could get 12 pks @ 2 for $5 regularly; the price of soda has increased over the past few months and I am seeing 2 for $6 at Hess quite often. It's an easy pickup if you are there getting gas anyway ;)

thats the problem, my pricing point for acceptable value for DC or DP is $2.50 maximimum per 12 pack; I have been known to suck it up and spend up to $2.75 per 12 pk but even then I have to be desparate to do that; I don't value a 12 pack of any soda for $3.00 or more... its just not worth it to me and I don't enjoy it that much. I will stock up when I find it for $2.50 or less like I did at Harris Teeter this weekend ($2.40 per 12)

We don't have Hess down here but I usually gas up at 7-11 and they seldom are competitive on 12 packs of soda

I have about 7,100 MCR points and have no clue what to do with them. We are headed to Orlando with our kids this April and I have looked at the Universal Studios tickets...face value is about $75 and I can get 4 of them for 1,000 pts each...thoughts?
Any other decent values out there that I am missing?

Boston_Bulldog Jan 25, 2009 1:54 pm

Go for what you can RIGHT NOW before they're gone

Grab those Universal-Orlando chits while you can do so... keep garnering MCR points and just hang on for now. Check again in February and March.
They should be adding at least SOME "family" stuff for the Spring & Summer
quarters.

Brendan Jan 25, 2009 5:20 pm

Most of us are happy with getting 3200 Priority Club points for 1000 MCR--worth about $30 of free Holiday Inn room. When PC points were unavailable to me last Veterans' Day, I was happy to get a $90 donation to the USO for 1800 MCR points. So I second BB's advice that bsdstone should grab the Universal passes in a heartbeat! + Grab 7 total & invite 3nephews/ nieces/ neighbor kids or scalp the last 3!

I just redeemed for two tickets...unfortunately that is the max you can get!
Any way to transfer points to another account and have them get them? I actually only need one more as my youngest son will be just shy of his 3rd bday, so he should be free.
Another question for anyone who has been to universal...will they make me an offer to upgrade my tickets to be able to use them at both parks instead of just one?

Get the Universal tickets. I've been looking at those too. Even after you get them you'll still have 3,100 worthless MCR points left ;)

I used 560 or so MCR points at Christmas for a $20 discount on a gift of Omaha Steaks. It was a decent trade (covered the shipping with a few bucks left over) but I believe it was a limited time offer that is now gone.

SRQ Guy Jan 26, 2009 8:22 am

I've been using the points for 20 oz. coke products. The reward costs 24 points per bottle, which normally go for $1.49 each at 7-11. That's $0.06 per MCR point. There also doesn't seem to be a limit on this reward. Not bad.

Universal tickets are a better deal for some, but not for Florida residents. We can get an annual 2-park pass for the price of 1-day 1-park admission (discounted for Florida residents, no less) at certain times of the year.

Anybody else have any bright ideas to help out bsdstone ?

That is indeed sad to hear. "Family" is gnerally more than just two people.
If I had that many points in my account, I'd get 2 and send them, but
don't have sufficient to do so... and, alas! you can't transfer points
between accounts. Even if you changed your email and person info in
the profile, the MCR system would still read that you got 2 already. Bummer.

I wonder if you called MCR customer service if they would allow you to
get 2 more by allowing you to transfer points need to an account for
say, your son or other family member? Maybe might be worth a shot?

Anybody else got any bright ideas to help out bsdstone?
